The only way you get any customer service from ASOS is by tweeting their ASOS Here To Help account. That works.

Literally nothing else does though..... Hmm

Pinkarsedfly · 02/11/2019 19:07

I must admit the last few times I’ve been shopping I’ve been struggling to find anything decent. All droopy frills in man-made fibres.

TheCanterburyWhales · 02/11/2019 19:11

Hush and Mint Velvet.Tickles me that people point and laugh at Per Una and then rave about Hush. Their MN product placers must be laughing all the way to the bank.

I tend to get most stuff from John Lewis, concessions and their own. Jeans M&S , so shoot me...trousers Boden and Hobbs.

PlumkinPie · 02/11/2019 19:13

I also do not like Mint Velvet or Hush anywhere near as much as I used ti

BestIsWest · 02/11/2019 19:16

Monsoon (used to love their clothes about 7 years ago).
Boden (won’t support hunting).
Next(they were brilliant in the 90s, Gone seriously downhill)

I like the plainer Seasalt stuff, some M&S and JL and aspire to Toast and Poetry.

Pinkarsedfly · 02/11/2019 19:16

I’ve actually had a couple of nice things from Fat Face this season, but it’s hideously expensive.

Also Sainsbury’s, which isn’t.

Blackswan · 02/11/2019 19:27

When I saw the thread, my first thought was Boden.

KiteflyingKat · 02/11/2019 20:03

H&M
Next
Phase Eight
Oasis
Warehouse
Dorothy Perkins
Zara

To be honest most high street shops it wouldn’t occur to me to look in.

I now buy from TK Maxx, EBay but mostly from charity shops. I’m becoming more aware of the environmental impact of fast fashion. Admittedly I live in an area with great charity shops.

Ellapaella · 02/11/2019 20:06

I used to love FatFace but I wouldn't really even think to look there now for anything other than pyjamas. Ditto Joules.
I wouldn't think to ever look in Next for clothes either - just nothing ever appeals to me from there. I did buy a denim jacket from Next a coupe of years ago because someone gave me a voucher for my birthday but it's not somewhere I'd go to look normally.

Apart from those three shops I would pretty much shop anywhere - I don't have any one place that is my 'go to' for clothes. To be honest most high street shops sell the same stuff really, I was just looking in All Saints the other day, a 100% polyester dress was nearly £200 and looked almost exactly the same as a dress I bought in New Look for £28.

saltysally · 02/11/2019 21:41

Wouldn't step foot in House of Fraser though used to love it
Tend to avoid Marks and Debenhams

hammeringinmyhead · 02/11/2019 22:05

I no longer shop in Zara (it's all cut for people with 36 inch inseams) or H&M (too much jumbled stuff in my local massive branches).

I now shop in Sugarhill Boutique, Sainsbury's, ASOS for denim, TK Maxx and Celtic & Co. I'm 35.

VerbenaGirl · 02/11/2019 22:18

White Stuff and Boden just haven’t evolved and feel too mumsy now. River Island has gone a bit drag queen.

Victoria1083 · 02/11/2019 23:10

Boden - prices and quality have been moving in opposite directions for a number of years now,
Zara - just doesn’t feel right ever since I learnt about their status as the inventors of fast fashion

hammeringinmyhead · 03/11/2019 00:28

Agree River Island has gone a bit spangly in the last decade. When I was a teenager they did amazing knitwear and there were decidedly fewer sequins.

BanKittenHeels · 03/11/2019 00:40

Used to shop in but not anymore:
Topshop, Zara, H&M, Warehouse, Pull & Bear

Now shop in:
Arket, Monki, Cos, Fred Perry, & other stories, Matches.

I’m 36.

whiteroseredrose · 03/11/2019 00:46

I used to shop at Jigsaw and Episode back in the day. But I don't need suits any more 😁

Littlesteps45 · 03/11/2019 00:48

Monsoon - used to like it. Now it’s full of clothes my mum wore in the 1970’s

boredboredboredboredbored · 03/11/2019 06:09

Warehouse

Oasis

Used to love those shops in my early 20s but now their stuff looks outdated.

Almahart · 03/11/2019 07:11

Years ago I used to shop in Jigsaw and Whistles

Now Cos, Monki, Arket, Toast (via eBay)

Runneryogi · 03/11/2019 07:19

Reiss, Whistles, Phase Eight, French Connection

I used to save up and buy from the above in the sales thinking it was better environmentally to buy less but really fabulous things I’d wear forever

Now the above are all poor quality and design, really frumpy

I love charity shops and when I buy new I like Sezane, Olive and People Tree (all online)

Dramaofallama · 03/11/2019 07:22

I no longer shop in:
River Island - I use to love that shop but the last couple of years I have found the quality has gone down hill whilst the price tag has remained the same or gone up.

Dorothy perkins - their clothes I find have gone static with style.

Miss selfridges - same reason as River Island.

I now shop in:
Newlook - tbf I have always shopped in there and like the jeans.

TK Maxx - can get some good bargains.

H&M - I like their tops and blouses.

Topshop - although I question if their clothes are getting smaller? (Or if i am just getting bigger Grin)

Froggledoggleoggle · 03/11/2019 07:23

Superdry, in the past 3 years I've come to realise teeshirts with the shops name looks a bit silly bloody awful on a women in her late 20s.

LellyMcKelly · 03/11/2019 07:33

Next. The stuff has just been meh for years now.

Boden, Fat Face, White Stuff...and all the other shops that sell similar stuff. It just looks like you’ve given up and gone to work on a farm.

I still buy from Zara - the trick is to completely ignore the sizing. It’s meaningless.

Dramaofallama · 03/11/2019 07:42

Boden, Fat Face, White Stuff...and all the other shops that sell similar stuff. It just looks like you’ve given up and gone to work on a farm

Haha I love that Grin

DonkeyHotty · 03/11/2019 07:42

I used to shop in All Saints when they were a bit quirky, fashion-studenty, steam-punky for one off statement pieces in an otherwise quite plain wardrobe. However they seem to have really lost that USP over the last five years and now I see their stuff as very vanilla and overpriced.

I prefer Cos and Arket for quality. H and M premium range for price, hush for the odd piece (but always in the sale as they are overpriced and the quality is iffy). I’ve bought a couple of things from Boden recently Shock which I never thought I’d do again because so long as I steer clear of their wacky colours and buttons I quite like some of their stuff and I’ve found it good quality.

Hush, Mint Velvet and Boden have all gone a bit Instamum for my liking though with their rainbow tops etc and the look has become so naff it makes me cringe!
