Hi all, I've been following the tribe group on Facebook for a while but just wondering if anyone here has tried it. I can't seem to get to the bottom of what they advise, seasons etc. Is there something similar closer to London. And she keeps advising chunky trainers, is this a thing now?

Yes its now quarter to 11 and I've done nothing for the last 2 hours, my partner is going to come down and find me sat at the kitchen table on my phone surrounded by the dishes its my turn to wash :p

On her Instagram stories she is saying that the bra fitter measures with her eyes!!!! Are people expecting to send photos of their boobs in? ConfusedConfusedShock

WowStarsWow · 03/08/2020 10:56

I look forward to the first before and after bra fittings posts. The BoB admins must be quaking in their boots!

Possiblywickedandlazy · 03/08/2020 11:05

That is ridiculous. I have a good eye for bra fitting and can have a good guess at people’s true bra sizes and am always correct or very close (e.g. I might guess 32F and they will turn out to be 30FF) but I don’t think you can do that from a photo. You need to be able to see the person in front of you and how the bra they are wearing to start with fits them, the shape of the breasts etc. This is just money grabbing and the photo of the bra fitter wearing a bra that doesn’t do anything for her breasts (the style and the size is wrong from what I can see from the pic) makes it even worse.

Ironfloor269 · 03/08/2020 11:15

I'm a member of the Facebook group (based on a recommendation on here, most likely by a SBS planter!) so I asked the question of how the bra fitting us different to BoB method and this is the reply I got from Rosemary herself.

"Hi xxx, BoB are not specialist bra fitters, nor do they claim to be. They help advise ladies on how to find the right size by themselves. This is a package designed specifically for you by a lingerie specialist - giving you your size by eye with no measurements needed and hand picked recommendations paired with your colouring, style personality and shape. I hope that helps 💕"

WowStarsWow · 03/08/2020 11:32

Surely the only shape that matters when buying a bra is the shape of your boobs?

Also what kind of bra does a "girl next door with an edge" wear?!

Whether they suit my style personality and colouring (done professionally in person may I add!) would be the least of my concerns when buying new bras. I find it hard enough to find a bra that is nude, with no fussy bits or lines, fits my boobs, is comfy and doesn't come up too high and show under clothes.

Scruffyoak · 03/08/2020 12:36

I lose hours on tattle!

Coniferhedge · 03/08/2020 13:01

People buy bras to suit their colouring? Who knew?! Confused

ichifanny · 03/08/2020 15:27

What a load of shite .. I could guess someone in person perhaps but you can’t do it from a photo I look tiny in photos and people assume I’m around a ten with small boobs I’m actually a lot bigger and have G cup breasts .

DontBeShelfish · 03/08/2020 15:51

I'm so glad I found this thread. Long time lurker and regular name changer. I've been contemplating using the service for ages, have fallen into a rut since hitting 40 and having my DD. Joined the FB group and started following Emily on Instagram as she seemed about my size/shape.

But it just seems like a bag of bollocks. The incessant positivity is wearing (I'm a miserable cow). I saw the recent glasses advice where the poor woman had been recommended specs that just didn't suit her.

And as a PP has said, there's very little by way of body size diversity. The vast majority of women I see on there are slender. That's fine, of course, but it does leave me feeling like they probably don't know how to dress larger women.
@DontBeShelfish Emily Innes is often wearing the wrong colours, that lipstick she is wearing in the last post blatantly does not suit her. I would find another style icon!

Another shocking glasses analysis today, the poor woman!

And Susie is not an hourglass! If they can't get their own shapes right, then what hope is there for paying customers sending photos in??
That lipstick is a winter colour not spring. Sarah often wears that colour lipstick and she’s a spring too. It is so obviously a winter colour. I sometimes think that they don’t fully get what colours springs can wear and seem to imagine that they can wear any bright colour at all.

ohmygiddiest · 03/08/2020 22:22

The lipstick is definitely a winter colour! It's ridiculous that they feel qualified to charge for advice when they cannot follow it themselves.

QueenCT · 03/08/2020 22:48

Who do people recommend for colour analysis? I have googled and googled and I cannot work out what colours suit me. I know I'm cool toned but that's unusual as I'm also a redhead...
I'm more on the pale blue red hair side than the warm toned freckled
I can guarantee they would put me as an autumn Grin

frugalkitty · 03/08/2020 22:54

QueenCT I'd recommend House of a Colour for analysis, they also do a style class. Not cheap but it's very thorough and informative. I'm as convinced by it now as I was when I was draped in 2001. I thought I was an autumn but was completely shocked to be a summer. Haven't worn black since, why would I? When you know, you know and yes, to a previous poster, that includes underwear!

ohmygiddiest · 03/08/2020 22:58

@QueenCT if you are sure that you are cool toned, then you have whittled it it down to two. Would you say you look better in vibrant or muted colours? Can you pin point a celebrity with similar colouring?

frugalkitty · 03/08/2020 22:59

And, I'd been told I was an autumn as a child, so I'd fully expected to be an autumn when I went. Pale, freckles, green eyes and red undertones in my hair (I had auburn hair as a baby). That's the good thing with HoC, it's a really thorough analysis, so even if you are an autumn say, you'll be given ratings for all the autumn colours and a sub season depending on your wow colours (the ones you can wear head to foot and wow in). You might be a brown summer rather than an autumn, but unless you go you'll never know! I'd have analysed myself as an autumn before I went, I took some convincing that I wasn't one on the day Grin

QueenCT · 03/08/2020 23:07

Muted colours I tend to be drawn to
Pic for colouring.. i burn, never tan and don't ever wear pastels/orange/red or yellow. Drawn to grey, navy/blues/greens mostly

I don’t think you’re cool toned as your lips are a very warm peachy pink. You could be a spring rather than an autumn though.
QueenCT · 03/08/2020 23:16

I'm definitely one of those where everyone including makeup artists says "warm toned" and starts putting foundation on and goes... oh. No. Grin
I know with foundation I have to look for cool or blue/pink undertones or I look jaundiced. It's strange.. my dad is a definite cool toned strawberry blonde, my mum is a very very dark olive skin tone with black hair

Lumene · 03/08/2020 23:20

@QueenCTyour colouring looks similar to mine. I was draped as a soft autumn, very close to a soft summer. Basically lots of muted tones in the palette, which is one of the key features. Worth a bit of a google.

Lumene · 03/08/2020 23:21

Also just seen your most recent post - I am also in the middle on warm vs cool toned and just couldn’t tell.

ohmygiddiest · 03/08/2020 23:23

@QueenCT In that photo, on my screen, you look like a spring to me. I'm obviously not a professional though and that's just my opinion. I think you would look lovely in a muted burnt orange, khaki, creams etc with pale gold jewellery.

EndlessUserName · 04/08/2020 07:50

Susie is a pear

I agree about the lipsticks, those two stylists always choose colours that don't suit them. Sbs always says you can wear what you like I thought I was a bit mad thinking it didn't suit them though!

I noticed the insta post about the bra service has one comment about boob or bust. Comments are disabled now. Perhaps we can all 'love' that post?! :D

Tatler is horrible. I don't think she deserves to be on there
