If you're going to wear a cardigan with it, I think a black one would go much better. I like the dress and boots combo. Not a big fan of the fishnets.

SameStory · 22/10/2019 16:45

You look cool- in a "I don't give a shit about the fashion rules" kind of way. You pull it off!

sheshootssheimplores · 22/10/2019 16:50

You look great OP 😍

Chloemol · 22/10/2019 16:52

BKACK it’s,be, black Woolley tights, different cardigan

Chloemol · 22/10/2019 16:52

God I hate my iPad. Should be black boots

Somebodystired · 22/10/2019 16:55

I love this so much. It is the exact kind of outfit my best friend would wear and completely pull it off (much like you are!) and I am always so envious of her style.

Crystal87 · 22/10/2019 17:42

You don't look stupid. It looks ok.

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 22/10/2019 17:56

I think you look ace :)

Widowodiw · 22/10/2019 18:05

Black tights, with black belt, leather jacket or even a denim jacket. Pair of black dms or I got a pair of black boots from m&s as couldn’t afford the dms. Leave the cardigan at home for when you get home.

Krisskrosskiss · 22/10/2019 18:10

I really like it! I'd go out like that and I'm in my thirties.
I think if youd like it if you saw someone else wearing it then you should just go for it. Everyone has different tastes so you will get a variety of responses on here positive and negative. It only really matters whether you actually like it or not!

Moondancer73 · 22/10/2019 18:13

Love it, and don't change the tights although it would look nice with solid tights.
I wish I could pull that look off.

Ellapaella · 22/10/2019 18:17

Looks great but personally I don't think the grey cardigan works with the orange dress.

Ellapaella · 22/10/2019 18:18

A navy or black cardigan would look better, I think it looks a bit mismatched. But everything else is great.

Wheat2Harvest · 22/10/2019 18:28

Is this a wind-up?

It looks awful! (Sorry!)

InglouriousBasterd · 22/10/2019 18:47

OP you have fab legs Grin I like it! I feel cold looking at those tights, definitely get some opaques too (they will look good with the leopard print!)

Tautologi · 22/10/2019 19:33

I’m surprised at the str my reactions, you look pretty normal. Just a notch up from jeans normal, it’s fairly unremarkable but better than average. No one with look twice, but you look like you make some effort to look a bit better than a jeans uniform

3dogs2cats · 22/10/2019 20:08

I like it. Think it might look a bit cliched with black boots. I love the cardigan , but I think brown or orange would be better with an orange dress and brown boots, or yes to the Be bold, it’s great

MrsJakeLovell · 22/10/2019 20:15

You look fabulous! If you wanted, you could layer the fishnets over plain opaque tights for quite a cool look too x

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/10/2019 20:35

It's a bit of a mix up. I don't like the fishnets. They make it look a bit teenage Emo. With black tights, it'd be okay as a schlepping around outfit, although not something I'd personally choose. I like fishnets, but think they need a longer skirt/dress.

Runningonempty84 · 22/10/2019 21:10

Just looks like a weird "pulled some old clothes from the back of the wardrobe" mash-up to me. Sorry OP; it doesn't work. The dress might be ok with different tights. I personally wouldn't wear that cardy out of the house. And the fishnets just look cheap.

Inthemoment38 · 22/10/2019 21:11

You look great. Go for it

HundredMilesAnHour · 22/10/2019 21:29

Sorry OP but it looks like you got dressed in the dark. Each item on it's own is ok but they don't work together. They look dreadful when combined.

That dress only looks ok under the cardigan. Without the cardigan, it's clear that the dress doesn't flatter you at all. It makes you look much more bulky than I'm sure you really are. The colour of the boots is wrong, same for the fishnets. Fishnets don't work with the boots nor the dress.

And for whoever posted that no-one walking down the street would notice your outfit, I beg to differ. My immediate reaction was "Jeez, did she get dressed in the dark?!"

None of these comments have anything to do with age btw.

APeakyBlinder · 22/10/2019 21:49

I think it's great! The Cardi balances the fishnets. An alternative look is unlikely to get 100% approval on Mumsnet because of the wide range of posters/ styles. If you like it wear it- if you're not sure then wear it out the house once and you'll soon find how you truly feel in it!

imclaustrophobicdarren · 22/10/2019 21:54

@HundredMilesAnHour has worded that fantastically 👏

MidnightMystery · 22/10/2019 21:56

I really love your style!
