So, Marsha has bought her blanket/huge scarf. She’s ready. It’s nearly time to get the boots and woollens out.......over here for friendly fashion chat and more.

I have knee high boots that I love but never wear because I always feel too hot in them Marsha. Those ones are absolutely stunning.

MrCollins Lululemon is so $$$ but the tights/leggings are great and last forever.

shopafrolic · 29/12/2019 19:35

I’m on the hunt for boots. Was looking at hiking boots or Chelsea boots but am no craving DMs so I recreate this pic with my M&S coat that DM got me for my birthday.

Love that look Shop perfect for you.

Interesting Lib I’m ok with the warmth but have an aversion to any extra work when it comes to clothes, ie getting them off quickly. So have ordered a boot jack.

MarshaBradyo · 29/12/2019 19:44

Also saw this which I think would look ace

shopafrolic · 29/12/2019 20:32

Maybe I do need to try DMs Confused

shopafrolic · 29/12/2019 20:34

God I’m in a world of chunky ankle boot confusion

shopafrolic · 29/12/2019 20:59

Now I need white jeans too

I think DM's are potentially the exact right match for your style personality shop. Aren't you a Dramatic Classic? They have the drama but are the classic 'tough girl' boot. I like all the looks posted by you and Marsha for you.

I'm hankering after some chunky boots too. I like the idea of them with midi dresses, like my boho 90's student look Grin - just a more groomed version. Problem is colour, I think a lot of DM / Hiker / chunky styles look best in black which I try to avoid.

Have you a verdict on the boots yet Marsha or are you waiting for the boot jack to decide? I agree on the fuss factor, anything that's hard to get on or off or that doesn't feel completely comfortable never gets worn.

libertyonhertravels · 30/12/2019 06:15

Dressing gown update, I moaned to a friend here about not being able to find one - she replied within a minute with a link to a perfect one - I need to improve my Kiwi online shopping skills Blush

MarshaBradyo · 30/12/2019 07:14

Ha good work on dressing gown Lib re DM I can see you with that look. I wish I could but I’m realising it’s not quite me. I did when I was younger but I’ve dropped all that side of dressing. It definitely is yours and Shops style.

I am tempted by a neater almond shaped boot with laces. Maybe still black. Hmm maybe turning myself around.

Boot jack is going to take a week to get here annoyingly. The boots are near to perfect - colour, quality, heel - but my most pressing need is something I can just wear in day. I’ll try them on properly today and see how it feels.

MarshaBradyo · 30/12/2019 07:14

Shop I think you should try some on they could all potentially look you’d imo.

MarshaBradyo · 30/12/2019 07:15

Look good

shopafrolic · 30/12/2019 09:42

Blimey Lib I never thought of it like that.

MarshaBradyo · 30/12/2019 10:03

I’m wearing the boots 🙈
There’s a lot riding on this boot jack. Plus I feel they need to wear in a bit.

shopafrolic · 30/12/2019 19:06

Got myself the hoody

Karcheer · 30/12/2019 19:25

Went to harrods and selfridges and bought nothing! I really wanted some Chelsea boots and/or ballet flats but there were none.
We did say goodbye to our boodles lady as she is retiring though, so not a completely wasted day...

shopafrolic · 31/12/2019 14:06

Blimey Karcheer I could have bought loads in Selfridges. Including this Z&V sweater that I’ve been lusting after for ages.

shopafrolic · 31/12/2019 14:09

these were bonkers from Gucci

shopafrolic · 31/12/2019 14:14

This Me&em jumpsuit looked good too

Karcheer · 31/12/2019 16:56

I was focused on sale stuff and there really wasn’t much as far as I could see, lots of new season stuff. Maybe I just missed all the sale stuff 🤔

DryWhiteagainW · 31/12/2019 17:02

That goes to the main page Shop

Hmm, I’m thinking about 2019 purchases. It’s been a calmer year for me. I’ve sorted my (still full) wardrobe and haven’t bought as much because I love what I have.
Nothing really stands out.

NY resolutions. To shift the half stone that’s crept on (and is making me feel a bit annoyed) and to buy some shirt dresses for work.

Anyone else?

OP posts:
Karcheer · 31/12/2019 18:13

I also need to loose about half a stone, seems harder to shift these days 😢
I want to get out of wearing jeans so much, they are no longer comfortable (probably because of my earlier point!).

shopafrolic · 31/12/2019 19:39

So ladies. I’m just popping in to say Happy New Year. This has been a horrible year, losing DF and having MrShop in hospital, cancelling travel plans because of back issues, the list goes on. I wouldn’t have got through it without my wonderful Voguettes. I am so happy to have you all in my life, I miss the ones who have left the thread but feel really lucky to know so many of you now IRL. You have bought a whole new dimension to my life, I’ve learnt so much and I treasure our friendships. I know they’ll last for many years to come.
May 2020 be the most awesome of decades for us all.

MarshaBradyo · 31/12/2019 22:19

Spreading the love too. I’m so glad to have you all here. Really truly I hate to think of the opposite. So much love to you all. Here’s to the roaring 20s. Let’s see another decade(!) in.
