@Oubliette love today's outfit! I demand more photos! Definitely want to see how you style parkas and snow boots!

MelanieFrontage · 02/12/2019 09:48

I’ve got a Christmas jumper on 😂

Ellapaella · 02/12/2019 09:58

@OublietteBravo I love the trainers with tights - it works really well.

Thank you @Ellapaella and @Sooverthemill - I am ridiculously pleased with it 😂 It's from Warehouse and I've scoured the website to see if they have any others in the same cut but sadly I don't think they do.

Really like your outfit today @OublietteBravo - I always feel like I should be wearing boots at all times in the winter but your trainers look fab with tights and skirt. Have a great time in Iceland!

PinkDaydreams · 02/12/2019 12:44

@KiteflyingKat your jacket is lovely! Seems a lot of you manage to get some good bargains from charity shops. Shame my local ones are awful! Moth eaten and out of shape clothing aplenty!!

Sooverthemill · 02/12/2019 12:52

@Pink our charity shops are dreadful too. It depends where you live. When we lived in our old village there were great bargains to be found,

happytobemrsg · 02/12/2019 18:03

I agree - more photos please @OublietteBravo!

Love, love, love your jeans @KiteflyingKat. I’ve yet to brave mom jeans but you look amazing in them. Can I politely ask what size you are?

I’m like that too @PalacePaper, when I find something I like I want to buy it in all colours if possible!

Ladies I’m back to work tomorrow Grin I’m not feeling too anxious & I’m looking forward to catching up with people. I really hope I don’t get any judgement for returning to work after only 4 months off - it’s only 2 days a week & honestly it’s good for my MH

KiteflyingKat · 02/12/2019 19:29

@happytobemrsg best of luck for tomorrow. No judgement from me. I found maternity leave so tough, I was so lonely and isolated, I failed to make “mum friends” and looked forward to my return to work. I do feel my mental health is better now I have more of a balance.

The Mom jeans in today’s picture are a Topshop size 10. They are pretty tight, as tight as I’d want them round the waist and bum as they aren’t stretchy. My other pair of Mom jeans (further up the thread) are a Topshop 12 and fit comfortably with a little room to spare.

I know a lot of people size up in Topshop. I’d say I’m really a size 10, although like most people I have a whole range of sizes in my wardrobe Hmm

Ellapaella · 02/12/2019 21:15

@happytobemrsg good luck tomorrow Thanks
My eldest (17 now) was only 8 weeks old when I had to go back to work - I was a single parent and had just qualified as a nurse so had no choice but go fo back.
I had 9 months off with my second and only 6 months off with my third, could have taken a year but I like work and enjoy my job and actually loved going back! Anyway, good luck, I'm sure it'll feel like you never left after you've been back for a few hours and at least you might get a chance to drink a cup of tea in peace?!

Ellapaella · 02/12/2019 21:16

@KiteflyingKat I definitely have to size up in TopShop. I'm usually a 10 in most high street stores but a definite 12 in TopShop.

happytobemrsg · 02/12/2019 22:12

Thanks both! There’s a lot of judgment from family members but I’ve got to do what’s right for us. I suffered with PND with DS1 & although I don’t have it with DS2 (thank God), I know from experience that getting back to work, even for a few days, will be really good for me. DH thinks me getting out of the house will mean I’m less snappy too Grin

Looks like I’ll really have to try the jeans on. Maybe I’ll save that for my SBS shop.

Oh btw I think I’ve finally cracked it with the jumper over dress combo!!!!! I bought the most amazing black, ribbed, roll neck, cropped jumper from New Look & it’s perfect! I tried it with my New Look leopard print maxi from the summer & I LOVE it. Very happy!

Ellapaella · 02/12/2019 22:33

Fabulous!

I got my SBS analysis tonight and I'm an autumn hourglass, isn't that the same as you?

OP posts:
happytobemrsg · 03/12/2019 08:00

Yes!! Did you get a style personality too? I’m a Girl Next Door with an Edge. I’d expect you’d be the same!

Talisin · 03/12/2019 08:35

@OublietteBravo definitely want to see the Iceland outfits!

@happytobemrsg Good luck with work today.

It’s December which means daytime sequins Grin Dressed them down a bit with a massive jumper today as it’s early in the month yet.

Jumper (TU)
Sequin skirt (Warehouse)
Boots (Deichman)

Sooverthemill · 03/12/2019 09:03

@happytobemrsg I hope today goes well. I went back when DD who was premature was 5 months and it broke my heart but she had great care and we needed the money. Most of my NCT friends did the whole year but we couldn't afford to ( 2nd marriages and DH had heavy maintenance to pay). You always do what you can for your children.

So today it doesn't seem so cold and as I have oodles of BF jumpers due I'm just in tshirt and jeans
Top: hush not sure when but at least a year old
Jeans: old jigsaw Hampton
Trainers: jigsaw olivia

I want my colours done again , had them done in 1990 for first major promotion. I was a soft spring. Pretty much confirmed the colours that suited me but helped me choose a red that was good. On the back of it I bought 3 new suits that lasted well for years. I did an online style analysis and came out as girl next door/ ( so Jennifer Anniston). Which I'm happy with!

Sooverthemill · 03/12/2019 09:07

Oh and I need to know what shape glasses suit me! I have no idea what my body shape or face shape is I haven't a clue

OublietteBravo · 03/12/2019 13:29

Hello from Reykjavik!

I give you outfit #1 (travelling):
Cashmere jumper: Boden
Jeans: Gap
Trainers: Jigsaw

It’s not actually all that cold here, so I will be changing to a thinner jumper shortly (I’m not going to bother with a photograph of outfit #1b though).

(It’s grey, cloudy and rather damp here at the moment)

Sooverthemill · 03/12/2019 16:29

Yay! You're there. Good travelling outfit. I'm expecting sealskin or something similar ( although that's a bit cruel really)

KiteflyingKat · 03/12/2019 17:24
  • Jumper - Second Female via charity shop
  • jeans - Topshop
-Boots - Timberland

Ive been reading the threads with posters saying skinny jeans are out of fashion & size 10-12 isn’t slim Hmm so I’m doomed Wink

What are you wearing today? Countdown to Christmas
Sooverthemill · 03/12/2019 17:47

Skinnies are back in. Because of knee length boots you can tuck them in). A quick read of any fashion thing would tell you that. And 10-12 not slim? Maybe for a catwalk model but that's insane.

Sooverthemill · 03/12/2019 17:48

here? But the trend now is full length not cropped

Ellapaella · 03/12/2019 18:29

Ach everyone's been saying skinny jeans are over for years... it's fake news 😉
Maybe if you live in a certain corner of Uber trendy London and you're of a certain age no one wears them but the rest of the country seem to be keeping the skinny jean love alive.

I love other styles of jeans and didn't wear my skinnies at all this summer but I'm very much back in them now the cold weather is here as they are prefect for wearing with boots and jumpers.

And I saw that thread about size 10-12 not being slim, what a load of bollocks HmmConfused I am the same height and a 10-12, normal healthy BMI and if someone told me I was overweight I'd have to wonder what was wrong with their perceptions of health/body size not mine.
It's just more predictable shaming from the vipers - ignore ignore ignore.
