I’ve had fat reducing injections

I got them today. I haven’t told anyone. I’ve lost 5 lbs and I’m happy with how small I am except the tub at the bottom of my tummy. I’m booking in to get my love handles done if this is successful.

Apparently these have always been huge everywhere... other than here. They’ve been around for years but are just entering the UK market.

Fingers crossed. I just wanted to tell someone!

Do tell OP! These sound miraculous. How did you go about getting them?

userxx · 23/10/2019 22:20

Eh? How the hell does that work 🧐

GoFiguire · 23/10/2019 22:21

Where do you get them from? GP or dentist?

FurrySlipperBoots · 23/10/2019 22:21

Isn't losing multiple pounds in a day a recipe for loose skin?

PersonaNonGarter · 23/10/2019 22:21

Snake oil.

Sohololopopo · 23/10/2019 22:26

@PersonaNonGarter what on earth is snake oil?!

They’re called Aqualyx. It basically dissolves fat over a period of time, in hard to get rid of places. So I’ve got it done right at the bottom of my stomach and I’m getting it done on my live handles if this is successful.

So really today, I can’t tell you how good they are. My stomach is swollen right now, and it hurts. But this is to be expected and was advised.

The clinician basically directly injects it into your fatty bits and disrupted it evenly throughout.

It’s meant to dissolve the fat into water diabetics can’t have it done.

Well people a lot bigger than me have had it done without loose skin so I hope not or I’ll have to go under the knife!!! But apparently not!

Tolleshunt · 23/10/2019 22:49

I’ve never heard of this, so had a quick look online. OMG, it looks like the answer to my prayers for my double chin/incipient jowls!!

Can you keep us informed how you get on over the next wee while, while the swelling subsides?

Sohololopopo · 23/10/2019 22:51

@Tolleshunt yes! A lot of people get it on the chin!

Yes I’ll post the before and after pics, and let those of you interested know how it goes! I’m excited though in a bit of uncomfortable pain right now!

sunshine5997 · 23/10/2019 22:52

Oh OP! Sounds amazing. What's
The cost roughly?

Sohololopopo · 23/10/2019 22:52

@PersonaNonGarter Nope this isn’t deceptive marketing at all. I’m not in the business... though I am a saleswoman... I can see from my OP how you might have thought that though. Soz!

OP posts:
BastardGoDarkly · 23/10/2019 22:53

Blimey! How much are they op? And do you need you keep having them?
Oh and how longs it taken to lose 5 pounds?

Jellybean100 · 23/10/2019 22:56

How much did you pay?

Sohololopopo · 23/10/2019 22:57

@sunshine5997 well mine was £180 Introductory price for approx a 15cm piece of fat (the bottom of my stomach). So ridiculously cheap really! But it is a ‘small’ area. So it would cost that much about for your chin i would guess which is what a lot of people go for.

I just wanted to talk about it because I’m too embarrassed to tell my friends, even though there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. Even my partner doesn’t know Ha!

My stomach has swelled quite a bit but that was explained.

The pain was fine, but the clinician used something within the aqualyx which apparently makes it sting a lot less, so I was very lucky as a lot of clinics don’t use it apparently to cut costs.

OP posts:
Tolleshunt · 23/10/2019 22:58

How painful is it? I hope not too much. I saw from one of the sites that you’re not meant to take ibuprofen afterwards, which is a bit of bummer if you’re very sore.

Sohololopopo · 23/10/2019 22:59

I’m really sorry everyone my OP is shite!!

I’ve lost 5lbs myself through exercising and dieting... So not off the injections! I’m really sorry if that was misleading.

I put that there because I’m at the weight I wish to be but have this little podge at the bottom of my stomach that just will not budge!!!! It’s stubborn fat! So that is where I have had the injections x

BastardGoDarkly · 23/10/2019 22:59

Wait. You lost 5 pound on the first day?? How does that even work?!

BastardGoDarkly · 23/10/2019 23:00

Oh I see, cross post, sorry Smile

RickOShay · 23/10/2019 23:00

I hope it works!
Bloody good idea.

Sohololopopo · 23/10/2019 23:02

@Tolleshunt I’ve taken ibru! And have remained fine as far as I’m aware!

Well the needle itself is quite large around 10-15cm. So I began to freak out when I seen it at first. She lined up the fat I wanted rid of and then inserted the needle. One insertion on each side of the flab. I have bruising on each side when the needle has been and it’s very tender. I can’t exercise for 1 week. The pain was uncomfortable and cringey, kind of not as bad as I expected really!

OP posts:
Sohololopopo · 23/10/2019 23:03

@RickOShay me too! Or I will not be happy at all!

OP posts:
OrangeHue · 26/10/2019 07:16

When will you see results and post pictures?!

user1480880826 · 26/10/2019 07:20

What exactly are they injecting into you? And who is the “clinician”? Are they medically trained? I’ve got to say, I would be extremely reluctant to let someone who wasn’t a medical professional inject random substances into me.

RandomMoth · 26/10/2019 07:21

Also watching! When do you expect to see results?

TamingToddler · 26/10/2019 07:28

I think deoxycholic acid stops your birth control working, just incase you're on anything!

minesagin37 · 26/10/2019 07:34

What are the contraindications op? You say diabetics can't have this done so I'm guessing this is not without it's risks? Did you sign a consent?
