I wonder if Kate's dress is light in colour so she stands out more in the dark evening

bohemia14 · 14/10/2019 22:18

Kate's outfit is lovely and she looks glowing. I don't like the shoes with it at all

AdaColeman · 14/10/2019 22:19

Charles usually wears a tartan linked with one of his Scottish titles, Lord of the Isles Hunting or Rothsay Hunting.
Her Maj often wears Stewart which Queen Victoria was entitled to through the female line, and there are several versions of it for different occasions, Old, Royal, Dress, Hunting etc.
Only HM can wear Balmoral tartan unless she invites you to! It was of course designed by Prince Albert! Smile

Like so much of the RF tradition, {being focused on charity work for instance}, wearing tartan is quite recent.

paradyning · 14/10/2019 22:24

Max. Max. Max. What the fuck you doing??
Deary deary me. That is mental. Even for Max. Who I dearly love usually.

paradyning · 14/10/2019 22:26

(Referring to the blue lace number linked above, not the other outfits which look great!)

paradyning · 14/10/2019 22:27

Even Wax is Wtf here

Goodness me, the blue number is really odd! How can one person get it so wrong and so right on the same day?

QueenOfTheAndals · 14/10/2019 22:33

I blame jet lag!

Am i the only one who doesn’t rate that black Diana post-divorce dress? It’s just doesn’t look stylish to me at all with the bodycon style tightness and the sheer black tights.

megletthesecond · 14/10/2019 22:54

Max's dusty pink dress is perfect. I'd like to see the embroidery close up. Any idea who made it?

megletthesecond · 14/10/2019 22:55

As in, close up photo. I'm not going to track it down in real life.

MotherofPearl · 14/10/2019 22:58

New My Royals says the dress is a bespoke design by Jan Tamininau. Not a designer I'm familiar with.

megletthesecond · 14/10/2019 23:09

Thanks mother.
His website has amazing couture dresses. Can't see anything similar to the one Max wore though. He likes his embroidery.

You are looking at it from the eyes of 2019. You need to see if through the eyes of someone a quarter of a century ago.

Diana didn't always get it right but her love of clothes was plain for everyone to see. They didn't date particularly well but that is fashion. It tells part of the story of the time.

Kate will not make so many errors in her choice of clothes but neither will we ever look back at her clothes and see fashion through the ages. She is neither fashion forward or stylish. She doesn't have to be but it makes for far less interesting clothing and future reflection.

Overseasmom100 · 14/10/2019 23:20

Kate looks stunning tonight. So looking forward to seeing her outfits

PanicInAmerica · 14/10/2019 23:44

@CurlyWurlyTwirly Err, no it isn't the first time you've seen Harry holding Archie Grin

Persimmonn · 14/10/2019 23:48

Placemarking! Pakistan badly need this tour to be a great success to turn their reputation around. Look forward to Kate’s dresses and really hope she wears a native designer..she put Anita Dongre on the map when she went to India. Pakistan has incredible fashion designers with an exquisite eye for detail. Can’t wait!

beanaseireann · 15/10/2019 00:04

Kate looks anazing. Has she been away in the sun ?
The dress is beautiful. Has she just got off a plane after a long flight !!!
Perhaps her feet swelled up on the flight and the shoes chosen were too tight, so the trusty nude heels came out. I think her silver heels would have been inappropriate- too "going to a ball" like.
PastaParadise you and I must have the same taste- you wrote what I had. been thinking.

One thing for sure is the the truth in the saying ".... but you can't please all the people all the time." So many different opinions on this thread. Smile

If I were the Middletons I'd be so proud of my lovely daughter.

itswinetime · 15/10/2019 00:06

From the look of her feet I would hazard a guess the only sun Kate as been near is st tropez or whatever the go to celeb fake tan of the month is Wink

beanaseireann · 15/10/2019 01:30

Itswinetime
The tan looks very natural. I was sure she'd been away in the sun.

itswinetime · 15/10/2019 01:59

I might be wrong I think it looks great everywhere but to me her feet have a orange tinge of course that could just be the odd lighting.

thatone · 15/10/2019 06:19

I'm not keen on Kate's light blue ensemble. I don't think trousers go with the shape of her dress. i think the dress needed to be looser. Also don't like the colour, just seems very plain.

DevonUkelele · 15/10/2019 06:29

Kate and Wills begin day 2 of their tour at the Islamabad Model College for Girls.

Now this is a nice colour on her! By local designer Maheen Khan (according to Rebecca English, whose Twitter these pictures are from).

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/10/2019 06:43

That's a better colour for her and she looks nice but those nude block heels are hideous!

There's a reception at the High Commission tonight so we should see a glamorous frock.
