Can I pull of this look or do I look stupid?

I am normally a jeans and jumper mumsie type aka frumpy but I thought I was a teenager again and ordered chunky boots and fish net tights and an orange dress. Put it all together with my "granny" cardy ......do i look ok am only 29 but feel like am dressed like am 16 again

You have lovely legs. Nothing wrong with the fishnets at all! It probably would look nice with woolly tights too though, for a change.

Lose the cardi, or leave at home.
I wear dresses that length with thick tights/leggings, and I'm 60 something. Less clumpy boots though.

The boots look cheap and ill fitting they look nothing of the sort nothing like being snooty for the sake of it !

I think some people are answering a question you didn't ask, which is whether what you are wearing is to their taste.

The question is, do you like it? If yes then wear what you damn well want

Honestly, I don't think you look ok. It doesn't look remotely thought about. The tights and boots are really not a good look but neither is the dress either. I could go on but I don't want to come across as being mean. The pieces could be worn but all separately

I love the short dress, tights, long cardigan, chunky boots look, but I don’t like those boots. Black biker boots or DMs would look brilliant. The tan of the boots is too close to the orange of the dress - it doesn’t quite work. But the concept is great, and I love the dress.

Its not the greatest of outfits, to be honest. Nothing to do with age. The individual elements are fine but I'm not sure about putting them all together. Lose the fishnets.

I braved it and wore it out only went to the shop but still my husband loved the outfit the lighter photos are just what it look like ....and I am cleaning that mirror asap!

The dress is a smock dress from Boohoo am going to get the leopard print one today I think. They do a ribbed version aswell.

Oh and I want a pair of DMs too!

I would change the tights for a solid block colour and it will look fab and autumnal

I wear dresses and chunky boots like this. I world style it with thick tights, and I would try a belt under the bust. I have a leather spiky one I would wear to pull you in and draw the eyes to the thinnest part. If I didn't wear a belt id try a floaty shirt or a waistcoat Over it 😂 but then I'm no style icon and had to Google boden and joules so don't meet the stereotype mner. Glad you wore the outfit out and your partner loved it 👍 conviction is half the battle. You do you 🥰

I think the dress looks better with the card, but I don't like the boots at all sorry. The sole is just too chunky.

I reckon DMs would look better.

You can pull off that kind of look no problem but the fishnet tights are just wrong. I am over 50 and would only wear that cardi in the house no matter how cosy. Like some others I would go for opaque tights and black boots .

My mother once staged an intervention because she thought my cardi collection was getting out of hand! I also like the boots and while I usually hate fishnets just for there very existance, I like them in this outfit. I think you look great op.
