How many outfits of Kate's will we be talking about in 25 years?

Maybe some of those Erdem classics HmmWink?

JaimeBronde · 15/10/2019 09:22

I love the colour of Kate's shalwar kameez & the embroidery is exquisite.
A friend of mine has many of her kameez made by her older female relatives & the kameez are beautiful.

queenofarles · 15/10/2019 09:29

I really love it,

JaimeBronde · 15/10/2019 09:30

Going on to another member of the royal family I found this footage of Queen Victoria & have posted it before I forget www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-48427315/queen-victoria-as-you-ve-never-seen-her-before

Beautiful again today from DoC, an excellent start!

paradyning · 15/10/2019 09:41

Those shoes are very 90s which seems to be 'coming back jn'

I think she does gorgeous evening wear and overseas outfits.
I still remember dresses from the year she got married.

She may be a safe dresser; but she’s had more hits than misses. ( mainly Erdem)

Maxima wearing a satellite dish to a tech summit in India

MrsGrindah · 15/10/2019 09:47

I don’t think wearing cheap shoes is patronising ?Wearing a tiara everywhere would be patronising! I don’t like them but I guess she’s thinking about comfort . Bet she doesn’t get much time for rest and her feet might still be puffy.

AdaColeman · 15/10/2019 09:51

Kate looks so much better in today's richer shade of blue, and it's a pretty style.

I think her shoes are a sensible choice for dusty uneven ground, I often feel sorry for her as she teeters across cobbles in ankle breaking stilettos!

Pakistan are hoping that this tour will help it become a tourist destination, so looking forward to seeing some of the countryside.

BertrandRussell · 15/10/2019 09:53

Wearing a tiara everywhere would be insensitive- wearing cheap shoes is patronising!

Anyway- I still like the getting off the plane outfit best - although it did have a touch of the “Incredibly advanced alien Captain Kirk is going to break the Prime Directive by having sex with” about it.

thisshitgotreal · 15/10/2019 09:57

She actually had two pairs of shoes on which were very similar - one with the block heels and then a flat pair. I much preferred the flat pair and dont know why she didnt just wear them the whole time! I did have to trawl through the daily fail pics to see this though...

Amanduh · 15/10/2019 09:58

Love that colour on her. She looks radiant. Don’t like the shoes but they are practical for the day. I see she changed into flats when they went to the hills. I love watching William and Kate interact; I think they do it very well and always seem very involved and interested. They come across well.

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 15/10/2019 09:59

I agree her evening gowns are beautiful. But I think people are very enthusiastic about her style when abroad because it is such a change from the usual awful clothes she wears in the UK.

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/10/2019 10:00

Here's a new Kate invention - a coatdress khameez!

Max's dress looks drab to me, a rare miss for her. I think I read that Wax flew the plane they were on to India. I know he has worked part time as a commercial pilot for years.

paradyning · 15/10/2019 10:13

Her flat crossover pair are much nicer than the block heel!

Max loves that hat, I've seen her wearing it dozens of times.

I think the green dress/coat looks like a trench coat. I much prefer her clothes so far this week to the usual dull unstylish clothes. If she wore those trousers and a trench coat in the UK she would look so much better. It would look like she had an actual ‘style’. I’m aware she is currently not making a style statement.

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/10/2019 10:27

I can remember Imran Khan being quite the looker back in the day. Who'd have thought he'd end up PM!

BlingLoving · 15/10/2019 10:28

I like the green outfit. And I think the style of trousers she's wearing actually suit her very well.

I think there's a big difference between wearing a tartan dress while visiting a museum in Scotland where all the locals are just wearing their normal jeans, jumpers or dresses, and wearing clothes that match what the locals wear. In that arrival video, the women were wearing similar outfits.

When I visit scotland I wear my usual clothes. But if I were to visit a country like Pakistan, I'd also consider adapting slightly to take local customs and social norms into account.

I hope we do see william dressed in similarly local clothing at some point - perhaps for formal or semi-formal events.

BertrandRussell · 15/10/2019 10:32

“ I hope we do see william dressed in similarly local clothing at some point - perhaps for formal or semi-formal events.”

I will eat my hat If that happens.

margotsdevil · 15/10/2019 10:38

Apparently the flat shoes are Russell and Bromley so also high street albeit at the other end of the price spectrum!

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 15/10/2019 11:04

I feel about Hmm at Kate all dressed in traditional clothing, or an homage to traditional clothing, and William in his usual clothes.

What’s with that?
