Thank you for the lovely comments. The leggings were an attempt to be less frumpy so I’m glad I’ve succeeded in that even if I do feel a bit ridiculous and out of my comfort zone in them!

The basics thing is tricky at the moment as the youngest is still a baby and still breastfed so while I’m back in most of my old clothes, they don’t quite fit like they did before so nothing feels quite right. Have quite a selection of ill fitting clothes but am hoping to rectify this!

Crumbs Carnabie-if I had your legs I'd be wearing leggings all the time! They look amazing!
It's freezing here today so I've got an oversized jumper from Primark over a long sleeved t shirt, denim mini from Warehouse, thermal tights that I got in Canada and brown Chelsea boots.
And a pashmina thing that I found in my office wrapped round me whilst I work.

Welcome @Carnabie why not hang out on this thread to get some inspiration? I joined this thread because I felt like a frump and had stopped making an effort after having a baby. It’s helping me force myself to make an effort to get dressed into “proper” clothes.

@Sooverthemill sorry I’m not saying where I live. Let’s just say I live between 2 very affluent towns where a lot of people work in London/ the City and have a lot of cash. Excellent for charity shopping!

Where my mum lives they have one (or maybe two now) charity shops and it really is full at tat. I’m lucky where I am. ~although what I save on clothes goes on the cost of houses in this part of the country~

I reordered the mint velvet leggings and will try shortly. I also ordered the Spanx ones so will try them too but think they are a bit shiny!

I could do with a few longer length thinner jumpers. Suffering terribly with hot flushes so Chunky knits aren’t great 🙈

Running errands with DH this morning. Need to order some radiator covers.

I ordered a very nice jumpsuit from Zara for work last night. I have a black one from MV which is lovely so I’m hoping this is as nice. I bought a new watch last week so I’m supposed to be on a bit of a spending freeze! Will have to start shopping my wardrobe again.

I’m wearing the leopard jumper from & Other Stories today with black Zara jeans and black Chelsea boots. I got the jumper after seeing it on the last thread but I’m terrible for saving things rather than wearing them! I feel really good about my outfit today

Gah. Mint velvet ones too baggy. Ordered the Spanx too. For lovely. So comfortable had them on and off numerous tones as just nothing to wear with them! Back in black skinnies and a grey jumper. Same old 😞

Those who have the Spanx ones, where do you get them? I've looked but they are very expensive! I'm hoping to wear my MV out tonight. Trying to decide whether to go cosy in longline jumper ( having dinner in casual place) or with a top and jacket.

Been working all week flat out so no time to post but enjoyed catching up. Some fabulous outfits. @Talisin you look lovely in your photo, you have a great style. I'm also loving the leg warmer cuffs.
I have a very boring outfit of:
Black whistles skinnies
Brown Chelsea boots
Grey fine knit Jigsaw roll neck
White Jaeger long sleeve tee.
I'm being a kids taxi service today and we might go to the park so I need to be warm.
Will also be sporting an ancient top shop duffle, cashmere jigsaw snood and cashmere Brora hand warmer things.

@KiteflyingKat I really like your outfit You are good at putting things together. I’ve noticed that not having too many different colours works well, so toning a scarf with your other items rather than just a random colour.

Thanks @twosoups1972. I try to put things together that complement each other rather than go too matchy matchy. But I avoid wearing all one colour (generally) so for this outfit I chose my brighter blue jeans rather than my black ones to add a bit of contrast.

I bought it in Topshop Oxford Circus when I got my first proper professionally qualified job. It was quite expensive and I remember being a bit uneasy about spending that much, but it’s been a classic investment piece.
