Sorry! I was in a meeting and dropped the ball.

I like that shade of navy on Harry, really suits him. Not sure about the khaki tie with it though.

Lunde · 10/09/2019 21:24

Like the suit but unsure about the tie - is it a military shade to reflect the Invictus theme?

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/09/2019 21:26

You're not in the minority at all @itswinetime. I've just had a look at the Sussex IG feed and am yet to see the miserable Harry that some people talk about!

I'm glad Queen I was starting to think I must be a terrible judge of facial expressions the way everyone keeps going on about!

latedecember1963 · 10/09/2019 22:17

Your outfit sounds just perfect, Bealola. DH and I did the Buckingham Palace tour a couple of years back and practical shoes were a must. Hope you enjoyed your day.

JaimeBronde · 10/09/2019 22:33

The older Harry gets the more he looks like his Grandad Phil.

As mentioned previously I'm working my way through the Christina Croft books about Queen Victoria & her extended family (I think it's becoming my specialist subject for Mastermind Grin )
Victoria's cousin-in-law Queen Marie-Henriette of Belgium was absolutely horse mad (like HMQ, Anne & Zara) & had such a bond with her horses that apparently she trained 'them to come inside & climb the stairs to her room.'
Reminds me of a young Princess Elizabeth taking an age to get to bed as she had to put all of her toy horses to bed each night.
And Prince Phillip saying that Anne was only interested if you had 4 legs, neighed and snorted.

I believe that Prince Philip said farted, not snorted Grin

derxa · 10/09/2019 22:48

I do wish people would stop speculating on Harry's father. It was Prince Charles full stop. So hurtful and nasty.

JaimeBronde · 10/09/2019 22:48

Yep farted....I thought snorted didn't seem quite right Grin 🐴

JaimeBronde · 10/09/2019 22:50

I'm only on about the family resemblance through Charles!

JaimeBronde · 10/09/2019 22:51

No way was I insinuating that Philip was Harry's Dad!

derxa · 10/09/2019 23:11

No way was I insinuating that Philip was Harry's Dad! No!!!!
People keep insinuating that hewitt was harry's dad. It's just not true.

JaimeBronde · 10/09/2019 23:21

derxa I also find it bewildering that some people (not on this thread I hasten to add) are convinced that Hewitt is the father of Harry.
They don't let little things like truth get in the way of their conspiracy theory. A: Diana & Hewitt didn't get together until Harry was a toddler.
B: Harry does resemble Charles but is more the spit of his paternal Grandfather Prince Philip.
C: Similar genetics at play with both Lady Louise & Princess Charlotte being mini HMQs. Though Charlotte is also beginning to resemble a young Diana.

Gooseysgirl · 11/09/2019 00:42

Remember that app that was going around a few weeks ago where you see what you might look like when you're older - Harry was the HEAD off Charles 😄

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 11/09/2019 02:28

I don’t think Princess Charlotte resembles HM that much any more. It was just in the Annie Leibovitz photo, the resemblance was striking.
Charlotte now looks much more like William and has Diana expressions.
Lady Louise is much closer to a young Princess Elizabeth.

Given all the interbreeding; there are some very strong royal genes being repeated. Although Prince George and Prince Louis are pure Middleton. Kate has brought brown eyes into the Royal family.

Curly
Royal ladies looking very chic in black for the opening of the Swedish Parliament

Good photos there, better than the link I posted - you see the details really well.

Svensk Damtidning have some photos of CPV and Sofia going to a concert to celebrate the opening of parliament that same night www.svenskdam.se/kungligt/superduon-sofia-och-victoria-har-gor-de-succe/ Haven't found information on the clothes.

banivani · 11/09/2019 08:16

Ah Curly, I should have scrolled up! You've done the work already!

Balloondog · 11/09/2019 08:29

Absolutely love Sophia's hat at the opening of Parliament! She nailed it with colour, style everything imo (although I thought they had to wear black and white?).

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/09/2019 08:50

Carl Philip looks pretty good in those photos too!

OP posts:
CurlyWurlyTwirly · 11/09/2019 08:59

I think Princess Sofia has great style.
Agreed, the berry velvet hat was gorgeous

banivani · 11/09/2019 09:02

Apparently they're loosening it up a little? Though if I understand it rightly the dress code is a bit of an invention of QS:s - a nod to tradition now that the court dresses are very seldom worn (and I don't think ever worn by the RF, only by other members of court/staff? but don't quote me - also I think it's dark navy now). So it's not that long in standing and maybe coloured accessories were always alright.

boptist · 11/09/2019 09:20

I can see how it’s more appropriate, but I feel a bit sad for royal couples when they don’t hold hands.
DP comes from a very untouchy-feely family but I’m quite tactile, so wonder what it feels like to those who marry in to a royal family.
