Ooh never I love finding out stuff like that, wondering if they do kids sizes 🤔

Laska2Meryls · 19/09/2019 17:44

I feel a bit better now baout my ordering never! Almost like I have a halo back (it'll never happe , but spending so much in one week on car repairs and surprise 60th birthday trip (which both came out of my campervan savings, and I still have the posh hotel yet to pay for) has made me feel a bit 'Eeeek'!! ..

But sorry, you really do need to keep the Toast dress and the shoes , they are both so fab...

Laska2Meryls · 19/09/2019 17:46

Never How about looking at arts venue jobs? We have a fab one here which does classes / exhibitions / productions/ music etc .

Art teaching /education experience surely must be an asset to those sort of places

Laska2Meryls · 19/09/2019 17:48

I hav a sticky keyboard, keep losing letters on words I'm typing. must go clean it

dontcallmelen · 19/09/2019 17:50

Oooh Laska that’s a brilliant idea, we have an arts venue here as well always loads going on maybe you might have similar sort of projects in your area, also maybe investigate community projects ie older people/young people, art therapy etc.

neveradullmoment99 · 19/09/2019 18:04

@Laska2Meryls that sounds interesting. What is an arts venue job? [ sorry for sounding thick!]
Thanks @melen

Laska2Meryls · 19/09/2019 18:17

I am sure art jobs are are hard to find! But working in an arts centre or community arts project ? our local one runs classes for all sorts of things.. I also know that art teachers work in prisons , with older people , with occupational health therapists , and community groups especially in regeneration projects ..
Sadly its not my work area but maybe websites like this ,I dont know if its your location may be a start?

dontcallmelen · 19/09/2019 18:17

never at my one they run courses in art, music & dance they also hold various things for people in the community, like art therapy for older people, special needs/mental health groups etc. Also have a couple of organisation that run art workshops for young children probably loads going on in your area as well, maybe have a look on the local council websites & local community fb groups.

SoyYo · 19/09/2019 18:25

never that’s interesting history about your shoes and I love the idea of them being handmade...
On the job it’s hard isn’t it. One of my teacher friends feels like you and she’s currently looking into recruitment as an alternative career as the supply teacher agencies tend to employ teachers as recruitment consultants. Another possibility for you with your art background would be to work for an art gallery or museum? Could you branch into art restoration with some retraining?

On the skirt you and I are sooo bad! Grin I just went for the pink slinkyness in a 10. Because of the elasticated waist which I hope will accommodate my size 12 waist but be better for my size 10 hips. Maybe I’m just optimistic by nature Grin

SoyYo · 19/09/2019 18:29

Oh somehow I missed a whole page of posts! I think laska and len art venue and art therapy suggestions are brilliant never!

Laska2Meryls · 19/09/2019 19:47

So..... what do I do if I am not internet shopping? Hmm .

I dont have hobbies except reading.....

neveradullmoment99 · 19/09/2019 20:01

I am a bit like that.
Toast is having a little sale atm. Not very much is reduced though.

taybert · 19/09/2019 20:03

Hmm, I’m quite tempted by some of the toast knitwear...

Laska2Meryls · 19/09/2019 20:04

Oh Never !! why did you tell me that ? ..

neveradullmoment99 · 19/09/2019 20:05

A couple of weeks ago I ordered the small knitted short cardigan. Tbh, not really that impressed with the knit of it. I sent it back as I could see it developing holes.

neveradullmoment99 · 19/09/2019 20:06

@Laska, there really isn't much to get excited about. I see my deep burgundy dress is on there. I got it with money off though but I have worn it a few times so am ok about it.

Laska2Meryls · 19/09/2019 20:06

Phew!!..at least my black and white Japanese trousers are not in it!!.. ...goes off to look at what else is ..

Ellapaella · 19/09/2019 20:15

Ahem (cough cough) may Saint Ella of no- spend just take a moment to polish her halo 😇 while you all congratulate me on managing 3 full weeks of no spend? (Takes a bow...)

Never I love the shoes 💕 Dress is also nice and agree works very well with the shoes. Sorry you are feeling down about your work... laska has some good suggestions there about art venues.

So once October comes I am sorely tempted by the Oliver Bonas dress I posted a few pages below. It's such a lovely dress but to be honest I have to remind myself that I hardly ever wear dresses. I've done nearly a full month now and really I'd like to keep going until Christmas if I can.

Ellapaella · 19/09/2019 20:17

I'm going to Birmingham with work in a couple of weeks. My Mum is going to come across and meet me after I've finished my meetings and we are going to go to the Bullring so not sure how well I will manage with no spend October. They have a Cos which I absolutely love and hardly ever get to go to as there aren't any up here near me.

Ellapaella · 19/09/2019 20:18

Both nice huff. Look forward to seeing some pics when they arrive. The dress is vey 'you'

Huffthepuff · 19/09/2019 20:21

Thanks Ella! I felt like I'd gone really off piste with my choice of the dress so I'm glad you think it's 'me'
Will be lovely to go shopping with your Mum! I still haven't been to a Cos store

Laska2Meryls · 19/09/2019 20:21

but the chestnut loop back sweater is ! .. I have worn mine loads though, its really great , recommend ..

I like the cord wide leg trousers ..

Ellapaella · 19/09/2019 20:25

Huff when is said the dress is 'vey you' obviously I meant 'very you' and wasn't saying 'vey' in a super posh voice Grin you know what I'm like with my spelling misdemeanours. The best top is also lovely - what are you planning on wearing it with?

Laska2Meryls · 19/09/2019 20:30

...but .. Nope.... Laska grimly holds onto Halo whilst thinking about the £1000+ she has spent on other stuff already this week
