Ah Beatrice I completely understand. I don't have a relationship with my in laws beyond them being DH's parents and my kids grandparents. His mum isn't as bad as she was though, but she's the kind of woman who would argue with herself in an empty room. In some ways it's easier having to make the effort to stay once or twice a year than if they were local, kind of gets it all over and done with in one go. My family on the other hand are lovely, my DH was treated like another son from the off no one thought he'd come to steal me away and ruin their lives

@BertrandRussell I couldn't agree more. We only see a small snapshot of their lives and I'm amazed how many people on here believe everything they read in the tabloids as being fact.

I always forget that Lady Louise and her brother are William and Harry’s cousins not George and Charlottes. It must be difficult especially for Louise. Although she is horse mad so plenty to talk about with Zara and I always got the feeling she was her grandfathers favourite.

Charles really looks like the Queen in that last one, around the chops.

@BertrandRussell agree. As someone with an elderly great aunt who we all respect and revere, nonetheless, no one, least of all her, expects us to put her first at all times.
