The announcement said the tour was 14-18 Oct so I reckon they'll have another couple of engagements tomorrow. They've been to Islamabad, the mountains and Lahore. Maybe Karachi tomorrow to cover off all the major Pakistani cities?

I really really want this conversation to have happened;

K is given the plastic tiara to wear
K: This is pretty. Do we have one like this?
W: I’ll ask Granny when we get home
K (to little girl) If we find a diamond tiara like this then I will wear on in my next special occasion and if you see a photo of me wearing it, then I am wearing it for you.

Please Kate. PLEASE! 👸

Rhubarbisevil · 17/10/2019 21:11

Sorry

“I will wear it on my next special occasion”

Rhubarbisevil · 17/10/2019 21:15

Google is a wonderful thing. Do you think HMQ will lend it to Kate?

LenoVintura · 17/10/2019 21:34

What I love about that picture of Kate and the little girl in their tiaras is that the little girl looks like she wears one all the time and Kate looks like she's never worn one before Grin . Looks like she's just shoved it on her head with no clue Grin.

JaimeBronde · 17/10/2019 21:41

I hope so Rhubarb I feel HMQ is far more generous with sharing her tiaras than the QM was.

Leno I would have loved it if William had worn a tiara too! That would have been so funny.
I really hope the little girl in the photo gets better. It's so cruel when children get cancer/serious illnesses.

QueenOfTheAndals · 17/10/2019 21:45

Ah just seen they're doing a couple of engagements in Islamabad tomorrow morning and then flying back around lunchtime.

StCharlotte · 17/10/2019 21:46

Oh that picture of William "taking tea" and Kate and the little girl in their tiaras is adorable!

banivani · 17/10/2019 22:02

Well sometimes a little social media break is for the best. Hope to see all posters who are leaving back soon.

I want to add a link to Queen Silvia looking very glam in Elie Saab

www.svenskdam.se/kungligt/5-magiska-bilder-pa-silvia-drottningen-stjal-showen-pa-resan/

Lebanese designer for a visit to Beirut! I think the way the gold tendrils creep up the mesh is quite daring for a royal.

I wonder if W&K got back to Islamabad ( they had 2 aborted landings )
Everyone just came for the day on the RAF jet.

Peek inside the RAF Voyager.
It’s not that comfy. Definitely no flatbeds

Very glam Bani. Thanks for sharing it.
It doesn't look like a usual Elie Saab number either.

eurochick · 17/10/2019 22:24

They look like standard business class seats that convert to flat beds to me.

JaimeBronde · 17/10/2019 22:34

I posted a link to the RAF Voyager two or three days ago.
Does no one read the threads properly at times?
I've noticed this quite a lot. Someone posts something e.g Princess Anne's Playmobil Collection (don't know if she has one Smile )with links to it.
Then either hours/days/a few pages later someone else posts exactly the same thing as if it's never been mentioned before.
I know this can happen accidentally but I find it annoying especially if the new poster gets thanked & the original poster doesn't.
Though I know we can all be a bit absent minded at times.
Obviously it's different if on a previous thread as we all do repeat conversations at times.

QueenOfTheAndals · 17/10/2019 22:37

These threads can move fast, especially when there's a royal tour on, and it's sometimes easy to miss things.

thisenglishlife · 17/10/2019 22:42

Kate's Urdu pronunciation was very bad but I'm glad she gave it go. Jemima Khan's Urdu is really good by the way. There's also a video of Will Smith singing a Hindi song unprepared and his pronunciation is good too.

JaimeBronde · 17/10/2019 22:44

Queen you are very diplomatic like the real HMQ (that's a compliment btw)
Yes these threads are as fast as Formula 1.
Have you got a new title lined up for the next thread yet?

SenecaFalls · 17/10/2019 22:49

These threads can move fast, especially when there's a royal tour on, and it's sometimes easy to miss things.

Also to forget things. I admit that I may not always be functioning at optimum cognitive levels when I am on these threads. Smile

Relative to an earlier discussion, I do, however, see almost everything through a feminist lens. It's not a lens I can easily cast aside.

frugalkitty · 17/10/2019 22:50

I have to say the looming end of the thread is perfectly timed with the end of the tour! What's the next occasion we have to look forward to, anyone know?

JaimeBronde · 17/10/2019 22:53

Seneca you are always on top of things & have great knowledge.
You've recommended Curly & me (under a different username) quite a few royal books to read.........must finish Princess Alice.

SenecaFalls · 17/10/2019 23:41

Thanks, Jaime. I think I might reread that book about Princess Alice this weekend.

Horsemad · 17/10/2019 23:45

The Tea & Tiaras picture is gorgeous!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 18/10/2019 02:15

William looks like he's an old hand at princessy tea and tiara parties. What's the betting he's attended one or two of Charlotte's!

mathanxiety · 18/10/2019 05:16

I mean I presume they would expect her to dress modestly/appropriately but do they really expect people to dress like the locals when in islamic countries?
Pallisers

I suspect it might be easy to give offence and that the locals dress the way they do for reasons that are nothing to do with fashion but refer more to cultural values (and also practical reasons related to climate).

Saudi Arabia recently announced it will issue tourist visas and will relax strict dress codes for foreign female visitors. Female tourists will no longer be required to wear an abaya but still have to wear modest clothing - there is suspicion they will import cultural values that are not welcome there.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 18/10/2019 05:36

@JaimeBronde
I didn’t see your link to the RAF Voyager
It just came up when I was googling to see where W&K are.
I post a fair bit here, and I agree sometimes things I post are not noticed and repeated by someone else.
I’m not bothered; I think it’s a bit of a “community “ this thread so the more people who post; the richer the content for everyone..

Btw, I didn’t get very far with the Princess Alice book. ( I spend way too much time on the internet!)

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 18/10/2019 05:45

Tailer for Harry and Meghan: An African journey
This is the American version.
I presume the British one will have a different voiceover.
Harry comes across as very emotional.
He’s basically saying that every time he sees or hears a camera; it reminds him of his mother’s death; but it’s part of his job. That must be a really messed up feeling.
I do feel sorry for him. I suspect he needs a bit more therapy.
It is his core belief that his mother was killed by photographers ( paparazzi). He really needs to dissociate that from his working life.
I personally thing they are paving the path for a move to the US.
Understandably there is huge interest there in Meghan as she is American.
However as long as Harry is in the public eye, there will be press.

H&M don’t so much want privacy as much as media they can control. Not the same thing.
