I'm sure Kate's outfit is extremely practical but it is also extremely hideous. Even if she taken just the waistcoat off it would be slightly better.

Would trousers have been a no-no for Kate? Seems more sensible for what they are doing. The waistcoat is awful.

Meghan is maybe in denial - having been a very slim person getting used to the idea that you are not going to get that figure back would be hard. Combined with the fear of wearing new clothes for fear of being deemed profligate!

Now I see Kates outfit with the scarf, in the context of the (beautiful) landscape, yes the outfit is hideous, but it does also completely fit in with the occasion and the surroundings.

No word on who Kate's skirt is by but I didn't think they made them like that anymore either! Maybe she has a dressmaker who can knock such garments up at short notice.
