I love browsing the what are you wearing today thread but being plussize (Size 26) I often can't take inspiration from it. I wondered if any other size 18+ would like to share what they are wearing today?

Hi @Gemi33 and nancy looking great as usual! Oversized jumper from brave soul, usual leggings and brown chelsea boots. Excuse the mess, in my defense it's my teenage daughters bedroom and that's as tidy as it gets!! Heading out later want to get some basic fine knit v neck jumpers to wear under the masses of cardigans i have.

Oh and good luck in the Rugby for all the English fans!

Anyone know where the best place to shop for upto knee leather/sued boots.

I've ordered from next and can only zip up to my calf (not above) and I've ordered some from 💔 yours (for the bigger calf) and these were way to wide and very gappy.

Im despairing now. It's embarrassing going into a shoe shop and asking for a six 6 please and when they come I can't zip them up.

I've not got overly large claves (hence the baggy ones) but I must have larger than average!!!!

Shame about the rugby! (English) DH was a wee bit disappointed, but not terribly so. I think just getting to the final and beating NZ was achievement enough!

@Usernameismyname01, I have a pair of brown leather knee boots which I bought in Office when pregnant with dc1 (who is now almost 5yo)! They're still going strong, although I have had to have them resoled once and repaired a few more times since I've had them, but they do get a lot of wear. Anywho, they have a stretchy panel in the side, so they fit a bigger range of calf sizes. I'm not sure if they will have them this season, but definitely worth a go. My calves were a bit puffy when pregnant and they fit me then. I have quite strong calves now too and they still fit. I'm a size 7 in shoes and a 16 in trousers for reference.

@usernameismyname01 Try looking here for wide calf boots. I have a pair of black suede and dark brown that I love.

If you’ve got cash to splash you could go to Duo boots who do multiple calf widths. They look gorgeous I have to be honest. Although expensive they’ve got 20% off at the moment.

Thank you to whoever recommended the Sainsbury’s girlfriend jeans... I couldn’t get my size online but I nipped in today and found a pair in-store. I don’t actually have money for clothes at the moment so I’m blaming you lovely ladies. Ohh and I’ve bought a new cozzie as part of my fitness plan which arrived today.... it’s by Zoggs and I’m really happy with it.

Before I post today’s outfit I wanted to say that these dresses arrived yesterday and I’ve just tried them on and they’re really lovely and I’m impressed with the quality. They go up to 20. I got the 18 in both and, even though I’ve been edging more towards 20 lately, and definitely today due to time if the month plus bit of a pizza binge last night (I don’t even particularly like pizza ) they fit well.

This first one is a lovely wrap dress that was a generous fit so I reckon the 20, which is still in stock, would fit up to 22 if not above - depending on norkage and how much you’d be happy to show! It’s a true wrap so there’s leeway to size up or down. Its a little summery but I think it would be nice with some navy or even a brighter blue opaques?

This one is not so generous although as I say the 18 was ok on me when I’m probably more of a 20 today. The issue was I struggled to get the narrow waist bit, which is super flattering once on but doesn’t have much give, over my boobs. It was quite a wrestle squishing them down to get it over, but once it was on everything fit really nicely! I’m an F cup or thereabouts, any bigger and I don’t think you’d get it on at all.

Got DP to take this photo for me of outfit today - he was a bit like this when I explained why ....

Anyway it’s a Dorothy Perkins jumper (18), new look pinafore dress (20) and I can’t remember where the tights are from. Both a few years old. I was rummaging in the bottom of my wardrobe and rediscovered these boots from years back from Boden of all places. I love them! Sorry for the crap pictures, my phone is on it’s way out.

I like the fact that the towels drying in the background are the same colour as my jumper and boots - I do love a purple/burgundy shade.

@Divebar, I am planning to go swimming on Monday for the first time in years, (other than splashing about with dcs). I've dug out a swimsuit and it's...ok, but if I find the swimming easy enough with putting ds into creche, I'll maybe have to do some swimsuit shopping 😬!

I bought this one from SimplySwim. It’s got hidden cups which seem ok for my G cup boobs. I’ve tried Speedo before which have been impossible to get on with ridiculous criss cross straps at the back you need help with. I’ll let you know after tomorrow how I get on.

Diesel love that jumper!

Alias love your pinafore I have just ordered two pinafores from Whitestuff with the 20% off. I ordered in 20 and 22 but the 20 is a better fit so either their sizes are generous or my diet and cheating is working lol. I am 6ft.

My Snag tights turned up today. And they are all far too big for me around the leg / thigh . I wasn’t sure whether I would be an E or F, so ordered both, but now thinking I should have gone for a D. Although that might be too small around the waist / hip.

I’m keeping them because with a midi skirt and knee boots no-one is going to see how baggy they are, but anyone know somewhere else that does good tights for average height apple shapes?

Oh no @FruitSaladSandwich! What a shame! I am a 5'8", size 16 apple, so I went for size E and they are great on me. I also like M&S heatgen tights, which I think I take a large in, but can't remember off the top of my head. Such a shame about the Snags though 👎.

@Divebar, I am also a G cup! YY, please do let me know how you get on. I used to love swimming but haven't gone in ages. My old swimsuit is from Bravissimo and it is too small if I'm being totally honest. But it will do for now. It's a bit tight round the bra strap bit, so if I find I'm getting to the pool enough to justify it, I'll definitely get a new swimsuit.

@AliasGrape, why thank you! I am partial to footwear, as long as it's easy to walk in! Can't be doing with massive heels. I admire people who can actually walk in them though.

Dress is pretty shapeless but easy to throw on. Worn with little black ankle boots.

@FruitSaladSandwich my Snag tights arrived as well. I ordered the short in black but the others are normal length - I’m wondering now if they will be up to my neck

Next shirt size 18, Peacocks skinnies 18 and Primark van rip offs 😂

I've really noticed how people posting pics all look lovely regardless of size. We need some more self love! Love seeing the pics, apart from the fashion I just feel I belong

Funny, I think everyone else on here looks fab but if anyone says I look ok or better I immediately think 'aww, that's nice but they're just trying to make me feel better' 😂. It is making me think though that I don't look as bad as I think & this thread has made me realise that I definitely look & feel better with a little more effort put in.

I'm in pjs watching shit tv with wine & sewing Harry Potter patches onto a hoodie for ds 10th bday on Wed.

I'm planning outfits for a few days in that London. I highly recommend boden Richmond trousers for pear shaped folk. I've had them in navy for ages but found some new ones for £15 on eBay in a lovely dark teal colour so they are going in with some jersey trousers & maybe 2 dresses for evening fun

Can any other pears out there recommend pinafores or dungarees that work? Realistically I can't imagine any do. Please post pictures if they work for you, fellow pears!

@picklemepopcorn I have this one from Yours Clothing. It's not amazing quality but it was cheap. They have a few different options in this style, it's fitted over the bust and waist and flares a bit over the hips/bum.

This is me today in the snuggly Tesco jumper- 22, I should have gone down a size maybe, it's wrinkling at the waist.
The skirt is old next I think- I've opened up the wristband to make it fit.
And the magic mustard snag tights.

Really cute outfit popcorn. You probably could've gone down a size in the jumper, but I'm always going for the bigger size for comfort. I hate tight things round my waist.

sillybillybandy, you do look fab. And buckeejit, I love your outfits and I especially loved the three outfits you posted recently from Tu. Definitely not saying that to make you feel better!

The thing is, that when I go out, I usually see people, of all sizes and think they look really stylish, neatly put together or really pretty / sexy. I cannot honestly remember the last time I thought something negative about somebody else's outfit. But when it comes to myself, I'm obviously a lot more critical. I'm sure that's the same for all of us, so when people are complimentary we don't believe it, yet we generally think mainly complimentary things about other people! So really, we should believe it when we get it back. Brains are weird .

Last day of half term here. Looking forward to doing some exercise today and tomorrow which always makes me feel better. I actually have some muscles showing on my arm now and I love it. I'll never be skinny or wait like, but I definitely feel better if I feel stronger. Helps when hoisting children about too 😂.

Jumping in towards the end of the thread if you don't mind, I'm an 18/20 6ft tall with large thighs, at work I have a uniform, but I'd love to neaten up my 'off duty' look but struggle to get jeans and trousers long enough in my price range.

Todays outfit will be maroon cord dungaree dress, with a ripped Queen tshirt under, black tights and leopard print Chelsea boots. Or rather it will once I can drag myself out of PJs.
