The UK.

Used to buy stuff from M&S until their staff became so insulting and their products absolutely dreadful. ( "no that doesn't come in a longer length because fat people aren't tall")

I can't find things in cotton - and can't wear polyester modal fabric. So I hold out until I go to Canada and raid the shops there. Addition-elle is excellent and I even go to Walmart.

ElspethFlashman · 02/11/2019 16:40

Haven't been in TopShop or River Island for years. Next is really frumpy.

Still use Primark or M+S (during the 20% off only) for plain basics and underwear.

Go to ASOS a lot, get a fair bit of Monki on there, and also smaller brands like Lucy + Yak and McIndoe.

Contrary to others, I still shop in Wallis every Christmas - they're great for Christmas party frocks if you've got a bit of weight on. Not great the rest of the year unless you work in a conservative office.

neveradullmoment99 · 02/11/2019 16:41

I no longer shop in White stuff or fatface [ a few things]
I shop in toast, hush, sometimes H&M, most recently marks and spencers!

neveradullmoment99 · 02/11/2019 16:42

I no longer shop in Boden either. I find their waists on skirts tiny.

CointreauVersial · 02/11/2019 16:43

White Stuff
All that ghastly print and floppy knitwear. All of a sudden, I thought, what am I doing in here?

Zara
The bizarre sizing, the random quality, the queues, the surly staff....it's too much of an effort.

Gingerninja01 · 02/11/2019 16:43

Warehouse - everything is grey
Oasis - everything is floral

joggingon · 02/11/2019 16:46

I no longer shop in mint velvet. I now shop in matches, Outnet and wolf and badger.

havingtochangeusernameagain · 02/11/2019 16:46

I think it's easier to say where I do look for clothes although some of my chosen stores have been criticised on here and someone said they were for 40 something women who've given up. I don't think I have!

Anyway Monsoon, Fatface, White Stuff, Seasalt, Crew Clothing.

M&S for knickers, Figleaves for bras

havingtochangeusernameagain · 02/11/2019 16:46

Never went to Top Shop even when I was young enough to.

ElspethFlashman · 02/11/2019 16:53

God I forgot about Zara.

Total shit show.

fuzzymoon · 02/11/2019 17:10

No longer shop in Fat face , white stuff as they seem to use the same patterns every year just change the material.

Now shop in warehouse , oasis and when I can hush.

PuppyMonkey · 02/11/2019 17:14

Monsoon - what the hell happened to Monsoon?Sad

Craftycorvid · 02/11/2019 17:17

I’m with Greebols and have abandoned the ‘high street’ altogether. It’s chazzie shops and eBay all the way now. It’s much more fun finding some hidden treasure than wading through loads of man-made fibre samey stuff.

DontCallMeShitley · 02/11/2019 17:31

I no longer shop anywhere except TKMaxx and Asda for underwear and chinos and Ebay. If I find something I like I buy more than one so that I don't have to start again, and I use them until they fall apart.

Karmatime · 02/11/2019 17:31

White Stuff, Boden, Hobbs - weirdly because I find them a bit dated and frumpy even though I’m now 54 and used to shop there a lot in 30s and early 40s?

Rivergreen · 02/11/2019 17:36

I have never shopped in any of the repulsive Mike Ashely shops (Sports Direct, Jack wills) so that now includes House of Fraser. I also try not to buy from Blacks / Millets as he has shares and use an independent stockist online (would go in-store but live too far away)

I also will never step into another Neon Sheep after the only time I have been in, I noticed they were ripping off Herdy designs. Hate it when big companies steal ideas.

lindyloo57 · 02/11/2019 17:46

No longer shop in, primark, although I hardly did, newlook cheap looking, next, and wallis always seem frumpy, I sometimes check the Jean's out, I love H&M at the moment, you do have to search through some tat but have found some great things lately, oasis and wearhouse used to be were I mostly shopped, but lately seems bit expensive, o forgot to add Mark's ok for the odd thing, just ordered the animal print sequin skirt 20% off.

Bobbybobbins · 02/11/2019 17:49

New Look, Topshop, River Island, Zara.

Still find stuff in Warehouse, Oasis, H&M. Weirdly started to find more in Next than I used to!

Wizzbangpop · 02/11/2019 17:50

I no longer shop in
Urban outfitters- I'm no longer in there target market but I do look occasionally just in case
Dorothy Perkins- all the ones around me have closed
Debenhams- the one near me is tiny and gives me the rage

PlumkinPie · 02/11/2019 18:15

LK Bennett- used to love it

TeaAddict235 · 02/11/2019 18:24

Mid thirties

SpiderCharlotte · 02/11/2019 18:50

Mint Velvet - the quality is shit now, especially the knitwear.

trader21c · 02/11/2019 18:59

Now don’t shop in Phase Eight, Next, Monsoon, Crew clothing ...

Do shop in Hush, Sweaty Betty, H&M, Uni qlo, Hobbs and Boden (for work dresses)

Happyandglorious · 02/11/2019 19:03

Asos -appauling customer service. I know this wasn't the point of the thread. But I am still bitter.

Pinkarsedfly · 02/11/2019 19:03

Topshop, Monsoon, Warehouse, Gap or French Connection.

I now shop in Hush, Marks and Spencer, Toast, Next and Boden.
