Ooh and thanks for the belt info, I'm looking at my old ones and trying with those and I thunk I really need a 'statement' belt ( my mother is turning in her grave) like leopard or zebra but not too expensive so will look at the JL properly tomorrow. Am having the day from hell today so don't want to splurge while emotional!

twosoups1972 · 22/10/2019 19:45

Oooh @sheep so glad the Toast cardigan lives up to expectations. Looking forward to a photo!

miffy2 · 22/10/2019 21:01

Well, two of my massive H&M orders arrived and the other two are due tomorrow. Most is going back, thankfully, including the oversized round-neck cashmere jumper. I fear beige is just not my colour, much as though I want it to be.

Really from the haul, all I need is the coat (want, not need, I guess) and a cardigan or two for layering at work. Everything else is surplus to requirements so I am being ruthless. My local H&M is useless in terms of stock though so I tend to order online.

I am keeping (and have already worn) the black pile (teddy) coat. So snug today as the October weather made itself known.

I am also holding on to a rust coloured cardigan as I am hoping it will go well with a skirt due tomorrow.

Hopefully you can see the links, as I cannot get them all up on the UK site.

In other news, ASOS have a promo on and I ordered the Spanx moto leggings. I have the regular pair and love them so much. I decided I am going to get more wear out of my Hush Felix tunics and other short dresses, so these leggings are the way to go. I may let DH give them to me as part of my Christmas present ;)

Finally I like the look of (surprise surprise) the new metallic print velour pleated skirt from Hush, and may get it if there is a promo code!

miffy2 · 22/10/2019 21:10

@sooverthemill good article. I like MLC, have followed her for a while. Her style and mine are not completely parallel but I have certainly got some good tips from her and I like her writing style.

Interesting to read a bit about the company; I am glad they are managing their own expansion and really hope hey don't get swallowed up or bought over by another corp.

Sooverthemill · 23/10/2019 08:52

Here are 2 bad photos of the new jeans and 1 of a different pair of jeans I already have . Opinions? The new boden ones are comfy and I think look better in real life. I like them both still but do the straight ones suit me? My bedroom is so dark!

You look great soover - though with your figure you'd look great in anything! To be honest, though, I think I actually prefer the fit of the old jeans. The boden ones are good, and I know the style is different, but they may look a bit big? I have had that trouble with boden, where the legs are a bit flappy though the waist seems ok. And I have enormous hips/thighs compared to waist ... Could you try sizing down?

Sooverthemill · 23/10/2019 09:43

This is what they looK like on the incredibly slim and probably tall model!

Love the straight leg jeans :) Are the new boden ones the first two? I think they look great.
@NotAnActualSheep please put me out my misery and post a picture of the gorgeous cardigan!!!! I would love to see it in the flesh!

Sooverthemill · 23/10/2019 21:43

@never yes first two are new boden jeans the third is old pair of jigsaw Richmond skinny ( but not that skinny). I'd almost decided to send them back! I may think on it a bit longer. Wondering about having them taken up as if I turn them up they sit better. I think I quite like them but not sure enough

Musicforsnorks · 23/10/2019 22:22

@Sooverthemill I know everyone prefers straight jeans now, kind of because they’re supposed to be more current but you look truly amazing in the skinny ones. That’s just my preference but that is an enviable fit, I love them!

Sooverthemill · 24/10/2019 09:04

Tried them on yet again and I think they will go back. I'm just not sure and don't want to end up with yet another thing that I actually never wear.

neveradullmoment99 · 24/10/2019 11:12

You have to be sure :)

neveradullmoment99 · 24/10/2019 11:24

Well surprised no one has made comments on the new collection. Not really sure what to make of the clothes. There are a few pieces that I like but not ones that jump out at me. The only thing I really like is the star scarf. Oh it is beautiful and will go perfectly with my moto!!
Moto is gorgeous btw. I will post some pictures later :)

neveradullmoment99 · 24/10/2019 11:28

I wonder if they will put up a 10% off. If anyone gets one let me know!!! Despite buying a ton of stuff from them I am never the first to get the 10% code.

Ellapaella · 24/10/2019 11:32

Had a brief look through and I love the look of the off the shoulder top with the silver skirt. Also love the metallic high neck, think it would be great with coated jeans/leggings.
And those lovely burgundy boots.

I think you've made the right decision soover. I find if something doesn't feel quite right, or it's always difficult to find the right footwear or whatever, it never really gets worn enough to justify the wardrobe/ drawer space.

Sorry never! I totally forgot yesterday... See, it already feels like an old favourite I forgot it was new! Here it is just as protection against our freezing house. And you can also put a belt round it like toast have in their lookbook ("lookbook" Halloween Hmm).

I'm the same with the new collection. I think there are some nice things, but nothing that is shouting BUY ME NOW. Which is just as well... I agree the off the shoulder top /silver skirt combo is lovely ella. But there's the whole strapless bra faff to consider...

(sorry the photos are so blurry. The light is bad and I can't get a clear photo...)

Ugh..and how I hate that!!
I love love love your cardi contemplates selling whole wardrobe on ebay to buy it Grin

neveradullmoment99 · 24/10/2019 12:09

@Ellapaella I hadn't even noticed the metallic roll neck. Totally gorgeous.

neveradullmoment99 · 24/10/2019 12:10

Also love the other picture but I don't have the occasion and when I do, it tends to be very dressed down.

neveradullmoment99 · 24/10/2019 12:12

I love great plains. Have had a few things in the past that I have bought from shops. Lovely quality in the past. I think they are a brand that are largely forgotten about but they have some lovely things.

neveradullmoment99 · 24/10/2019 12:15

Their sales are also very good :)

Sooverthemill · 24/10/2019 12:30

I like quite a lot of the new hush stuff and have several things in my basket waiting for a sale! Love the moto jacket ( but will not buy) and the metallic knitwear.

I like Great Plains too but pricey!

twosoups1972 · 24/10/2019 16:17

It's quiet on here!

@Sooverthemill thanks for posting that article, it's always good to see how clothes look in real life.

@miffy2 love your H&M haul - are you keeping?

twosoups1972 · 24/10/2019 16:21

@Sooverthemill I agree send the jeans back if you're not sure. I am still on the hunt for jeans!

@NotAnActualSheep gorgeous cardigan Smile I am lusting over a Toast jumper but it's £145!!
