Yes len I have baby things that were mine and lovingly kept by DM, and yes my baptism gown and bonnet amongst them which were worn by both my boys at their baptisms. Adorable. Kept safely stored now. Could never part with x

I guess our similar “clothing upbringing” 😂 kind of explains why we’re so hopeless when presented with pretty fripperies and fabulous fabrics (let’s not talk sequins eh Wink).

Laska2Meryls · 07/09/2019 14:29

you've been chatty . i'll have to read back later re the clothes making.. i wish I could sew though.. I have a machine and do alterations but am incapable of sewing in a straight line !

SoyYo · 07/09/2019 14:33

laska I’m just chatting away due to op recovery, taking it easy at the mo but I can’t even do a straight seam so 🤦🏻‍♀️ I can however embroider 🤨

SoyYo · 07/09/2019 14:36

Actually back to Hush maybe someone can answer the question on previous page regarding Moritz trousers? I don’t have them so couldn’t answer but you do no laska?

ilovecherries · 07/09/2019 16:02

mumsie, I have both the denim Moritz and the boyfriend jeans. I found the Moritz looser (in the blue denim - also tried the white denim and found them much more snug)

dontcallmelen · 07/09/2019 17:09

Soy well you are definitely one up on me, have no idea on where to start with embroidery yes I think that may be the explanation of fripperies/fabrics 😂 let’s not talk sequins.

Laska2Meryls · 07/09/2019 18:41

Mumsie sorry didnt see your post.. the Moritz come up big, as do the Chamonix if you are also looking at those ..

neveradullmoment99 · 07/09/2019 19:03

Yeh the moritz come up looser but I unless you are at the smaller end of a size perhaps not enough to size down?
I have a 12 and the moritz are looser now [ I have lost weight] but maybe not enough still to fit into a 10 [Mind you I haven't had them on recently!]

neveradullmoment99 · 07/09/2019 19:07

Sorry, I haven't had a chance to read back as I have had visitors today. Will read back later Smile

Huffthepuff · 07/09/2019 21:18

Hi 👋 good to read you all today.

Soups the Kensington looks fabulous on you, I love it! Definitely keep! Will be so useful and great for all seasons

I'm still on the no spend bench for a while (since July 🥴) but I would like to order the Hush khaki puffa. Loving all the new autumn clothes coming out at the moment 😍. John Lewis have some gorgeous wrap scarves...

Huffthepuff · 07/09/2019 21:21

Great new bits Laska! The Boden trousers look gorgeous and I very much like your dye job on the love top

Soy that tux 😻 it's just perfect! Can't wait to see it styled with skinnies and rock tee! Really does suit you

Binkybix · 07/09/2019 21:24

Laska those troos look great. Lovely colour.

soups that dress looks ♥️

justilou1 · 07/09/2019 23:10

I just read that you’ve had surgery, @SoyYo... I hope you are recovering well and it was nothing too serious!!! Sending big, belated, Aussie Get Well Soons, and a sorry I somehow missed that one!!!

SoyYo · 07/09/2019 23:23

No worries justi and thank you 😊

Ellapaella · 08/09/2019 09:29

If anyone wants a £10 off a £30 spend Boden voucher I have one I'm not going to use

Sooverthemill · 08/09/2019 09:53

ellapella I've just used mine on a cord midi skirt I expect I will return. Annoyingly it somehow overrode a 15% discount code I was using so I ended up with only £10 off rather than the almost £20 I had expected ( it displayed during checkout but not nice I'd finished iyswim). Hmph will have to see if it's worth it. I used to love their cord skirts but haven't had one for years now.

GinandGingerBeer · 08/09/2019 21:00

Good evening all, so much to catch up on. Love the tux jacket @soy, thanks for posting the pics. I really want one but I'm trying so hard to be good. I haven't collected my topshop camel coat yet so I'll see what that's like..... but then again the 10%ends tonight....
love hearing your stories of your childhood clothes. My mum definitely wasn't a seamstress but she had fabulous clothes! She had a very generous clothing allowance in the early 80's when she was a front of house manager at a restaurant/bar/dinner dance place. She always tells me to sod it and buy fabulous clothes while I'm young enough to enjoy them.
I can't even sew a button on! DH bought me a sewing machine once but I can't really work out how to use it Grin I need a beginners class when I have some of that thing called time!
I do like the hush cords too, I'm tempted but I'm a shorty...
Been to a fabulous art exhibition today in the botanical gardens some really different art, very talented people out there.

SoyYo · 09/09/2019 10:30

I like your DM’s fashion philosophy gin Smile

SoyYo · 09/09/2019 10:43

Thanks Huff the tux is 👌

twosoups1972 · 09/09/2019 12:23

@Laska2Meryls love the Boden trousers, colour is lovely, what a good buy.

Thanks for all your comments on the Kensington dress, it is definitely a keeper.

I managed to nab a Hush Rocket skirt in the right size so I'm happy about that. I'm trying to join @Ellapaella on the no-spend September but this doesn't really count as I'm just changing the size does it?? Wink

twosoups1972 · 09/09/2019 12:29

I'm finally having a day to myself today after a LONG summer holiday. Dd1 started at her new Sixth Form college today, whether she will still be there next summer and decides to sit the A Levels or not remains to be seen. But she's going to try it to see how it goes. At least the pressure is off now, she has her uni place secured for next year.

Having a clear out! We've got one of those hanging rails that's just been standing on the upstairs landing for yonks containing all those clothes you don't know what to do with. I think the dressing up days are well behind us (although dd2's SECONDARY school did do World Book Day in the past Grin) so I can probably throw out those random items of clothing that were used for costumes.

What I don't know what to do with is the dance/festival costumes. Dd1 has so many, what with dance shows, festivals, competitions and so on. Some of them were specially made for her and weren't cheap. She definitely won't wear them again and they're big and bulky and taking up space. I don't know whether to charity shop them or try and sell them or what....

dontcallmelen · 09/09/2019 12:31

I think Brexit is finally getting to me I had the maddest dream last night. I dreamt I was trying to cross a very busy main road & the Queen helped me across the road, I kept apologising & saying I’m so sorry your majesty I didn’t mean to put you in danger, we then ended up in Jeremy Kyles house hiding under a blanket on the sofa😂 I think I have officially lost the plot.

twosoups1972 · 09/09/2019 12:35

Grin Grin @melen I love interesting dreams. I used to remember them in vivid detail but lately I've noticed they fade very quickly. Wonder if that's an age thing...

dontcallmelen · 09/09/2019 12:41

Soups I think I remember mine as I don’t sleep very well & have always had really mad dreams.
Enjoy the peace today, would it be worth maybe asking the dance school if anyone would be interested in buying?

Talisin · 09/09/2019 13:21

Anyone else just get the Hush seconds sale email? Wednesday 11 - Friday 13 Sept at the Plough Studios Clapham Common. Bit short notice!
