I've just bought this from M&S and it's the comfiest thing to wear around the house. Do you think I could get away with wearing it out and about as it's classed as nightwear on the website? I was thinking about wearing on a long haul flight in a couple of months' time.

You can’t be serious? It’s a nightie. I thought it was going to be a two piece set when I read the post.

I wouldn’t have the balls to do it

Northernsoullover · 07/09/2019 14:52

You can wear what you like, but it does look like nightwear.

picklemepopcorn · 07/09/2019 14:53

It's a no from me, and I'm pretty laid back.

Also, I find M&S nightwear doesn't keep its shape very well.

bokkleorandoove · 07/09/2019 14:53

Haha - it’s a long hoodie but you’ve confirmed what I thought, that it’s nightwear. It’s just so comfy!

I don't see why not because my first thought was, that is too nice to wear round the house.

Seriously though, do people buy stuff to wear round the house? I wear my old crap such as T shirts with more than 2 holes round the belly button and old yoga pants.

Maybe I am just a sloth.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 07/09/2019 14:54

No. You really can't.

If you want to wear something comfy for long haul, try jogging bottoms/loose trousers, t-shirt and sweat shirt. But not a nightdress

bonzo77 · 07/09/2019 14:54

Hmmm. Not sure. Depends what with. And how many Fucks you give. I might....

Astraj · 07/09/2019 14:54

It looks like a nightie to me, I wouldn't wear it out of the house op

PeriComoToes · 07/09/2019 14:56

No

bokkleorandoove · 07/09/2019 14:57

It’s quite thick, so not quite like a nightdress - far too hot to wear to bed for me. Was thinking about wearing it with leggings and converse but will find something else now. Thanks

I think you could if you seriously styled it up. With a belt, coloured tights and DM boots, for example. But that depends on your style really and maybe defeats the object of it being slouchy.

slobberyblob · 07/09/2019 14:59

😂😂 good lord

Oly4 · 07/09/2019 15:01

I
Love it and want one for the house!! But no, you can’t wear it out

icanhearapindrop · 07/09/2019 15:01

I think they sell a jumper (pyjamas) version of that don’t they? Maybe team that up with some comfy trousers and you’d be ok.

northernstars · 07/09/2019 15:17

I have a shorter similar top from New Look that I wear with leggings and hitops on long haul flights. Could you take it up? Even just above the knee?

northernstars · 07/09/2019 15:18

Must. Not. Order.

BoomZahramay · 07/09/2019 15:22

That is most definitely nightwear only.

Raphael34 · 07/09/2019 15:30

I agree with northernstars. I’d almost wear it, it’s just a little too long to pass off as dayway. I’d take it up a couple inches

Wonkybanana · 07/09/2019 15:30

Some light reading OP, it seems you're on trend!

Bluewavescrashing · 07/09/2019 15:35

I'm saying no and I have a chronic illness which means I'm in bed a lot of the daytime. I'm in bed now actually.

AlexaAmbidextra · 07/09/2019 15:58

Yes, I do. Just casual wear, sometimes PJs that look like loose trousers and a t-shirt. Because, even though it’s only me I wouldn’t feel comfortable sobbing about in scruffy holey clothes.

Bluntness100 · 07/09/2019 16:00

I'm sure this isn't serious, that's clearly a nightie. 😂

polyhymnia · 07/09/2019 16:08

I’ve just bought that too and really looking forward to wearing it round the house. Would be happy to answer the door in it.

But agree with PPs that I wouldn’t wear it outside the house - including on a plane trip. There is a short version which I suppose could be worn with stylish comfortable trousers (eg Hush). But so could all sorts of casual jumpers and tops. If it’s the stars you like ( and I must say I have a weakness for them), there are still lots of starry tops out there , even though they’ve been around quite a while now.
