Autumn wardrobes.... what are we thinking of?

I look forward to September and the change in weather move to autumny clothes.... I don't know why but I really, really fancy some super leather cowboy boots... plus pinafore dresses :)

I'm just popping in to say thank you again for the J Crew cape tip. I'm not sure who originally posted it but I love mine, it's a bit too big really but I still love it even if I look like a triangle on sticks. I have an unfortunate habit of swooshing around in it.

I've recently bought:
checked trousers for work
faux leather mini skirt - really pleased with this
several pairs of Clarks shoes for work
Levis black skinnies

I really don't need anything else apart from some black trainers. However I 'want' another casual dress, probably shortish;
a big scarf to go with my bright pink coat;
a slouchy turtleneck, maybe grey or burgundy

Already thinking of returning the belt bag I mentioned up thread unfortunately. I can only see me wearing it at play group & thats £25 I can use elsewhere 🤔

My new skinny belt arrived from eBay to wear with my black / dark grey skinny jeans & now I’m convinced I need a black jumper to French tuck into my jeans to show it off. I’m really loving belts recently- I blame Styled By Susie for getting me out of my shapeless sacks!

Did you have an analysis with SBS @happytobemrsg? I follow the Facebook page for ideas but not had an actual analysis

I did @Gilbert82! I often refer back to it & bought the jeans from my analysis which I love. I pretty much stick to the colours. Definitely worth the money. I’m on the Facebook group too. I have a personal shop booked with Sarah in March & Susie next September to get capsule seasonal wardrobes.

@Gilbert82 I would 100% recommend it. I haven’t lost any weight yet I look so much slimmer & I stand taller now I dress to what suits me & wear what I actually like.

I’ve just been shopping my wardrobe & found a fine knit soft v neck black jumper from Benetton which looks really good French tucked into my high waisted jeans. I added a layered necklace & new belt & it looked even better. I love what accessories can do to an outfit!

Thought I’d share my new backpack over here. Bought it to replace my black camera crossbody bag & I’m really liking it so far. It goes with my new wardrobe & it fits everything I need daily - keys, phone, 2 small purses & portable phone charger.

Well. I've just bought a sequinned suit in my defence my 30th is approaching and I thought the trousers with trainers and a black chunky jumper over Christmas will be nice!

Also got a vintage pair of checked wool high waisted trousers originally c&a but such good quality wool and lined, probably from 80's v pleased even at £40 worn already v comfy and warm

I ordered a dark green leather skirt with the Whistles 25% off. I have two black leather skirts and have worn/wear them SO much. I also impulse bought a blouse in Zara today - it’s the same red/black leopard print as the revamped version of the polka dot dress, with a big pussy-bow neck

Oh, and I have a very similar sequinned skirt happy, I wear it with a black polo neck jumper, opaque tights, and black Stan Smiths around Christmas time. Mine is from H&M via eBay, cost pennies, but was a really good buy!

Hope you don't mind me jumping in with a question for those of you who wear leather skirts... I've got a lovely black leather pencil skirt I got a couple of years ago but I struggle to know what jacket to wear with it

I wear it casually with a wool jumper, tights and trainers or for evenings out with heels and a camisole-type top - but what jacket?? I've got an oxblood leather jacket but not sure if that's too much leather at once; grey wool wrap coat but it's the wrong length - mid-thigh and the skirt is just below my knee. Id really like to wear jacket-length with it I think, but my other jacket is very casual puffa-style so I'm not sure that's right either...HELP!

@SummerSummerShine what about a long camel coat? Even a duster type. With black turtle neck, tights and boots?

God I wish I was brave enough @Judystilldreamsofhorses!!! I don’t do anything fancy over Christmas & I’m not working at the moment so no Christmas party either. I just have no idea how to dress it casually & not look crazy

happy I have worn mine on Christmas Day for the last two years. The first time with a black crew-neck jumper, opaque tights, trainers, and last year the same with a black cashmere polo-neck. My work doesn’t have a Christmas do, and we are either here or at MIL’s on Christmas Day. I wore it to work on the last day of term too - my students were very complimentary! Have a look on eBay for a cheaper version, maybe? I think I paid about £10, so I don’t feel compelled to get lots of wears from it.

summer what about faux fur? Definitely not double leather. I have two leather skirts and my options are denim jacket for early autumn/spring, various faux fur jackets/coats, knee-length parka, or a dark blue boiled wool coat, which is mid-calf. Mine are above the knee, so possibly a bit easier to manage.

I’ve sort of taken your advice Judy. I’ve ordered these two much cheaper skirts from Next which are arriving tomorrow. I’ll let you know how I get on! I wish I could be that person who wears sequins to the supermarket I’m a 10/12 & they only had 10s so I’ll have to skip a few meals if I decide to keep them.
