@taybert go for it!
@talisin lovely outfits, brilliant buys
@Ellapaella not bought accessories from hush but it's very nice

dontcallmelen · 16/11/2019 14:25

Taybert I would love it if my doctor wore sparkly leggings, my consultant is lovely but dresses very very conservatively, saw the leggings & the velvet jacket etc in Sainsbury’s during the week they are fab.
Talisin you look totally fab 👍🏼

Talisin · 16/11/2019 14:35

Aww, thank you everyone Smile I think I shall get a lot of wear out of that trouser suit in the next couple of months.

Ella that hair clip is lovely - would slide straight out of my fine hair unfortunately.

taybert I am strongly considering this glitter themal top for under the trouser suit. Practical and pretty in one.

Maybe there should be an MN campaign to get doctors into sparkly leggings! Grin

taybert · 16/11/2019 16:10

I saw that @Talisin, I like the idea of glitter thermals very much. I’m thinking about what shoes I can wear with the suit and I’ve got some pale gold/champagne glitter heels so was wondering about this top under the jacket. The only thing is I’ve not worn anything requiring a strapless bra for ages and the only one I’ve got is from my wedding (10th anniversary next year). I suspect that one doesn’t fit any more so probably need to look at strapless bra options- recommendations welcome!

Laska2Meryls · 16/11/2019 16:31

You look great in al of those Talisin.. I saw the velvet jacket the other day and liked it also..really nice quality too

You have enabled me also ... I've ordered that thermal glitter top now !

Sooverthemill · 16/11/2019 17:46

@taybert I read this when I was looking for a bra to go under odd shape tops. I've got the M&S one but only worn once ( only needed to)

taybert · 16/11/2019 18:05

Thanks @Sooverthemill, the wonder bra one in the article is the one I have, was thinking about getting one in the right size but since the reason it needs to be changed is that my boobs have disappeared I can probably get away with one with less support.

miffy2 · 16/11/2019 19:13

I don't suppose anyone knows if there is a new Hush code? Nov10 has expired and I am ready to push the button on the Brigitte jumper. :)

I bought a few bits in H&M, a skirt and top that I won't wear together although they are the same fabric and pattern. The top is lovely with leggings and the skirt with the cream fluffy jumper I bought last month.
Also a black sequin top but if I cannot find 2/3 things in my wardrobe to go with it, I will return it.

Leggings from M&S have been such a success; I bought the suedette-fronted ones and have not stopped wearing them; also bought a coated snakeskin (?) pattern that are good but may need to size down to a 10 (!) as they are a bit baggy on the knees and legs.

On the disaster front, I completely destroyed a charcoal Hush jumper by bunging it in a 40 degree wash instead of hand-washing it cold. I bloody knew it would happen too; I took it out of storage and noticed it looked a bit grubby and swore I would put it aside in the laundry, but no, in it went. It wouldn't fit a toddler now! It was a lovely one, an Adele. I have it in burgundy as well and love it in winter as it is great for layering. I had it years and it owed me nothing but still :(

Sooverthemill · 16/11/2019 21:35

@miffy2 waiting for Black Friday I think for codes. That sequin top is lovely. Jeans, coated leggings, midi skirts? Under a blazer...I love it

Sooverthemill · 16/11/2019 21:38

@miffy2 would you link the leggings? I'm so impressed by my MV ones. I haven't worn leggings since I lived in them for chemo for 6 months and I went right off them but feeling the love again!

miffy2 · 16/11/2019 22:56

*@Sooverthemill

M&S suedette leggings

They are not quite ankle grazing length on me (5' 7") but not too long either.

These are the other pair, haven't worn them yet but they are very similar to a pair of Spanx that I was eyeing up. Definitely a little looser on the leg but I will try them again and keep my eye out for a 10:

snake print leggings

Finally, I bought these but they are very like the Spanx original leather-look that I have, so I will probably return them (or else keep them as a backup!) Not as high-waisted or as sucky-in as the Spanx, obviously, but they are not shiny like the MV pair.

@miffy2 the Brigitte jumper is gorgeous! I’d not seen it and I want one now!

Sooverthemill · 17/11/2019 07:50

@miffy2 thank you! I will take a look. Thank goodness I am allergic to mohair or I would covet that jumper too

frances, I would say I’m pretty much a true 12, and I couldn’t have sized down in it - while on me the 12 was roomy on the shoulders, a 10 was far too tight on the hips. I haven’t bought it yet, I was checking out sizing in anticipation of a Black Friday offer. Are you near a JL or Waitrose store. I tend to order click and collect, try on in store and return while I’m there, so they only have my cash for 24 hours. (I also resent the time I’m out of pocket)

justilou1 · 18/11/2019 01:31

I was looking up Spanx pleather leggings here in Aus, and the only ones I could find were... wait for it... $780.00. They can’t be THAT good! Can get real leather for less than that! (Cheaper to buy a cow, probably! - Can’t confess to having researched that particular “fact” tbh).... I would fly to America while the orange bloke is in charge and pay retail before I paid that for pleather pants!!!

Sooverthemill · 18/11/2019 07:47

@justilou1 okay I'm a bit bored. I checked and found this website. Still pricey though! eBay?

justilou1 · 18/11/2019 08:22

Well that’s more like it!!! Must have been when I was looking!!!

Sooverthemill · 18/11/2019 08:50

Oh Hushita's, have you seen the poetry sale has started?

twosoups1972 · 18/11/2019 15:49

I had the Poetry email too @Sooverthemill I love the Alpaca boucle sweater.

Sooverthemill · 18/11/2019 17:34

@twosoups1972 there's lots of stuff I like but luckily I will be allergic

medb22 · 19/11/2019 09:42

miffy, that sequinned top is lovely. I'm looking for something sparkly for the coming season, and that's fun but not ott. The short sleeves might be tricky (hefty of the upper arm)...I may have to venture into a bricks and mortar H&M to try it.

My M&S boucle skirt arrived: this one I'm not 100% sure. The outside layer is lovely - a nice wool mix, and it hangs quite nicely. It has a very annoying unsecured polyester slip underneath though that rides up a lot. Also, the silver buttons are a bit cheap looking. So it may go back.

My green corduroy dress from Hush arrived to my husband's work and he forgot to bring it home with him! Grr. I'm very excited to try it on.

When work calms down (if it does), I need to find some new black winter boots before Christmas. I was very impressed by Ellapella's Mint Velvet ones. I also quite like the ones that have a lot of buckles and/or studs - this type. But I need to go try lots on - black leather can be tricky to judge online, I think. I was also looking for knee-high flat boots, but everything is too literally riding boot.

Ninkanink · 19/11/2019 11:50

Hello everyone 👋👋

Have stayed away for a while because I was spending too much...and also for other reasons (including a bit of an MN detox), but I missed you so I’m back, with a name change, but hopefully still recognisable! 😁

Hope you all are well and happy. 🌷

I’ve picked up a few things in the last month, including this dress which I absolutely love (Sorry, can’t post photos as it’s a new account):

And a pair of boots for smart dressing over the winter:

Plus my OH treated me to a new scarf (in the navy colourway) and a pair of shoes:

(They match each other perfectly which makes me very happy! 😍)

I went out the other day to our town centre and there was a brass band playing Christmas hymns and carols which was so nice. I love this time of year when everything feels just that little bit more warm and kind. I guess we’re okay to actively count down ‘til Christmas on this thread since it is in the title...I used to decorate in November when my girls were little but these days I’m more restrained so I shall be putting the tree up on Dec 1st. 🎄

dontcallmelen · 19/11/2019 17:23

Hi Nink lovely to see you back, some lovely purchases👍🏼 Yy hopefully Christmas cheer will be plentiful could certainly do with some amongst all the doom & gloom.

Ellapaella · 19/11/2019 18:28

Hello and a warm welcome back to nink Smile

Anyone got any inspiration for warm winter clothes that are not just jumper and jeans? I'm a bit bored of my winter clothes and really dresses not warm enough in this cold weather. What've you all been buying?
