In fact I've just gone on to gap to look but they styles are called different things now! Soups what style did you buy? ( mine were bought in 2005...)

twosoups1972 · 21/10/2019 08:46

@Sooverthehill they didn’t have a huge choice in my size but I’ve ordered mid rise girlfriend, high rise cheeky straight and high rise cigarette.

Sooverthemill · 21/10/2019 08:51

@twosoups they don't have any in my size! Grr nor do banana republic ( am wearing their skinny straight now in dark indigo, again bought years ago). So I've just succumbed to boden slim straight but with discount £44. We shall see. I'm looking for more dark indigo this year fro some reason my lighter ones feel wrong.

twosoups1972 · 21/10/2019 08:59

@Soover I also like dark indigo, I have a lovely dark pair from Jack Wills but they’re skinny. Keep checking Gap, they must get new stock in.

Sooverthemill · 21/10/2019 09:03

Yes I imagine they get new stock daily! I also should look at j crew who I also love

Sooverthemill · 21/10/2019 09:10

Could someone talk to me about belts? Specifically ones to wear with jeans. I have old ones which are my size but which don't go around my jeans! I got 2 new 'jeans' belts from m and s last year but they aren't very nice. I would like one classic dark brown to wear with everyday jeans and one 'dress up' maybe leopard or a colour to wear fr fancy ( I a tu do not have fancy occasions but live in hope). People say a belt pulls together an outfit and I wore belts always with corporate work wear but now I live in jeans I'm stuck. Suggestions/ links would be gratefully received ( I can not afford 'the' Gucci belt)

Laska2Meryls · 21/10/2019 09:14

I originally recommended the Gap straight legs ,but have recently also had luck with these Per una straight legs. They are a good fit on me , but I had to size down as they are very stretchy and somehow dont feel much like jeans . They are supposedly 'ankle grazers' which are better for rolling up a bit at the bottom. to wear with trainers or maybe ankle boots

However the Gap ones are still my favourites but they are definitely made of stiffer denim. The Per una ones have tencel in them which makes them softer .. I have the black which really charcoal like the Gap ones

Sooverthemill · 21/10/2019 09:47

@Laska2meryls I love Gap denim because it's so stiff much more like proper old fashioned denim used to be before they put elastane in everything! But a bit of stretch is very forgiving isn't it? I've realised that I've not bought a new pair of Gap jeans since 2005 so I'm not sure about buying online,

twosoups1972 · 21/10/2019 10:12

I'm trying to keep away from buying any more knitwear but seen this lovely jumper from Cos, thoughts please?

Sooverthemill · 21/10/2019 10:47

@twosoups that is lovely

SoyYo · 21/10/2019 10:49

Love the Cos jumper Soups 👌

Sooverthemill · 21/10/2019 11:02

@SoyYo hadn't thought of John Lewis! Will look, thank you

Laska2Meryls · 21/10/2019 11:45

soover yes I do much prefer the Gap ones , but they never seem to have them in my size when i look atm.. These are a bit more forgiving on my tum, but then , that has to go , and soon !

Talisin · 21/10/2019 13:00

Ooh, I really like that JL star sud belt, @SoyYo. I actually prefer it to the (ridiculously expensive) Hush one. Think I may stick it on my Christmas wishlist.

Talisin · 22/10/2019 08:33

I really like the Petworth boots from the new winter collection. Not sure about the rest yet (I need a bigger screen than my phone really) but nothing is screaming ‘buy me!’ right now.

Laska2Meryls · 22/10/2019 09:51

Nor at me, Talisin ( which is a good thing, considering, my last few days) .I really like the snake Battersea boots , but not at £199 Shock

Somanyquestions2 · 22/10/2019 09:52

New stuff online, no discount code. Velvet, cashmere, cord etc.

Sooverthemill · 22/10/2019 10:04

I love the new cosy jumpers and the jennifer faux fur bomber! New blue girlfriend chinos too. But I'm not buying! Winter sale

Sooverthemill · 22/10/2019 15:41

My Boden jeans arrived but I haven't tried them on yet, too much happening here today!

twosoups1972 · 22/10/2019 17:21

Looking forward to seeing them @soover

Sooverthemill · 22/10/2019 17:57

@twosoups I quickly tried them on and I think I like them. Will do a photo when a bit more time

GinandGingerBeer · 22/10/2019 18:18

I have th jL dupe star belt @Sooverthemill. It's nice but has a design fault ime as the stars don't show at the front once it's fastened, which is rather daft! I did get an excellent leopard one from there though which was a bargain in the sale.

NotAnActualSheep · 22/10/2019 18:40

soups awwwww, I'm so glad you got the Disney land earrings sorted. I remember the one getting lost, but it was so kind of the lady to do that. Yy, restores your faith in human nature. Hope you get the holiday thing sorted. Sounds very stressful.

That cos jumper is lovely. Looks really versatile. As are the weird fish fairisle ones ella posted up thread. But I REALLY don't need any more jumpers sits on hands. The toast cardigan came and it is staying (in fact, I don't think I'm ever going to take it off..) I'll post a photo but I've been out and about today and when I've been home the light has been rubbish. It is really beautiful though Halloween Grin

I'd second soy's suggestion on JL for belts... They have a great selection. I got a narrow leopard one last year for jeans, which was about £20 and its great. I also did succumb in one of the discounts to the hush Ely (?) one... gold metallic with a sort of lattice cut out and it is fab quality too and very useful, so I don't resent the higher cost as I've bought cheaper ones in the past that look rubbish after a few wears. I'm a relatively recent belt convert tbh, (on the grounds my huge hips and arse stop trousers from falling down... Halloween Blush never grasped the fact that the fact the waist was always loose to accommodate said hips and arse was itself causing problems... I am truly beyond help... ) and I agree they can make an outfit.

On jeans, I agree the gap slim ones are great. And also I have some jigsaw "slim boyfriend" Halloween Hmm which are a nice cut. Also found some esprit ones in a charity shop that are allegedly skinny, but aren't skintight and don't go baggy at the knees. They are black with embroidered black stars and look v hush... And bizarrely I find sainsburys really good for jeans... (actually, looking at that, I'm wondering if I may have too many jeans...) Glad the boden ones are looking promising soover.

In the new stuff, I agree the burgundy boots are lush. And I also like the cord girlfriend chinos, and possibly the grey checked shirt. But not buying anything - at least not til a discount. My card needs to recover after toast...

Sooverthemill · 22/10/2019 18:58

Has anyone seen this round up of the new Hush stuff? I know she's not to everyone's taste but she does ( I think, I love her) have a very good eye for trends and so on so I do look at her blog if I'm thinking of a big purchase.
