@mathanxiety I hadn't noticed the 'eyeroll of death'! Grin Not sure how I missed it!

FiveTwoFaster · 16/10/2019 23:07

I am utterly delighted that the (presumably commonwealth?) outside world get a good look at Princess Anne sometimes; Olympic medal winner, attempted kidnap victim and loving granny. I think she’s well worth exporting. Even if her hair isn’t as good as Sophie’s.

RomaineCalm · 16/10/2019 23:32

I quite like Kate's 'brown ensemble' today apart from then shirt - it would have looked better with a fine-knit jumper imo. I'm not sure though what her other options were - assuming that the 'go to' skinny jeans/trousers are discouraged for cultural reasons, the terrain is rough, the temperature fluctuates and it's possible that they were advised not to stand out with bright colours.

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 17/10/2019 01:11

The Daily Mail comments section is a truly dark place. It's where the unevolved lurk...

This made me laugh. I hope the Daily Fail publish this thread!

I didn’t think much of Kate’s outfit today either way but I have low expectations of Kate’s daytime wardrobe at any time. She is great at gowns though.

Triglesoffy · 17/10/2019 06:44

I would like to refer back to @7salmonswimming’s post yesterday - I’ve been in the outback of Pakistan and it is a very patriarchal society. There are some places and situations where it is not expected that a woman should speak.

This is directed at remote tribes (where they were) and not Pakistan in general (before someone comes on to flame me) and probably explains why Kate held back at that bit.

QueenOfTheAndals · 17/10/2019 07:10

Busy day in Lahore today for W&K. She's giving her first speech of the trip too, at a child welfare organisation.

@DevonUkelele yes I think you’ve muddled the body shapes up. Hourglass is all boobs and bum with a small waist. Pear is generally small boobs and waist with big hips and bum. Apple is a thick waist and flat bum with slim legs.

peridito · 17/10/2019 08:31

I think the word 'apple' often conjurs up an image of an apple core !

beanaseireann · 17/10/2019 09:19

All the threads I'm on appear in Watching also.
Does that happen to anyone else ?

BlingLoving · 17/10/2019 09:23

This thread doesn't appear on my "Threads I'm on" on my phone (samsung) app. Drives me potty. But if I use my computer or iPad they reappear. It's a weird bug.

William and Kate have arrived in Lahore
Beautiful ShalwarKameez, not nice shoes.

I wish William would acknowledge the RAF captain as he comes down the stairs.

I presume that RAF plane is there for the duration; ready to whisk them away should there be any problems.
I wonder how it works. Do the photographers and press go on the same plane, get out first, then W&K sit on the plane till they do their official exit? Confused

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 17/10/2019 09:25

Hopefully better photos later.
Apparently they are going to a mosque today

There is a lot of detail on today's outfit I still
Prefer the blue though.

It does seem rude of William to not acknowledge the RAF captain I imagine it's protocol though I'm not sure what or why

It’s supposed to be a 4 day trip.
I wonder if they are leaving tonight? Or that excludes Monday.
Friday is the weekend in ME countries. Not sure whether Pakistan follows that rule

AdaColeman · 17/10/2019 09:28

I love that photo of Princess Anne in the clinic.
The man is saying, "The baby is placed in this flat tray, and then the scales show us the exact weight of the baby." Wink Wink

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 17/10/2019 09:29

Kate has looked very comfortable in her shalwar kameez ‘s
I’d always be worried about the scarf falling off

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 17/10/2019 09:35

It’s a beautiful lightweight fabric.
The shape really suits her. The cigarette cut shalwar / pants are much better than her skinnies and wide culottes. I hope Kate incorporates more cigarette pants into her uk wardrobe and the skimming tunic shape into her dresses.

paradyning · 17/10/2019 09:35

Love the d'orsay shoes

peridito · 17/10/2019 09:36

Not keen on William's dark shoes and light laces ,I'm afraid he looks a bit of a mess next to Kate .

peridito · 17/10/2019 09:40

actually Wm's shoes dont look so bad in pic in paradyning's post . But he does look rather casual .

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 17/10/2019 09:51

Max was wearing Zimmerman yesterday.
I’ve been looking at their site
I wish Kate would wear more of their clothes.

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 17/10/2019 09:54

I think they both look great.

Pakistani style makes Kate look so stylish. She really should change her usual (awful) frock coats to trouser suits and jackets. It make her look smarter, younger and more stylish as well as giving her her own definitive style.

SirSidneyRuffDiamond · 17/10/2019 10:03

I think that William does briefly speak to the flight lieutenant as he passes him. He wouldn't return the salute as he is not in uniform himself. In those situations my DH (who is a senior military officer) would simply make brief eye contact and say a quick "Thank you" in passing.

PinkSun9 · 17/10/2019 10:06

Kate's periwinkle blue salwar suit was bought from London based multi label store, O'nitaa, which also supplied the "patriotic green" sherwani for PW.

HepburnKNotA · 17/10/2019 10:10

I love Kate's outfit today - LOVE IT - until it gets to her feet.

Would it be utterly inappropriate, in her position and by the customes of the country she's visiting, to wear some really wow shoes in a bright colour? With that simple, elegant outfit I think some amazing turquoise heels would look great, for example. I know she can't do sandals (am I right?) but a more 'summery' shoe in feel would help.

However, I mainly came on to say I can never get over how much she looks, in the face, like Diana. I'm no major Diana obsessive or anything but there are sometimes photos of Kate that are breathtaking in terms of her resemblance. I won't link as it's the dreaded Fail but there's a pic in there this morning (I know...) where if you took off her hair and replaced it with Diana's blonde hair, they'd look like twins.

I know they do say people subconsciously choose partners that look like their opposite-gender parent...

Am I the only one who sees it? Is it just me??!
