Wow, you lot have been chatty. The weather here is horrible, I wore my cord girlfriend chinos with trainers today and whilst they look nice I definitely need some ankle cover, it’s cold! I had to venture towards civilisation this morning and popped in to Clark’s to try on the Orinoco spice boots with them. I really liked the grey but the contrast on the top made it all a bit messy. Think I might go for the black/ there’s 20% off online so could get 2 pairs for the price of the alternatives I’ve been looking at. Orinoco Spice

twosoups1972 · 09/09/2019 13:54

I didn't get that @Talisin, are you thinking of going?

I did get an email from Me and Em though about a sample sale at Chelsea Town Hall in a few weeks. I would be tempted if I wasn't doing no-spend September Grin

twosoups1972 · 09/09/2019 13:57

@taybert they are lovely boots and a great price. It's cold and rainy here too. I'm wearing jeans and a lovely long burgundy cardigan from Jigsaw. I seem to be struggling a bit for long sleeved tops though. That's the trouble with long cardigans/coatigans, what to wear underneath them.

Laska2Meryls · 09/09/2019 15:13

Taybert I bought those boot in Grey last year ..

I liked the shiny black ones and ordered those last week, they are really nice but they are too narrow for me (and they dont do the shiny ones in a wider fit , annoyingly.) I also ordered another pair in a different style and they are too wide! Both are supposedly D fittings . Annoying, but hey, they will be refunded tomorrow when I am in town again and , so money not spent.. I will stick to my old ones ..

Hush black wide cords were sent back this morning ..they were just too much of a faff to make work with my existing winter footwear..

Len ...have you been on the gin again , my dear? Grin

Laska2Meryls · 09/09/2019 15:14

I am wearing Amies and grey wide soft top .. at home today , and its cool and raining her too.

GinandGingerBeer · 09/09/2019 19:57

Evening. Topshop coat was ano go. Too pale in colour and kinda swamped me. I looked like I was in dressing up clothes. Grin
I did buy some nice black trousers for work and got a refund for the difference. They're nice material and had £10 off
www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/clothing-427/trousers-leggings-4075710/black-belted-peg-trousers-8755721
I've also ordered a black Tux jacket a la Soy but I've bought a Zara one as I couldn't afford the hush one. I'll see what it's like and if the quality is poor, I'll hang fire and hope the hush one doesn't go OOS.

Ellapaella · 09/09/2019 20:35

Where are you all to be getting this dreadful weather? Newcastle has been beautiful sunny blue skies the last few days ☀️☀️ not really progressing to autumn wardrobes yet. Mornings and evenings a bit chillier but not quite ready for the heating.

Len I love your dream. How very random ending up at Jeremy Kyles house! Dreaming means you have slept well, so although you might wake up periodically you are obviously getting lots of the good quality REM sleep.

No spend continue here. There is noting I want anyway other than to try some cords but that can easily wait for October.

SoyYo · 09/09/2019 20:36

gin shame about the camel coat but the trousers look great! I really like them. 🤞🤞 the tux is great too

len brexit weird Dreams Grin but at least Rees Mogg wasn’t in it. I’ve been following bbc Parliament on TV this pm and the opposition are in fine form 💪

Ellapaella · 09/09/2019 20:36

Gin glad to see a fellow TopShop lover on the thread. I'm always partial to a bit of TS, those trousers are lovely.

Softpebbles · 09/09/2019 20:53

Hey hushista’s, sorry to intrude but on the off chance is anyone selling a pair of star jeans in a size 8?! I bought them in a 10 and love them, have worn quite a bit but could do with a size smaller.
If anyone has any they are looking to sell please feel free to message me.
Sorry to interrupt but I’m sick of watching them on eBay, especially as I got mine from brand alley! X

taybert · 09/09/2019 21:38

@Ellapaella, North Yorkshire was horrible windy, rainy and grey all day until after tea when the sun came out and we had a couple of hours of blue sky before a lovely sunset, which I made the most of by going for a run.

@Laska2Meryls, that’s annoying with the boots! Think I’m going to order the black nubuck ones.

GinandGingerBeer · 09/09/2019 22:04

It's been thoroughly cold and miserable here @Ellapaella
I've been under my heated throw off n on all day until the heating engineer managed to fix our boiler. It was full of muck apparently, he quoted£690 to flush out the system & all the radiators 😲😲😲 (British gas)
I'd sooner suck it out with a straw!
Anyway it's fixed for now and the oven miraculously started working again, both sides 🤷🏻‍♀️ so Christ knows why it had a meltdown.

justilou1 · 10/09/2019 02:25

We are living in a tinderbox here. It hasn’t rained for so long, the whole universe looks like a desert. Every year since 2010 has been the hottest year on record and it keeps climbing. Spring has just sprung and we have bushfires ringing our city and dust storms. Nobody can breathe. No rain in sight. It’s heartbreaking. Our stupid. Short-sighted government is probably wringing it’s collective paws with greed, thinking “That’s those rainforests cleared, then! Now we can sell off the land!!!” Don’t get me started on water management.....

Laska2Meryls · 10/09/2019 10:40

Grim Just Sad I thought we had the stupidest gov on the planet ( oh yes , forgot, we currently do ... Angry)
Coolish again today, but clear blue skies.. am wearing thefab Toast Japanese check trousers must get some wear out of them before they go in the sale and. I get cross with myself for paying so much and Hush black wide neck top ( round neck) Also a fab black white check scarf I got in Toast summer sale .. Dh says is my Yasser Arafat scarf ( thanks DH Hmm) .
Clarks boots going back * now thinking of flatform brogues, . Anyone got any recommendations? Of course I like the Cheaney ones from Toast best of all but not the cost !!

dontcallmelen · 10/09/2019 11:05

Crikey Just yy very grim, how are the assignments going?
Laska in full agreement, I’m so depressed with it all at the moment.
Love the Cheney ones, soo expensive though.
Gin glad the heating is sorted & the oven has stopped sulking.
Much better here today, sun is trying to come out.
Soy shudders at the thought of JRM in dreams🤢
Ella that’s interesting about dreams/quality of sleep yy TS they sometimes do have some good stuff, I like the jeans as they fit me properly.

SoyYo · 10/09/2019 11:16

I echo the comments justi I don’t know what it’ll take for global warming deniers to pull their finger out.

Glad the boiler and oven are mended gin I had that flushing of radiators done around 10 years ago (also old house here) and I recall it costing around £200 so that’s a big increase! Hmm
I’ve been doing some Sezane fantasy shopping...I so love their new collection and thought of you gin...this is “the” perfect camel coat for us shorties (shame about the €€€) m.sezane.com/en/product/autumn-pre-collection/17701-johnson-coat?cou_Id=2945

justilou1 · 10/09/2019 11:20

Thanks for asking about assignments, @melen.... my first few assignments have been returned and I did very well. I have deferred the rest of this semester though as I have to have surgery on my wrist. Nothing too serious or sexy. Just a ganglion that has become painful and is impeding my ability to open bottles, car doors, (wine) etc. Also going to have to do some travel to Melbourne to check out aging relative’s mental health and living situation. Suspect doctors and lawyers need to be informed as his behaviour is becoming a little wobbly. Sigh.... good news is that I get to catch up with lovely friends and family and have some one on one time with younger DD who is coming too. I have been informed that the assignments are the same for this stage next semester and I can just keep plodding through them and can stay abreast of the meds online while I’m taking time out. Phew!!!

SoyYo · 10/09/2019 11:23

And a bit of RocknRoll style inspiration from fabulous Chrissie Hynde totally rocking a shiny tux in the Sunday Times mag

The Hushistas flirt with autumn
SoyYo · 10/09/2019 11:24

Bravo just 👏👏👏

Ellapaella · 10/09/2019 11:28

Oh I love Sezane @SoyYo. I wish I could afford more of it, although to be honest Hush seem to be rivalling them on price lately. My goal after no spend September is to try and resist buying lots of things and save for a few quality items from places like Sezane. It'd be so worth it.

Ellapaella · 10/09/2019 11:28

I've seen Christie Hynde live and she was amazing.

SoyYo · 10/09/2019 11:38

Oh amazing Ella love Chrissie her ST interview was great, fab!
I agree with you on Sezane, lots of knitwear there similarly priced to Hush and much more covetable!
The coat I linked to yes it’s expensive but I bet the quality and sheer gorgeousness would mean it would be a decade long classic you’d wear again and again, and the silk and Broderie shirts! Perfection ❤️

Laska2Meryls · 10/09/2019 11:45

Dune Frederica brogues are nice

Ellapaella · 10/09/2019 11:48

Like them both Laska - while I think the Toast ones are lovely I do think you can get some just as good elsewhere for a lot less money if you shop about.

Laska2Meryls · 10/09/2019 11:53

Yes pretty sure I can ! I may try the Dune ones , but will go to the shops to di so, I often find Dune are not that comfy on
