Grin 😂

shopafrolic · 01/11/2019 14:08

I’ve just ordered both hats to try at home Grin
Epic fail I know but couldn’t stop thinking about them and need to scratch the itch.
Off our tonight for the first of my birthday celebrations. No idea what to wear as the weather is lousy.
Loving all the book recommendations - I am finally reading the Handmaid’s Tale before I start Testaments.

shopafrolic · 01/11/2019 19:09

Decided on Me&em sheer capped sleeve top with leather skinnies (thanks Lib), HL blazer (thanks Dry) and Dune caged heels (thanks The Frugality). Longchamp chain bag and umbrella. Have lovely evenings all x

Themarvellousmrsm · 01/11/2019 19:39

Have a good time tonight Shop, great outfit.

How was lunch Dry? What did you wear?

Marsha I loved The Hearts Invisible Furies. Not enjoying my current read though.

Am out for breakfast leaving dh to shout at the rugby in peace and dinner tomorrow. Think I'll wear the new Zara dress in the evening with a leather jacket & possibly flatforms. It needs dressing down rather than up.

Boden order has arrived so will try on tomorrow

Themarvellousmrsm · 01/11/2019 19:45

I'd quite like a longline boyfriend type cardigan to slouch around and wondering about this from White Company

this hooded cardigan would be my first choice but not keen on the price!

Blingysolightly · 01/11/2019 21:15

Evening!

I am supposed to be out tonight but I have bailed because I am so tired! So I am wearing my White Company cashmere hoodie, Abercrombie & Fitch grey joggers (one of my best presents ever!) and really sexy slipper boots from M&S.Grin

I always feel left out when people talk tv shows as I watch such little tv. Although I am on countdown to The Crown. One of my rellies is going home for the weekend to binge watch with his mum and asked if I wanted to join them. So tempted!

I don't have much in the way of fashion but I did buy something pre-loved this week. I have been looking for a slim gold bangle watch to go with my gold jewellery. Previous one slipped off at a party and got trampled on the dance flower. Anyway after 5/6 years of searching i have bought this Gucci bangle watch. (Not the exact one in the link!). I bought the stainless steel version back in 1999 to mark a special occasion and still wear it 20 years later so at least I know it's a good watch.

Other than that, I know Christmas season is about to start because the first jewellery catalogue arrived in the post for dh. That's not my reading recommendation by the way!! Okay, maybe it is!Grin

Karcheer · 01/11/2019 21:34

Does anyone remember me? Can I rejoin?

@Blingysolightly I had the Boodles brochure arrive today, it always reminds me of my brother and the Argos catalogue when we were children, he would do his Christmas list by circling things on each page... I’m sure my husband would appreciate me doing the same haha!

Applefairy · 01/11/2019 22:54

Blingy love that Gucci bangle watch. I’ll try to link to some of my recent buys.

Marsha I love Succession. Last weekend I was alone at home and was feeling quite exhausted and depressed and I actually lay in bed and watched it for the whole two days. Then got up, went for a run and a mani/pedi and came home and went back to bed. Most restful weekend ever.

Applefairy · 02/11/2019 00:31

Recent buy was this dress which I saw on Sali Hughes

Applefairy · 02/11/2019 00:36

Also this —jumper

Being in the Southern Hemisphere, there are a few weeks each year when the seasons change (October and April) when our temperatures are similar and I can take inspiration from your wardrobe choices!

Applefairy · 02/11/2019 00:39

This dress which I am in two minds about - looks better in the model but too late to return now

Applefairy · 02/11/2019 00:44

Also this Chloe dress - I rationalised it by telling myself it was better to invest in higher quality fabric for prints....

MarshaBradyo · 02/11/2019 07:12

Just wanted to say a big hello and welcome back to Karcheer and Applefairy will be back to look at links in a mo

I know re Succession, saw your post on threads I’m on on Succession one and me too. I started last night and I’m astounded at the character arcs they all go through. Incredible.

QueenCoral · 02/11/2019 09:24

Ha karcheer me and my cousins used to do that with the Argos catalogue and we’d randomly open pages and all have to choose something!

VivaVegas · 02/11/2019 12:44

Have skim read to catch up, have had a lovely week in Paris for half term. Really loved it, so many places to see and so many lovely little cafes to sit in/outside drink wine and watch the world go buy.
I know it's birthday season as Shop mentioned, mine is this week too so treated myself to some beautiful Chanel make up, lovely experience in there, nice to be spoilt.
Bought a couple of new tops and have had orders from Stories and Boden delivered while I've been away, I've gone a bit mad buying all of a sudden, must be my advancing age!

Stokey · 02/11/2019 19:16

About to finish the first series of Succession Marsha, sort of love and hate it, they're all so awful. Matthew McFadyen is particularly cringey!

House is very nearly finished MrsM. We're just waiting for final wallpapering & painting which was meant to be next week, but the painter's Dad had just been taken ill so now has been postponed. Very frustrating, as we can't finish the window seat until the paper is done. We're so close though & are using the space which is amazing, makes such a difference.

Love the books talk. I'd like to read the Pat Barker but need to steel myself. We just read Beloved for book club, so awful, very difficult read. I've put the Familiars down too. Want to read the new Atwood too, & am about to start the other Booker winner Girl,Woman, Other which sounds good.

No purchases to talk about, but happy birthday to all the Scorpions 🦂 my eldest is 10 next week - eek

Karcheer · 02/11/2019 23:08

I popped to bicester today and got this jumper from Holland and cooper. I really, really need to buy someone things. Even after all these years I struggle being an autumn...

Applefairy · 03/11/2019 05:55

I’m a dark/deep autumn - what are you Karcheer? I think Lib is an autumn too. Anyone else?

DryWhiteagainW · 03/11/2019 09:10

Marvellous I wore this blouse with TS Jamie black high waisted skinnies.
Russell and B black Chelsea boots.
Zara Red coat.

Welcome back Karcheer and Applefairy! Love the links particularly the Holland one. Beautiful jumper, I hadn't heard of that brand before.

Also love the various warehouse links, I always forget they exist until some posts something gorgeous on here!

Karcheer it was the Boodles catalogue that arrived on Friday. I circled the £100k brooch and winked at dhGrin. He laughed. A lot.

The last week, I have been using my Mulberry Roxanne bag. I love that bag. Ancient and still so current.

Speaking of bags, I had an insta lust moment a few days ago when I saw the Prada matinée bag. It was calling to me even as I was backing out!

Happy Sundays allSmile

MarshaBradyo · 03/11/2019 11:34

You never know Blingy he might be laughing to cover up that it’s on your Christmas list Grin

Themarvellousmrsm · 03/11/2019 14:09

Welcome Karcheer and Apple; lots of lovely autumn colours in the shops atm for you Karcheer-can you wear mustard? Such a lovely colour. Lovely Chloe dress Apple

Stokey the end is in sight! It'll be so worth all the hassle in the end. Girl woman other is on my list too-read a couple of books by her and enjoyed them immensely.

Fab lunch outfit Dry - did you come home for a nap afterwards?!

Last night I ended up wearing HL coated skinnies, Mango animal print shirt, leather jacket and SE studed heels. They're my go to evening shoes and have been for ever so really think I need some new ones! Trouble is they're so comfy and look good with everything.

Today's ootd is j brand jeans, Uniqlo polo neck jumper and big fluffy socks - so cold and miserable.

DryWhiteagainW · 03/11/2019 15:05

this is a bag of lust, if I had a spare £3k Sad

Blingysolightly · 03/11/2019 19:03

If it's any comfort Dry, I am sure it's very heavy!Grin

Marsha, even I draw the line at spending £100k on a brooch!!

Miserable weekend here Chez Blingy. I don't usually wish my life away but..... the next 10 weeks till 11+ exams are over and done with can't come quickly enough.Sad

DryWhiteagainW · 03/11/2019 20:00

I feel for you Blingy it’s a very stressful time.

Oh well I’ll leave the bag then Grin
