Have I lost the plot completely with this dress as a wedding guest?

Is there any way that this dress could be styled to make it suitable to wear to wedding? I'd size down for a start. I saw Trinny wearing it on her facebook page here and thought the colour was gorgeous.
Am I mad or could it possibly work?

Ooooh no that is hideous

sparklefarts · 22/08/2019 20:55

Looks like a completely different dress on trinny

Sarcelle · 22/08/2019 20:57

I was watching one of her vlogs recently and she has a dressmaker on standby to alter a lot of her clothes. It looks good on her, it does not good look on the model or I suspect most people. Too billowing, like a parachute hitting the ground. Not wedding attire.

Fluffytheevil1 · 22/08/2019 21:01

It’s like an upside down rubble sack 😐

Yaflamingalah · 22/08/2019 21:04

It’s terrible.

Tiptopj · 22/08/2019 21:07

Not the point but why do Trinny's shoes not fit her???

Downunderduchess · 22/08/2019 21:10

I like it. I would style it with a strong contrasting colour like bright pink, shoes, clutch etc. I like fashion forward stuff and wear what makes me happy. Dressed up it could be totally appropriate.

Esto · 22/08/2019 21:13

Oh lordy it's SO BAD

I like it. As PP said with clashing shoes and bag it would look fab.

DrWAnker · 22/08/2019 21:19

It's appealing because it is a beautiful colour and looks very comfortable.
In reality, it's very, very bad.
And I wear kaftans 🙈

sheshootssheimplores · 22/08/2019 21:20

No. Horrid.

lavenderlove · 22/08/2019 21:21

I really like it on trinny, but I would say it's too casual for a wedding guest dress, unless it's a really casual wedding! I think it's the material that make it seem like a day dress that you would wear with sandals

AlexaAmbidextra · 22/08/2019 21:25

Sorry OP. It’s bloody hideous.

theunrivalledjoysofparenting · 22/08/2019 21:26

It looks like the model is playing dress-up. The dress is massive on her - laughably so. Model is gorgeous with gorgeous figure, but looks bonkers.

Dress is totally different on Trinny. And the creases! God. No, no, no. You could wear it for a slobby day around the house, but a wedding? No. Sorry!

Nope.

Eustasiavye · 22/08/2019 21:35

I had an Austrian blind made once in this colour and material.

SinglePringle · 22/08/2019 21:38

It’s gorgeous! I love it!

I don’t know if I’d wear it to a wedding but I definitely would for work. In fact, I’m buying it!

Jaffacakebeast · 22/08/2019 21:40

That’s awful :/

QuaterMiss · 22/08/2019 21:45

That dress looks gorgeous on the Zara website. It just depends on the weight and of the fabric and whether it’s made and finished nicely or not. I prefer it on the model - love the volume of the whole thing. And the colour.

I adore Zara’s styling in photographs - but the clothes are so often disappointing in the flesh: thin and poorly made. If it cost £249 I’d be a little more confident. Presumably it’s a copy of a design that costs multiples of that?

It all depends on how it looks on you. I don’t think it needs much ‘styling’. Zara has some high heeled, bright light blue, open square toe sandals that would be gorgeous. Add a neat bag in a clashing colour. Nothing more really. No ‘statement’ necklace! The dress is enough.

@MrsMoastyToasty 😂😂
It's a bit Laura Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie

Molton. No. No, no, no

With a pile of styling & altering it might be ok. Might.

Even with Trinny's alterations, it's not great.

But I'm so distracted by Trinny's insane prattle, and YES! SallyOMalley the ridiculous use of the singular for everything, including 'glass' for sunglasses ... my eyes really rolled so far back in my head at that.

MoltonSilver · 22/08/2019 22:01

The Austrian blind comment really made me laugh Smile.

Somebody obviously likes it because it was available on the website yesterday and its sold out in all sizes today.

It hasn't come in to my local store yet. When it does I'll buy it an report back. It's entirely possible that that much blue fabric will look like a smurf exploded, or it might be fabulous. I shall report back.

Oh god it is so so awful!

BertrandRussell · 22/08/2019 22:05

I had a dress like that in the 70s. Not sure it was a good idea then......
