They're nice shop I need to start wearing my grey skinnies again, the only jeans I haven't worn since before pregnancy because they were always very tight! Well done for Friday and it sounds like your lovely Dad would have thought you looked perfect :)

can you link the rings you like? Always room for more bling on the thread!

Gorgeous earrings Blingy (as usual!)

libertyonhertravels · 19/10/2019 03:21

blingy those earrings are stunning.

Shop I love that the dress worked for you. And yes, time to put you first now xx.

DryWhiteagainW · 19/10/2019 09:44

I had a fab night last nigh, didn’t fall over in my killer heels, I felt amazing in my dress.....wish I could dress up everyday, I find it so much easier than smart casual. Jeans never make me feel good.

The private school thing is a funny one really. Shop I guarantee that the other women will think your a chic, warm, approachable woman and that’s why they’ll want to mix with you....the material things are irrelevant.

I went to a private school, our house was a lot smaller than my friends homes, don’t mention our cars (a series of bangers) but my parents were fiercely proud and never even let on that they could feel like the poor relation. As a result I’ve never really been phased by the size of people’s houses.

When I was at the NCT coffee morning stage, I went to a very large country house (pool etc) I hadn’t met the mother before, got chatting to this very unassuming young woman who I assumed was the nanny....guess what? TotalL’y lovely woman.

People are ridiculous to judge, it’s a shame they do. It’s just stuff.

Anyone watching the rugby....I’m appreciating the Australia’s sequinned shorts Grin ....but still think the French kit is the best looking

I met up with lovely Mara today and we had prosecco, a great chat and I said we missed her and her excellent and totally her style to entice her onto thread, so I hope to see a post soon!

shopafrolic · 19/10/2019 19:52

Oh how lovely Marsha I miss her

MarshaBradyo · 19/10/2019 20:05

Me too Shop : ( so I said don’t worry about a long catching up post. We’ll just be happy to see you. This goes for anyone who hasn’t posted for a while and doesn’t feel up to a long post!

DryWhiteagainW · 19/10/2019 23:40

Of course Mara I love to see your gorgeous links.

The more the merrier on here as far as I’m concerned Smile

libertyonhertravels · 20/10/2019 10:21

I've been missing lovely Mara and also Bernice and Sadia - where are you all???

Went shopping today, mostly for bras and underwear. But also bought this starfish necklace and matching starfish studs.

Then since I was on a roll I bought these khaki slingback loafers.

libertyonhertravels · 20/10/2019 10:29

Blair I'm getting loads of compliments on the Rains raincoat so thanks again for linking that and also blingy.

Another recent non fashion but very useful acquisition has been a Fitbit. I realise (as usual) that I'm about 3 years behind the curve on this but it has really made me very aware of my activity level and having all the details of steps, heartrate, calories, sleep quality etc is very motivating.

In other news those of you at the MU will know things have been really difficult with me and DH. I haven't said much here as it's just same old, same old and I just feel I am whinging whenever I mention it especially since I'm just trudging along and not really doing much about it all.

DryWhiteagainW · 20/10/2019 11:56

Liberty it’s so tough. So, so hard. Xx
Love the starfish necklace ...really lovely.

Blingysolightly · 20/10/2019 12:14

Morning! Good to hear about the mini MU with MaraSmile. I also love her links. So very different style to mine, but just so pretty. I hope Bernice is okay. I know Justa is busy with just life in general as we swapped messages a few weeks ago.

Glad your Rains coat is getting the love Lib, since i got mine and sent you the pic, I haven't worn it as i have been out of the country or at home not going out, so will probably finally get to wear it this week. Never ever feel you are moaning about your dh. Actually, QueenC said that in the throes of relationship issues with dh, she headed off to the relationship boards (as well as staying on this thread), have you thought about doing the same? I occasionally lurk on a random thread that catches my eye, and there are some very wise women on there.

So my first world problem or fashion dilemma for the day is this: I am currently wearing very red polish on my nails. I am speaking at a high profil-ish event tomorrow and trying to work out whether to stay with the red polish (called Devils Delight) or whether to switch to the burgandy (called Dansom Dream) which i have been wearing over the last few weeks. Slightly worried that with my very long nails that it looks too vampy for the settingHmm

Other than that, a dull Sunday here in chez Blingy - dh is doing Sunday lunch, we have classical music playing on all the speaker ceilings in every room in the house which is very relaxing (ds absolutely loves classical music so he's very happy, dd tolerates it!). We are now on half term but it's an important half term so no rest for any of usSad.

Blingysolightly · 20/10/2019 12:14

Forgot to add that necklace is lush Lib!

shopafrolic · 20/10/2019 19:23

Why an important half term Blingy ?
Lib love and support heading your way in buckets as per xx

DryWhiteagainW · 20/10/2019 19:27

I’m recovering g from 2 nights out in a row Grin

Lib Say whatever you want/need to say here Flowers Glad the coat is getting a lot of wear, mine has too!

Dry hope you're snuggled up with a hot cocoa Grin

Blingy how is your back? Hope it goes well tomorrow!

I had my DB to stay this weekend and last night I managed to get out of him that he is about to propose to his GF. It won't be a huge surprise to anyone which is why I guessed, but I have to keep the secret obviously! Anyway the wedding will be (abroad) early next year, as she currently can't come here without a visa. I am going to need an amazing dress, and I'm going to another big (Irish) wedding in May so I think I can justify something that will get at least 2 wears Grin so excited!

libertyonhertravels · 20/10/2019 22:22

Monday morning here, am wearing the starfish necklace and earrings with my midi teal dress and a navy Uniqlo Cardi and Clarks tan brogues. Feels very me. Needed the raincoat en route as it's very wet but thankfully we had a beautiful weekend.

Crap weekend for Irish Rugby but well done to the England fans Smile

Blair that's exciting news about your brother. Irish weddings are great and it's almost impossible to overdress for one Grin so use the opportunity to glam it up.

Thanks for all the supportive messages. Things are feeling shit and stuck. Just can't seem able to deal with things. Trying to trust myself that the answers will come.

QueenCoral · 21/10/2019 08:44

lib I love that necklace and I promise you that the answers will come. Sometimes you just can’t rush these things. But never be scared of being alone. It is so much better than being lonely in a marriage.

I’m currently dying with a cold/flu. It feels much worse than a regular cold so could well be flu which is annoying as I had the jab the other week! I’m currently on the sofa with lemsip.

It’s a significant anniversary for me today and one that turned my life upside down. But I am in a relatively good place right now. I will hopefully be asking you all for interiors advice soon! I’ve been relatively conservative in this house but feel like unleashing my inner quirkiness in the next one although am scared of making any expensive mistakes.
Clothes wise, I’ve ordered a couple of jumpers so will report back on delivery.

maradesbois · 21/10/2019 09:28

Hi Voguettes,

Aw, this feels like coming home. Have only ready last page as I said to Marsha the thought of having to catch up on months of thread and do a massive post was keeping me from coming back to this thread I love so much.

Anyway, jumping back in and promise to stick around with you lovely bunch Smile!

Atm am loving Massimo Dutti’s sélection of autumn dresses. this is a particular fave which I bought for work but is actually quite dressy so have been wearing a big cardigan draped over shoulders à la Meghan Markle.

Lib which Rains coat did you get? I have a short khaki one, really like it.

Marsha i bought the blue (cerulean) we looked at!

Love to you all, mega hugs to Shop in particular. Xx

MarshaBradyo · 21/10/2019 09:49

Mara I’m so happy to see you back and that you got the blue one!!! Three ! For that. How wonderful! Both have made my day. Back in a bit to read properly.

libertyonhertravels · 21/10/2019 10:43

Yay Mara

It's the curve raincoat - I got it in olive green

Thanks QueenC - I'm happy to chat interiors! We went for wallpaper in several rooms and I was very nervous about some of the choices. I spent ages on Pinterest getting ideas. I'm really happy with it now and I get lots of people asking me if I used an interior designer Wink. Main things I learned was to pick a pallette of complementary colours. So we have Resene Double Rice Cake (a salty white with green undertones) in kitchen and main hallway and then lots of complementary green shades and warm greys. So the bolder wallpapers look fine as they are styles that suit the age of the house and all the colours work well together. Once I got confident I really enjoyed it. Also another great tip was to use grey whites in bathrooms with white sinks etc as a really bright white on walls or ceiling can make the fittings look grubby. So we used Resene Black White in those. I could go on and on!!! Am also obsessed with rugs and round mirrors.

libertyonhertravels · 21/10/2019 10:47

And another thing that worked well in main bathroom was a statement floor - we went for a vinyl that looks like old fashioned tiles. Gets loads of comments and makes a room we actually did very little with look quite striking.

QueenCoral · 21/10/2019 14:08

That’s all fab lib. I’m going to try and sit on my hands initially and not do anything until I’m certain.

The jumpers arrived. This one is a gorgeous green colour and then this one in my perfect cobalt. I just need to try them both on properly as right no work I’m only in pyjamas but I think they’re both keepers.

shopafrolic · 21/10/2019 15:08

Oh Mara how fab to see you my lovely friend Smile

DryWhiteagainW · 21/10/2019 19:17

Yippee Mara you’re back. So pleased and a big hug to you lovely lady xxxxx
