Oooh soy - you look amazing in that dress and tux! Yes - it is lovely and the dress really suits you even more now you have had it shortened. Glad you are feeling better, and yay to showers... Hope you find getting dressed easier soon.
Realised that I totally fell off the last thread, and this one is already 7 pages in... waves to everyone . I'm totally in love with the socks/ cords/ chunky brogues thing - excellent suggestions ella. I really need to try that look... Cord is brilliant. So glad it seems to be "back" this year (though it never really went from my wardrobe frankly...). I don't have wide legged cropped cords though (laska yours look fab) but I do have some lovely thick cord trousers that are slightly cropped, so will try those with brogues rather than ankle boots. Though I also like the slim calf boots that soover linked to. I have a feeling this could get expensive... (I may also need some better socks).
Though I am also On The Bench for September, so it will have to wait. Boooo. (So never - I need to live through your cord tiered dress, I'm afraid. Please let us know how that turns out - it does look lush!)
laska - so glad you got the Japanese trousers again. I could sense the pain you had in sending them back in the first place! They do look good. And the dye jobs look great - especially the "love" top - the tonal blues work really well. I confess I have been giggling at justi's dye woes, though. It is so difficult to tell what colour things will eventually end up as. I'm with soy - go with fuchsia pillows and a throw, and style it out
.
soover - i'm veeeeeery behind the times, but your kitten is so cute. Also love the combo of the "lucky" tee and trousers, and also the beatrice jumper. I'm a big blue fan (I've got that lucky tee too, though I don't "do" slogans...was just so taken by the beautiful shade. It works really well with olive/ sage).
soups - I have absolutely no advice for your DD I'm afraid, but I know you will work with her to get to the best decision for her! It must be such a tricky time - getting to be independent, but still needing support from family...and every decision seems such a major one to make. Though she is still so young, if she does want to have a gap year in a couple of years, or go back to take A levels afterwards, it won't make much of a difference overall to starting out in her career or whatever. There really isn't a "right" way to do things, other than what is best for her at the moment. And there's no shame in changing tack at any point. Clothes-wise, the rocket skirt looks lovely (that was the one never had?) but I agree, no point in keeping if you think the sizing will annoy you. Glad the earrings are a winner, though.
Right - back to spreadsheet hell....
