Micronets or opaque tights would look better. The cardi swamps the dress and would be better suited to a jeans/trousers outfit. The dress/boots combo looks great.

MrsPellegrinoPetrichor · 22/10/2019 10:21

Swap the tights, fine apart from them Smile

Qu1tter · 22/10/2019 10:21

Show us it with the khaki jacket.

BeesKnees4 · 22/10/2019 10:23

I’d go for more like this, more flattering and shoes off your legs.

Meh, keep the cardi if you like it and it feels comfortable which is always my first priority when buying clothes.

I think you look fab,it's not totally my style but you didn't ask if it were.

Keep rocking your look

MarianaMoatedGrange · 22/10/2019 10:32

Love the dress and boots. That cardi is dire, though. Depressing. Doesn't go at all well with the dress.

Meirou90 · 22/10/2019 10:34

I agree with whoever said black tights, bomber jacket and maybe black boots. Smile

MrsMaiselsMuff · 22/10/2019 10:35

You need a longer length cardigan or jacket to smooth things out. This is out of stock, but there are lots of similar styles about.

I've been looking at lots of pics for inspiration, and key to me is expensive looking boots. They don't need to actually be expensive, but they'll give polish to your outfit. Supermarkets can be really good for boots.

Mrsjayy · 22/10/2019 10:37

Put your fishnets under yourholey jeans and buy opaque tights and you willook fine i love your boots

FFSnotanotherone · 22/10/2019 10:37

As everyone else says! Solid tights, swap the boots for black ones, ditch the cardy

IShitGlitter · 22/10/2019 10:39

I plan to wear the tights under my holey jeans next Grin

Tu boots are always highly recommended on here, and they've 25% off this week.

Honestly, it looks fine. Ignore all of these comments because they are personal taste. In reality, nobody would look at you walking down the street and think OMG look at that CARDIGAN it just DOESN’T GO WITH THAT DRESS!! It’s a standard cardigan over a dress for warmth, and it’s autumn. And the comment about dragging you out of the nineties and wearing some fly London boots because you’re only young is wrong. 90s fashion is very cool for young people right now and fly London boots tend to look very ‘mumsy’.

You’ll only get people talking about how they would style the dress to their own particular taste. I don’t like fish nets at all so I could say “oh no, lose the fish nets”, but you clearly like them or you wouldn’t have bought them. I would wear it with either the cardigan or the leather jacket, i think they’ll both look fine.

Mrsjayy · 22/10/2019 10:47

I plan to wear the tights under my holey jeans next

And why not Grin

Mrsjayy · 22/10/2019 10:50

I don't know why people think your boots are not right i have 20 something dc and they wear boots like yours with skirts and dresses.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 22/10/2019 10:51

I think you look really fab OP.

Lovemenorca · 22/10/2019 10:51

Change the tights
Other than that - a nice daytime outfit

LilyJade · 22/10/2019 11:13

I would wear the dress but choose slightly different boots & definitely wear black tights.
You just need a biker jacket.

I think you look great in the dress without the cardi.

MrsMaiselsMuff · 22/10/2019 11:17

The boots aren't right because they look like cheap boots. They don't fit properly either.

(That's not critical of the OP. No one would look good in cheap looking boots.)

Delatron · 22/10/2019 11:24

The boots look fine to me. How can you tell they look cheap and ill fitting? From a picture?

I love chunky boots. I think you look great OP. Style is a very personal thing. I would just switch in to some opaques. I guess the point is that the cardigan dresses down the dress, as do the boots.

InkyFANGERSInkyFace · 22/10/2019 11:28

I absolutely love it.

I need a new pair of boots, my last fluffy topped winter ones collapsed. They were cheap.

I can't manage dresses and especially tights, unless it's autumn or winter so I make the most of this. Hell yeah. Wear what you want. I think it's super

RainWoman19 · 22/10/2019 11:29

Dont change the cardigan, tights or boots! Just wear it if you like it.

SpookilyBadOooooooh · 22/10/2019 11:37

I think it looks good in your first photos. You look taller & thinner than without the cardi (not being mean, I’m fatter than you!) I think a bomber jacket will make you look chunky. The fishnets are fine too, as are the boots.
