Pallisers, that might be true for a non-Islamic country.

Agree with Bertrand that both W and K should be observing local dress codes if codes are an issue.

WineOrGinOrBoth · 17/10/2019 18:58

I like the fashion & history & skim through the rest. I’ve contributed lots from the start under various usernames Wink

I like these threads as they are usually far more pleasant than others which are more often just royal bashing ones. IMO.

mathanxiety · 17/10/2019 19:01

Whatever William wears it’s still just going to be trousers and a top, at the end of the day.

This is very true too...

QueenOfTheAndals · 17/10/2019 19:01

Goodness I don't think we must always be agreeable on these threads! Nothing wrong with debate and we all have different tastes. I just prefer to keep the critiques to the clothes rather than the women wearing them, otherwise we'll end up like no end of deleted threads.

Ninkaninus, sorry to see you go, as I would be for anyone on this thread. I think we all generally ‘agree to disagree’ quite graciously and successfully - but also appreciate you wanting to leave for your own reasons.

On a royal note, Sophie has been busy in Pristina: mobile.twitter.com/RoyalFamily/status/1184857007041449990

really? would women in Pakistan not be interested in western fashion. I mean I presume they would expect her to dress modestly/appropriately but do they really expect people to dress like the locals when in islamic countries? I didn't realise that was a thing.

That said, I loved her white outfit and her hair was just lovely in that ponytail.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 17/10/2019 19:38

I liked the sparky green dress.

I thought some of the clothes were a bit costume-y, but then Kate does like her literal interpretations of dress code.

thisenglishlife · 17/10/2019 19:40

(I'm not Asian but) I've been to Pakistan twice (and India three times) . Lots of women wear western or western inspired clothes and have uncovered hair. Many women were well educated, spoke excellent English, had jobs, wore their own choice of clothes, etc.

Even in the Kare/William cricket photos there is a woman playing cricket in Western clothes and with her hair in ponytail.

paradyning · 17/10/2019 19:40

Sophie's dress looks really interesting. And cleavage! Like that colour pink on her

Horsemad · 17/10/2019 19:51

Sophie suits that colour - daring dress for her!

. She says a few sentences in Urdu. Or at least I assume it's Urdu!

X post @QueenOfTheAndals Grin

MotherofPearl · 17/10/2019 19:54

I certainly don't think we all have to agree - and we don't - but the generally light-hearted and convivial tone on these threads is, for me, a blessed respite from the real world.

Spudlet · 17/10/2019 19:58

@Ninkaninus Please come back if/when you feel ready - you’ll be missed! But sometimes a social media detox is just what we need to get rebalanced. Flowers

AppleKatie · 17/10/2019 19:59

Not only is she getting more confident - William there proving my point about how it’s almost impossible to look relaxed and supportive at all times while your spouse is talking 😂

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 17/10/2019 20:01

Lady Helen Taylor went through a phase of wearing Islamic ( men’s) clothes when pregnant

CPV on a visit to a plastic recycling plant. Apparently the colours of the little circle brooch represent the UN's sustainable development goals and she has coordinated with little glass earrings.

I remember that @CurlyWurlyTwirly! Always thought it was a bit odd. Why men's clothes??

OP posts:
MotherofPearl · 17/10/2019 20:11

I like that colour blue on CPV.

queenofarles · 17/10/2019 20:14

That’s some interesting mix of clothes worn by Lady Helen, Sudanese ? Nigerian? Or both.

MrsGrindah · 17/10/2019 20:20

I do think Kate seems to have genuinely loved this tour and enjoyed wearing a different style of outfit. I’m a staunch anti Royal so she’s really causing me to feel conflicted!

StartupRepair · 17/10/2019 20:29

I think K and W have done well on this trip.

Wetdogloveshubert · 17/10/2019 20:45

I do think we should all take a moment to appreciate K&W taking tea with this beautiful child. What a lovely visit.

What an eventful day it's been! I found an amazing series of pictures on instgram earlier that I wanted to share, but lost them when I switched windows (grr). These threads are a very good escape for me. I know nothing about style or beauty, so have learned a lot on here. Thanks to all for the education!

So are we thinking that's it for the tour or will there be a last visit tomorrow morning?
