Wolf & Badger is now stalking me:
Letizia
Meghan
Surely only Maxima??

Oh god- you’ve had it now! I bought some stuff from Wolf and Badger last Christmas and they haven’t left me alone since!

AudacityOfHope · 16/10/2019 15:26

And me. If only they knew they're wasting their time with me. In a million years I'd never spend £300 on one item of clothing Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/10/2019 15:36

I actually do quite like that Letizia dress but wouldn't spend £259 on it!

Kate`s outfit looks like a cowgirl outfit as worn in westerns. Very practical I would have thought.

Becles · 16/10/2019 15:48

Maybe she was trying to be understated. Had she donned a glitzy gown then she'd have been accused of trying to steal Kate's thunder

My train sat outside the station for 25 minutes by this morn morning and I was forced Blushto read the Daily Mail HmmGrin

So many of the comments under their article about H&M last night lambasted her for wearing green when W&K also wore green.

Apparently it was a backfiring scheme to undermine W&K by a woman no better than she should be trying (and failing) to steal the spotlight.

MrsGrindah · 16/10/2019 16:39

Well yes how dare two women wear the same colour at the same time?!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 16/10/2019 16:57

That would be Meghan green?

The Daily Mail comments section is a truly dark place. It's where the unevolved lurk...

Saw this pic and it made me think of the thread. The way the girls are peering at Kate wonder what there opinions on her cow girl/dr quinn/explorer look Grin

I suspect there are many dress code issues that K in particular must avoid in Pakistan. The waistcoat appears to echo the waistcoat (it probably isn't called a 'waistcoat') on the gentleman to W's left on the wall, so perhaps a choice made in order to not look completely western.

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/10/2019 17:19

Some amazing pictures of the glacier and mountains they visited today. Must be interesting to William as I think he's got a degree in geography?

OP posts:
JaimeBronde · 16/10/2019 18:19

Yes William has a degree in Geography. He started doing History of Art at St Andrews. He didn't like it & wanted to drop out. Kate (who was just a good friend then) & some other friends persuaded him to change to another course instead of just leaving, so William changed to Geography which he loved.

TSSDNCOP · 16/10/2019 19:04

I’m wondering if the skirt at least was a nod to local culture and if it’s a norm for females to wear a dress/skirt vs. trousers.

Like the boots and the waistcoat. In the context of the setting overall it looks ok, but I’m not sure I’d spend actual money on the skirt or shirt.

7salmonswimming · 16/10/2019 19:07

Just watched a clip of W&K up by the glacier. I've been in similar territory. It's at altitude, inhospitable geography, they're in a foreign culture way outnumbered by people speaking a language they don't understand, with food and water they're not used to, they're jet-lagged, they've been on show on-stop, and the time difference won't help in FaceTiming their children. There's no denying this kind of trip would be challenging.

BUT, I don't think K is as adept at this sort of thing as W, H&M. She looks like the Queen: dutiful, but holding back. Diana, William, Harry, Meghan - they look like they enjoy it, unless it's William looking at semi-clad tribal women, and he just doesn't know where to look. Kate excels at the glitzy bits and the cosy comfortable bits: the gowns, looking regal, Chelsea flower show, anything to do with children (even there in the Hindu Khush). But foreign travel that's outside her normal comfort zone, she look like she's doing it because she has to. William was loving it up there, I really think he believes what he was talking about. Kate looked like she couldn't wait to get back to civilization.

StCharlotte · 16/10/2019 19:14

Kate looks like a coal man.

AppleKatie · 16/10/2019 19:22

Just watched that clip I’m not sure it’s fair to say Kate looks uncomfortable in the environment. Essentially she’s stood next to her husband talking and feels that she can’t speak too so just has to nod along. I think that’s hard to do.

I certainly can’t do it it with mine at parties never mind with the worlds media watching. Imagine the fear that he might fuck it up and cause an international incident.

hopeishere · 16/10/2019 19:22

I think photos can't really capture how engaged they are.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 16/10/2019 19:41

From the many, many pictures in the press Kate looks pretty engaged to me! I imagine there was quite a buzz, with the whole village turning out in force, and in colour.

As another poster has said, it won't have been the most comfortable day given the terrain but Kate's a trooper and just gets on with it. That's one quality she shares with Meghan, actually.

MrsGrindah · 16/10/2019 19:43

I couldn’t disagree more about Kate feeling uncomfortable. I think she always comes across as engaged. So does Meghan. They are on show from the second the put a foot out the door when they are on tour. There’s bound to be some footage of them looking a bit tired our distracted etc. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t happy doing it.

peridito · 16/10/2019 19:59

Actually I don't mind the outfit now I've had a better look .I guess it is appropriate not least for a long day in dusty rural conditions .Wouldn't show the dirt .

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/10/2019 20:03

Apparently Kate's shirt was actually a shirt dress from MN favourite Mint Velvet. No id on the skirt yet but not sure who'd want to purchase it!

They're in Lahore tomorrow and apparently have several engagements so we may see more than one outfit.

OP posts:
peridito · 16/10/2019 20:05

In it'swinetime's post at 17.03 that pic has some rather fed up looking kids above K&W .

I bet they'd been got ready early and were waiting for hours....

peridito · 16/10/2019 20:06

Was she wearing a skirt on top of a shirt dress ????

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/10/2019 20:10

Apparently she's had it shortened into a shirt @peridito. Though it really wouldn't be that hard to find a brown shirt!

OP posts:
SilverHawk · 16/10/2019 20:10

I'm sure the man putting the white coat on William is the Tuk Tuk driver.
It makes sense if you think about it, a sort of local body guard.
