Can I creep in with a tiara picture? Not a royal one, as far as I could work out, but I thought there was something really lovely and unusual about this one...

Also a fun fact, apparently Nigeria is the world's second biggest consumer of champagne after France.

Absolutely incorrect @Becles. Made up statistic.

I stand corrected. Apparently a misreading of a luxury brands trend report - Nigeria is Africa’s top champagne importer, but not world’s second-biggest consumer. Looks as though it's 22nd in the world on official figures although more likely off the books.

God, I hope she doesn’t emerge wearing “African prints”......

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/09/2019 08:06

I think she may wear clothes by a few local designers, as that's what she did in Oz/NZ last year.

It’s Prince Harry’s birthday today lovely message from Meghan on Instagram

An tucked into the bottom rh corner is a new photo of Archie from the christening.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 15/09/2019 09:21

Bit of a formal greeting from KP but lovely photo

Likewise formal again; from HM I guess that’s protocol. Lovely photo with HM

Just waiting for the Clarence House tweet. (No pic of Harry with PC in the photo montage, but then nothing with the Queen either; just Diana and Prince Phillip.)

Those are lovely photos of Charles and Harry.
I really hope we get to see a bit of Archie in SA. They’ve yes, he will make an appearance, but they don’t know when; which is fair enough.

It’s a big day for Royal Birthdays
Prince Daniel of sweden
And
Queen Letizia of Spain

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 15/09/2019 09:42

Chris Jackson, Royal photographer has done a brilliant photo montage really showing Harry’s personality.

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/09/2019 10:19

Harry looks so young in the pre-beard photos!!!

SA is one of my favourite places in the world - can't wait to see pics of the tour. I've also got some of the other countries lined up for holidays in future so I'll be watching with interest.

Agree on the point about Meghan dressing up. Massive generalisation but African women often look stunning. There's a bit in Zadie Smith's most recent novel where the character goes off to Africa for charity work with her celeb employer and packs loads of utility trousers etc then feels completely out of place and patronising amongst the beautiful women!

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/09/2019 11:41

I've worked with several Zimbabwean and Nigerian women and their love of luxury brands was unsurpassed. There's also a huge market in both countries for extravagant weddings so I don't think they're strangers to Givenchy! I don't want to generalise though, and SA may be different. Or, as @hotcrossbun4321 and @Becles say, people there may actually expect a duchess to dress up!

Lovely pics of PH (particularly like the christening one ♥️), especially the Chris Jackson montage.

TipseyTorvey · 15/09/2019 12:15

I'm (half) south African so my view is there are two sides to society. 'Haves' who wear givenchy, have maids, pools etc and 'have nots' who don't. There isnt really the middle ground as we see it over hear (uk). She'll have to be diplomatic about what she wears depending on what's she's doing I suppose (like the UK) but there is an elite for sure!

TipseyTorvey · 15/09/2019 12:20

Here not hear.. Good grief

EmGee · 15/09/2019 12:41

I know we have not seen many photos of Archie but my goodness, from what I can see, he looks the most gorgeous little munchkin! I'm not a huge 'go gaga' over babies type person, but I could make an exception for him!!

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/09/2019 13:01

Royal Sketches has also done an IG post for Harry's birthday.

hopeishere · 15/09/2019 13:06

Should we read anything into KP using a wedding pic? Trying to underscore it was a positive occasion?

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/09/2019 14:00

I think they were just after a nice photo the Wales brothers. I'm not sure they've appeared at many functions together since then.

BlingLoving · 15/09/2019 17:50

Agree that there's extreme poverty But South Africans would make a huge effort in these situation and would expect similar from her.

EmGee · 15/09/2019 20:56

The Duke of York is beside HM on the way to church again. HM looks lovely in dark pink.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 15/09/2019 22:04

How awesome does CP Victoria look here?!
She’s like a 1950s Italian Movie Star 🌟
