never ilove the crops on you, I dont think they look to wide, it the style .. I'd say keep ! I am looking forward to getting mine now.. which will be end of the week I expect,Toast seem to take ages to dispatch their standard delivery..

The skirt ,...im not sure its a bit difficult to see properly in that photo. but have you things to wear it with, also its dry clean isnt it?

look like ill be sending the velvets back them , but I did manage to nab a green pair in 10 so will see ....

SoyYo · 21/09/2019 21:02

never the crops are fine as that’s the look but I’m a bit underwhelmed by them and it could be purely down to me not appreciating the corduroy texture and colour on the pic? I really love the shape of the velvet skirt on you but again can’t really appreciate the fabulous velvet fabric on the pic.
That’s a hard call...

Ella yes my opticians never ever offer my prescription after an eye test but I always ask for it and they always go “of course!”...Hmm cheeky as I agree they like to charge a small fortune and my DS wised me up to the wonderful world of online spec ordering but unlike never I’ve yet to order a new pair so her post is a welcome and timely reminder 👌

neveradullmoment99 · 21/09/2019 21:59

Ah..lucky you @Laska2Meryls
grrr...just typed out a huge long post and it got bloody deleted!!
Very annoying. Anway I am not too bothered about the velvet trousers. To much of a pain being velvet and dry clean only. Its the type of velvet that has a pile and you just know you could never chance it with them by touching it.
The colour of the crops in the cord in green is beautiful and they are seriously soft and lovely. They look expensive cord. Not the thin stuff but whale cord. I will try tomorrow and finalise my thoughts. I think they are quite cute. I dont like the navy ones much tbh. They are pretty unexciting.
Anyway, thanks for your comments. I have my coat to go and pick up from my mums tomorrow. Its a superdry woollen one - Its a bit military but I kind of like it. It is howeverprobably going back but at £65 a bit of punt!. I have a hankering for a black coat this year. I will let you all know. I sized up in it as superdry is notoriously small. I got a 14 in it.

neveradullmoment99 · 21/09/2019 22:02

@soyo. Its kind of hard to see the gorgeous green that they are. I agree. The skirt is almost definitely going back. It will be the skirt or the crops or both going back. I will not keep both either way. The velvet trousers are big so they are going back regardless.

neveradullmoment99 · 21/09/2019 22:05

..and the gorgeous dress I love but I took an exaggerated picture of the shoulders and when I look at it that sets my mind that it will be big in no time. Plus after ALL my spends, I really cannot keep it cost wise.

neveradullmoment99 · 21/09/2019 22:06

That was the toast dress I was talking about - the prairie one

SoyYo · 22/09/2019 10:31

Yes never you can always repurchase the lovely Prairie dress in a future sale and the right size...sounds like you’ve made the right decision regarding what to keep:return. 👌

SoyYo · 22/09/2019 10:34

Till I see the velvet in the flesh I can’t comment but if they’re gorgeous velvet and the 8 fit I know I’ll be tempted to keep even though they’re dry clean only...I can see them coming in super useful for winter smart evening dinners, or dressed down with a cozy jumper. And paired with my new Hush Tux 🤔

twosoups1972 · 22/09/2019 10:48

@neveradullmoment99 I LOVE the crops on you, definitely keep Smile

Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. I had the strangest experience yesterday - was shopping in Covent Garden for new dance shoes for dds 1 and 3. Walking along the pavement and turned to look at a new doughnut shop (!), carried on walking slowly and bumped into a woman coming the other way. She was very cross, said I wasn't looking where I was going etc. So I apologised more than once and started to walk away. She then called me back saying I had broken her handbag. I had a look, it was Prada handbag (not sure if real or fake) and the stitched bit where it goes round the buckle had come undone. I was a bit gobsmacked as it didn't seem that could have just happened from bumping into me. She continues talking in raised tones, it's a £1,000 bag, I need to pay etc. In the end I gave her a fake phone number and walked off, she carried on yelling at me. I was a bit shaken by it all. The dds were upset for me and reassured me I had done nothing wrong, it's a busy part of London, people bump into each other sometimes. But now I wonder if it was a scam....?

twosoups1972 · 22/09/2019 10:49

Also dd1 noticed that the alleged damage was all frayed so it couldn't have possibly just happened.

Sooverthemill · 22/09/2019 10:56

@twosoups you can't break a handbag by bumping into someone. Stop worrying. How odd and unsettling. I am certain I know where you were getting the shoes! ( used to live in London for years). I called Hush about jersey shirt and they were nice but said as they are weekend staff they can only take orders not deal with issues but kindly said they could organise a call back tomorrow

twosoups1972 · 22/09/2019 11:01

Thank you @soover we went to Dancia for ballet shoes and Capezio for jazz shoes Smile

Can you re-order and shirt and send the other one back when you can?

zippyswife · 22/09/2019 11:30

Morning Hushistas, I’m clutching at straws here and thought I’d stick a post on the off chance... I’m desperately after the red Kensington dress for a trip I have coming up- but it’s on pre-order 9-10 weeks- I wondered if anyone had one they were going to return that I could buy. As I say I’m really clutching at straws here! Incidentally- I’m an apple do you think it would suit or do you need a waist!

Huffthepuff · 22/09/2019 11:32

Glad you gave her a fake number Soups she sounds like a chancer.

Just ordering a coast rucksack from Joules for weekend adventures out with DS. While I was there, this fell into my basket:
www.joules.com/Women/Scarves/Green-Stars/Jacquelyn/Jacquard-Scarf?id=204865%7CGRNSTARS
Not my normal style but thought it could be good for weekends dog walking etc. With 20% off it was £23 so quite reasonable. I'm not really a Joules person but I quite like this

twosoups1972 · 22/09/2019 12:23

Hi @zippy can't help with the dress I'm afraid but I hope you manage to find one.

@Huffthepuff that's a gorgeous scarf. I'm a real sucker for scarves, I've got far too many.

Sooverthemill · 22/09/2019 13:04

@twosoups I could but was hoping not to have to have two payments coming out of my bank account given it's their error. I may cave in tomorrow

@Huffthepuff lovely scarf! I was looking longingly at scarves the other day but I've just emptied my entire wardrobe and found about 6 becksondergard ones I had totally forgotten I had ( back when I was mobile the tk max near where we lived often had them at very low prices) so I ought to wear those!

ilovecherries · 22/09/2019 13:13

I bought a pair of trousers from them just before my holiday, soover. The bar code label said 12 (which was what I wanted), the garment label said 14, which was correct as they were too big. I phoned and they just asked me to send a photo, and they sent a replacement out firstclass the same day.

Binkybix · 22/09/2019 14:36

Also some summer whistles trousers and a Hobbs dress happened too!

dontcallmelen · 22/09/2019 17:02

Soups how bizarre definitely a scam I reckon, we’ll done for giving her a fake number.
Huff lovely scarf & Binky great swimsuit.
never maybe try it all on again today, might be a bit clearer on what to keep/send back.
Looking forward to seeing the pics of the velvet trousers & skirts when they arrive.

NotAnActualSheep · 22/09/2019 18:37

Hello all waves. Fell off the thread again, and then it was moving so fast I couldn't keep up!! Anyway, I've enjoyed reading through the past 20odd pages Shock and love the photos and links.

never I absolutely love the crops on you, and can vouch for the quality of the cord! It also washes really nicely and doesn't need ironing (which is fortunate, as I Don't Iron). I have (I think) the other style of trousers in the toast sale in the teal green, which are great. Though I think toast trousers are on the large side in the hips compared to the waist, which obviously doesn't work for everyone. Also love the pink and leopard bias skirts and think they would be great for "dressy" occasions if you don't want to keep the dry-clean velvet.

Am astonished at the quality of your glasses too. I've been wary of trying something like that online, esp without trying on, but given the cost you can afford a bit of a risk! May try a second pair given mine cost about £450 last time (v strong and v uneven prescription!) and Im not paying that twice Shock.

soover what an absolute pain on the shirt mislabelling. I've had that before too (not hush) and it did get sorted out by customer services as they know it is a bit pants and makes them look unprofessional. Hopefully hush can help you tomorrow.

huff beautiful scarf! Love the green colour. I need to have a sort through my scarves for autumn/winter. I know I have loads but can never find one I want when looking for it... (also, need to pay a visit to TK Maxx if they still have the becksondergaard ones...)

soups I agree, the bag lady sounds like a right scam. Probably hanging around part of London where she knows it wouldn't seem too unusual to bump into someone. Definitely a CF. Glad you didn't feel guilty and give her money there and then out of embarrassment (even £20 or whatever) ... which is probably what she's after.

zippy can't help on the Kensington I'm afraid (is it also oos on John Lewis?) , but I think it is pretty universally flattering!! As the waist is shirred, it sort of creates a waist even if you don't have one. Go for it if you can, I reckon.

Anyway, I have totally failed at no spend September (ella and len, I am in awe!). I was doing so well, and then toast had a mini sale, which you must know I'm not going to be able to resist. Damn you toast. Thought I would try to see things in the flesh, so I went to the shop in Edinburgh, but they didn't have anything I was after in the sale. But I did buy a dress and some fecking socks for £19, and was so close to getting this cardigan in the slate which is the softest, fluffiest thing in the world. But they only had it in small and I'd have wanted a M or poss L to get really oversized. And it is mortgage levels of ££££ so I saw sense. And then I went and ordered the ikat dress online anyway which came yesterday and is beautiful.

I have no self control. Waaahhhhh.

laska huff and soy, really looking forward to seeing the velvet trousers/tops. They look so lovely and luxurious. If only I had the social life....

zippyswife · 22/09/2019 18:55

Thanks @twosoups1972 @notanactualsheep I’ll order it on preorder I’m just too impatient to wait. It was oos at John Lewis too but that was a good call- thanks. Does it come up big like most hush things?

neveradullmoment99 · 22/09/2019 19:02

@NotAnActualSheep, the glasses are honestly great and esp the price. I have ordered another pair and 30% off asked I asked their online chat if they had any discounts so they were £50 so a bit pricier than my other ones but they are oval shaped in a lovely purple tortoiseshell so looking forward to receiving them. They should arrive in a week to 10 days. I figure I love the ones I have but I want to wear my hush tortoiseshell and it may just be a bit much!! Will probably buy a third too to ring the changes at some point. I am SO pleased.

neveradullmoment99 · 22/09/2019 19:04

I love both the dress and that cardigan is just absolutely beautiful. It is totally on my wish list but the price is just ridiculous.

dontcallmelen · 22/09/2019 19:13

Oh dear lord that cardigan is a thing of beauty Not, cries a little bit at the price.
