Has anyone bought the Moritz jeans?

Hesitant on sizing.
My Hush boyfriend jeans are a slightly snug after a wine and cheese holiday size 10.

Just wondering about length and comparable sizing.

Need to order quickly as 10% expires!

dontcallmelen · 07/09/2019 12:10

Soy yes the picture you posted had very similar, yy the playsuits I couldn’t think of the name, Mum used to always make them with lace or broderie anglais trim & clarks leather t-bar sandals/Mary janes & remember being desperate for heels, I think that’s what left me a lifelong need for collecting high heels.
Soups I’m living my dd’s early childhood all over again at the moment with smocked dresses etc for dgd , luckily dd loves her in them😂 but yy letting them chose when they show an interest.

taybert · 07/09/2019 12:21

I think I must’ve shrunk in the wash, the DMs are massive too! Also when I tried them on with the hush girlfriend cords my husbands comment was that I looked “a bit paramilitary” so it might be back to the drawing board with that styling....

twosoups1972 · 07/09/2019 12:35

@Ellapaella just seen your outfit on the other thread - looks great, really love the style. Hope you had a lovely evening out.

I am contemplating what to wear today. Still in PJs at lunchtime, whoops Blush

We're meeting friends for dinner tonight. I am thinking about new rocket skirt from Hush or starry Kensington dress that I am so happy I managed to nab, it's a fab dress.

SoyYo · 07/09/2019 13:05

Yes soups the smock dresses...except I remember wearing them till I was around 8/9 years old! Grin by which time we were already in the early 70’s. I of course rebelled in my later teens and remember deliberately cutting off the bottoms of the jeans I wasn’t allowed to wear when younger (kind of home made stressing you now but in the shops) paired with huge t shirts...and my grandmother who was always immaculate actually refusing to go out with me dressed like that 😂 but yes I actually liked those clothes when I was younger and was given a choice on the fabric/trimming and it was a lot of fun. My grandmother was so lovely I only mortified her once with my ripped jeans and carried on going with her to the seamstress visits and even though by then I also liked “off the peg” fashions continued to indulge her (and me) choosing fabrics and a new dress/skirt/shirt well into my twenties (by which time I was already living in GB so it would be restricted to my annual visit Home).
I remember one of the last things I had tailor made was in my mid twenties: a tweed suit but with a modern twist as the skirt was above the knee and with a great contrasting bright satin lining in the jacket. A bit like Boden do these days with Harris tweed. And there’d be different seamstresses for different clothes: the ones that made the suit were highly skilled tailors whereas the everyday cotton shirts would be a different lot.
How interesting your grandfather was a tailor. Tbh if I stopped buying so much online and saved the pennies I could probably afford to have a beautifully made jacket or shirt tailor made now once a year...there’s food for thought for us all.
And if you go on hols to places like Hong Kong or Thailand tailoring is still a thriving business not just reserved for the very well off. Choose your fabric or silk and voila! A perfectly tailored silk shirt in 3/4 working days (I have 4 still in regular use for work in my wardrobe).

I love the starry Kensington dress soups it definetely needs an outing before it gets too cold!

twosoups1972 · 07/09/2019 13:09

So Hush Kensington, just worried it’s too long on me?

The Hushistas flirt with autumn
SoyYo · 07/09/2019 13:16

soups it looks gorgeous! Not too long at all. Will be perfect with ankle boots.

twosoups1972 · 07/09/2019 13:17

Thank you @soy thought I might try white trainers with it.

Ellapaella · 07/09/2019 13:17

@twosoups1972 it's looks lovely, length is good.

dontcallmelen · 07/09/2019 13:20

Soy suit sounds divine, yy the Far East or India for very reasonable tailoring, I have some linen trousers that I had made to measure in India years ago, still going strong.
Soups dress looks lovely.

Laska2Meryls · 07/09/2019 13:27

The Hushistas flirt with autumn
Laska2Meryls · 07/09/2019 13:29

The Boden ones are definitely summer trousers. Loose but I like that ..

Laska2Meryls · 07/09/2019 13:31

Kensington looks great on you soups keep keep

dontcallmelen · 07/09/2019 13:32

Ooh Laska they really look good👍 I’m only the no spend bench because I’m idiot with money😂 must admit the poetry ones are also lovely.

Sooverthemill · 07/09/2019 13:43

I have those chinos laska but much prefer the version they did last year, so much more comfortable somehow and I don't where the rust coloured ones anything like as much! I don't leave the house very often so my clothes aren't especially seasonal, i tend to bung a cardigan on top of whatever I'm wearing with the exception of summer dresses ( which have hardly had an outing recently due to bloody freezing weather this year)

Laska2Meryls · 07/09/2019 13:44

Here with blue dyed sweat ( im really pleased with how that turned out)

Laska2Meryls · 07/09/2019 13:45

You'll need a photo with that!!

The Hushistas flirt with autumn
SoyYo · 07/09/2019 13:45

Laska i do like the Boden crops on
you 😍 and such a great colour!
Well, as far as no spend goes I’m a fraud given my recent Hush parcel and keeping the tux jacket. I’m sending back the sale zebra pink/orange trousers (Huge on me even on a 10 and weird nylon fabric put me right off) but considering keeping the green v neck wide top And the red long sleeved Kensington dress...Blush

soups yes I was going to add trainers for the Kensington too, great combo.

dontcallmelen · 07/09/2019 13:46

Forgot to say, the blue dye stuff came out really well.

SoyYo · 07/09/2019 13:55

Meant to add shame about the DM’s taybert they looked so promising on the online pic...

SoyYo · 07/09/2019 13:56

len you and I were childhood clothing twins Grin

dontcallmelen · 07/09/2019 14:00

Soy I think we were😂

SoyYo · 07/09/2019 14:16

And that last tweed suit I had made under grandmothers’ “instructions” was still going strong for a good decade after (I’ve since given away to charity). I remember returning to work after maternity leave in 1997 after DS2 and the receptionist at work (she was fierce, I guess in her late 50’s then and ruled the office) commenting approvingly:
“How nice to see you getting your tweed out for winter SoyGrin it wasn’t said with any hint of sarcasm either. She thoroughly approved! Grin

I still keep a hand knitted jumper my grandmother made me for sentimental reasons...

dontcallmelen · 07/09/2019 14:20

Aww Soy lovely memories, I have a knitted blanket my my mum made & the shawl she knitted for Ds baptism which was used for both dd & baptisms as well.
