It's cold outside so the lovely friendly perfumistas are by the fireplace, sniffing our scarves and dreaming of the desert

Actually not quite the same now I look at the two photos. Similar, though.

Bluesheep8 · 08/12/2019 09:16

SOTD Timeless

Stinkyeddie · 08/12/2019 09:24

Sotd 4160 extra sexiest scent

teta · 08/12/2019 10:54

Very similar @Judystilldreamsofhorses. Typically Victorian/Edwardian hall tiles.I love your skirt too. I have one like that from Mint Velvet that I haven't worn for a while. I must get it out
That's a beautiful Christmas tree @Stinkyeddie.
No perfume yet. Am still in bed with a cup of tea. Loved your review @MaudBaileysGreenTurban.

Stinkyeddie · 08/12/2019 12:46

I've added some red as it looked a bit bland
:)

Nice review Maud. Being hopelessly literal, I have only worn LJdMMcG in the springtime. I'm going home to try it on your joint recommendation 😀

Stinkyeddie · 08/12/2019 13:05

Lovely reviews :)

Interesting, isn't it? I wore 4160 mrsgloss indoors all last summer in the dreadful heat....it was gloriously refreshing to my nose!

I'd wear by the fireplace all year round too...I adore it :)

(Not much of the real stuff you kindly sent me left, judy!)

MrsMoggs · 08/12/2019 13:11

Hope your son had a good night Teta?

MotherOfDragonite · 08/12/2019 14:39

Your son looks very dashing, teta! (And I like your floor tiles...)

SOTD yesterday was Creamy Vanilla Crumble, and today it's Eau My Soul.

teta · 08/12/2019 15:53

@MrsMoggs he came home hungry as there wasn't enough food on his plate at the dinner. He didn't realise you can go up for seconds until his big sister told him later ( he exists in his own little universe). Then he pulled his shirt out as it's not cool to tuck your shirt in . I did point out that doesn't apply to suits.......... So he didn't look dashing for long.🤦‍♀️
And apparently he was playing games with his 'weirdo' mates during the disco according to his sister.😂 Oh well , it's his first attempt at adult socialising .

MrsMoggs · 08/12/2019 18:05

Sounds like a pretty successful first grown-up outing, Teta Smile. My DS is still at the slightly less sophisticated stage of po-go-ing relentlessly for the duration of an event and emerging sweating like a racehorse!

teta · 08/12/2019 18:11

I need some expert advice, and hope I'm in the right place. I'd like to buy DM a little extra present for Christmas to say thank you for her help with childcare recently.
We've already got her and DF a weekend away with a fancy dinner so budget is about £30-£40 for the extra gift.
She's a latecomer to wearing perfume other than rive gauche in the eighties! When I was young I wore things like the DKNY fragrances in apples, D&G L'Imperatrice, Lacoste touch of pink etc and she used to say I smelled like a fruit salad, sweets or an old lady's handbag...
More recently I've worn things like Ellie Saab le parfum, Paco rabanne lady million, Armani Si, Donna Karan cashmere, and my fallback is good old channel number 5. Day to day for work etc I often wear the M&S Rosie for autograph scents. So a fairly random mix but she has commented that she likes some of them, the Donna Karan and lady million definitely I think she said Si was too sweet for her. She likes sandalwood and vanilla but nothing too sweet, nothing too fruity and nothing that's lightly floral/rose scents (which I love).
Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Stinkyeddie · 08/12/2019 21:53

I'd suggest my sotd (scent of the day) 4160 Tuesdays sexiest scent on the planet ever imho - don't let the name put you off! :)
Beautiful woody citrus vanilla

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 08/12/2019 21:58

SOTD MMM Fireplace.

lionel Dior Addict might fit your brief with vanilla and sandalwood. It’s available in Boots, John Lewis etc for sniffing. I think it will be top end of your budget, or possibly slightly over though.

Stinkyeddie · 08/12/2019 22:03

Dior addict is gorgeous but HUGE jasmine note

MotherOfDragonite · 08/12/2019 22:16

I really like Eau My Soul by 4160 Tuesdays, LionelRitchie -- lots of sandalwood and other nice things.

MrsMoggs · 08/12/2019 22:26

How about Shalimar - dry, smoky vanilla and sandalwood? Or more Rive Gauche - it's fab Smile.

Stinkyeddie · 09/12/2019 07:53

Sorry to be dense but I cant seem to overtype my review??
:(
