Styled by Susie - anyone done it?

Hi all, I've been following the tribe group on Facebook for a while but just wondering if anyone here has tried it. I can't seem to get to the bottom of what they advise, seasons etc. Is there something similar closer to London. And she keeps advising chunky trainers, is this a thing now?

I was looking on the FB page. Initially I thought the people on there were the before pics and thought these people need serious help.
Then I realised these were the stylists.

I never got accepted to the group!

WowStarsWow · 09/08/2020 14:09

Well ironfloor269 I hope you’re still on that naughty step 😂

I see that they have also turned off commenting for that post!

I think if SBS does help some people to get their mojo back, and give them some new ideas, then that is fine. But I don’t like the fact that you can’t comment constructively. I don’t think it is helpful to tell someone who looks like they have squeezed into an over tight sausage skin that they look lovely. Size up and it might look lovely, shorts an inch longer would look better. If you want to see a group that is relentlessly “oh u look lovely hun”, have a look at Popsy clothing. It’s like a cult and an online therapy session rolled into one!

Standrewsschool · 09/08/2020 14:27

There is feedback where people say wrong neckline, too big etc. I know, because I’ve posted and have had such feedback. Quite often people post several outfits, and ask for comments about which ones to keep. Also, not everyone on the site has been analysed, so some outfits posted may not actually suit that person.

ohmygiddiest · 09/08/2020 14:33

@WowStarsWow That is so unprofessional, it reads as 'either tell evryone we have 'styled' that they look fab or shut yer gob'.

On Instagram, Susie has stated that SBS educate their clients on fast fashion, and describes it as "anything throwaway or bought unconsciously". You couldn't make it up!

This hashtag sums SBS up better: #styledbyslaves

I would rather someone tell me really what I look like than that fakeness and than going out looking like a butch Madonna.

I hate shopping and clothes for myself but I do take Dd shopping when she has a big job coming up.

I know one outfit she would never have bought and thought I was off my head putting her in it raised her hourly rate as she went from a supervisor role to manager virtually overnight

I am of the opinion that you dress for the job you want not for the job you have.

MulberryPeony · 09/08/2020 15:02

@Standrewsschool school but you can’t tell someone who is #winter that the winter colour they have chosen doesn’t suit them because they are in reality #anythingbutwinter and none of those glasses recommended on your glasses analysis suit you in the slightest is seen as ‘unkind’.

Ironfloor269 · 09/08/2020 15:11

The lady I commented about genuinely had what I thought.was absolutely gorgeous, ringlet-curly hair. In a beautiful colour, too. But after the hair analysis, it was cut into a very ordinary, wavy, dark brown and bob-like thing. Her natural hair type wasn't captured at all.

I'll keep sitting on my naughty step. 🙄😂

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/08/2020 15:12

I think a lot of the glasses are too big and overwhelm the wearer’s face, although some work well. A good optician will help push you out of your comfort zone if you tell them that you fancy a change.

ohmygiddiest · 09/08/2020 15:43

I think I have seen one glasses analysis that has been OK. Just because that stylist likes that oversized look, does not mean everyone does. The stylist herself looks a bit 'try too hard' in her big glasses too.

This is not about this particular woman, but it often feels like the glasses stylist looks at the (photo!) of the woman and thinks 'How can I make this lady look like a fly?'

Oliversmumsarmy · 09/08/2020 16:16

Isn’t this just styling people how the stylists themselves dress

weareyoung · 09/08/2020 16:43

Literally this.
WowStarsWow · 09/08/2020 17:18

Ironfloor269 yeah I thought you meant her. Her hair did need a chop as it looked like the curls at the top were being pulled out by the weight. But the new length was so meh and she needs to follow the curly girl method!

achillesratty · 09/08/2020 18:39

I am still in shock that women are actually turning over hard earned cash to people who then advise them to dress like Jane from Rainbow circa 1984 Confused

The only stylist I think looks good is Fiona. She seems to style herself to her personality, not the identikit outfits of the others. No idea how well she styles other people though. I think I'd want her to style me out of all of them

TofinoSurf · 09/08/2020 21:31

Just seen a new hair analysis, brunette to blonde. I'm shocked. She looked so beautiful with brown hair. There has only been 3 comments so far. Usually when people do post a great picture it gets tons of positive comments. So if I posted something and only got 3 comments I'd be gutted knowing something was wrong but that nobody can tell me why!

I saw this, too. She looked so youthful and beautiful with her dark hair. Oh well, what do we know, we ain't the 'experts'..
MrsSchadenfreude · 09/08/2020 22:51

I can’t see that one. My feed puts the posts through in a random order. But does every hair analysis, particularly for curly or wavy hair, come up with a long bob?

Notredamn · 09/08/2020 22:53

Agreed. She suits dark hair so well.

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/08/2020 22:58

Oh I’ve done the filter by hair analysis. They might as well say to everyone, cut 4-6 inches off and put some layers in it.

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/08/2020 23:02

And agree re the dark hair one. The blonde doesn’t suit her at all.

MehMehMeow · 09/08/2020 23:31

Oh dear, the dark to blonde woman has been misled.

Jdhshekr · 10/08/2020 06:32

Yes you’re right about that one. Infinitely better brunette. She’s a beautiful woman and the blonde isn’t doing her justice at all.

Long curly hair lady needed a good cut though - I think that was an example of long hair looking bad.

ThousandsAreSailing · 10/08/2020 06:48

Where are you all seeing the transformations?
On the FB page I see mainly just stylists. I can see the bra fitter with the badly fitting bra
