I look forward to September and the change in weather move to autumny clothes.... I don't know why but I really, really fancy some super leather cowboy boots... plus pinafore dresses :)

Oh @LuxuryWoman2018 I love that coat! So gorgeous in the green. I have no idea how one determines how warm a coat is going to be - is it down to the wool content?

SpeckledyHen · 13/09/2019 22:35

Happy I thought you were autumn colouring? The shirt and black jeans aren’t ?

happytobemrsg · 13/09/2019 22:57

@SpeckledyHen you’re right! If I wear colours outside of my palette (usually on my bottom half) I try to wear my colours near my face & lots of gold jewellery. The main rule I stick to colour-wise is not wearing pastels as they drain me

LuxuryWoman2018 · 14/09/2019 07:54

It’s a lovely colour isn’t it happytobemrsg I just think this particular coat might start to look frayed and bobbled quite quickly, I might try and look at it instore. I have coats for very cold days so I’m not too concerned about warmth as really we don’t get too much really freezing weather. I like this style a lot.

Ninkaninus · 14/09/2019 10:42

@BarrenFieldofFucks I love the second pair of boots and would definitely go for them over the first - I think they’ve a far more pleasing aesthetic.

And now I have another thing to add to my wish list! Hmm

Ninkaninus · 14/09/2019 10:45

@happytobemrsg I definitely think you should keep, for comfiness factor alone! You can still get plenty of wear out of it even if it’s virtually the same outfit every time. Or, with some time, you might come up with inventive ways of wearing it.

Ninkaninus · 14/09/2019 10:48

@LuxuryWoman2018 Jigsaw had a very similar coat in very similar colour in their most recent sale, not sure if they’ve still got it in stock now but worth a look. I loved it (dark green is my favourite colour right now) but sadly I’m a stone bigger than I ought to be so my boobs made it unworkable so it had to go back.

Ninkaninus · 14/09/2019 10:49

Ah never mind, just looked and it’s no longer on their site.

TheGirlWhoLived · 14/09/2019 12:59

Ohh that shirt is gorgeous mrs g- i’d definitely keep it. It looks like it can be dressed up or down which (with black jeans or leather trews) is 4 looks (give or take Wink )

It’s look good with light jeans too- particularly tucked in so will work going into spring

happytobemrsg · 14/09/2019 13:15

I’m thinking I could wear a t-shirt tucked into black jeans & the shirt open? Thats another look grasping at straws so I can keep the shirt Perhaps I could brave double denim in spring with really light blue jeans

LuxuryWoman2018 · 14/09/2019 13:20

Ninkaninus I’ll keep an eye on eBay, you never know.

DisgruntledGuineaPig · 14/09/2019 17:14

Ooh, I've typed out a couple of posts but they've not posted for some reason, I think it's because I'm trying to add a photo of my new cape! Picked it up for £10 in oxfam. Not sure if its "me", but for a tenner, in perfect condition, would be rude not to! (Its navy with duffel coat style toggles, and has a hood, it's very nice!)

BarrenFieldofFucks · 14/09/2019 17:25

I love that shirt!

Ninkaninus · 14/09/2019 19:57

Ohhhh I really want to see the cape! Try again, please?

LuxuryWoman2018 · 14/09/2019 20:55

I want to see the cape too, what a great find!

tentative3 · 16/09/2019 13:29

Just popping back to say thank you so much for the J Crew cape recommendation! Mine was waiting for me when I got back from holiday and I love it. It's possibly a bit big, but I have big boobs and didn't want it straining over them, that's never a classy look. I'll see how things go when it's cold enough to wear it, but I adore it so far!

happytobemrsg · 16/09/2019 15:09

All still under the weather today & had to pick up DS1 early from preschool so no chance for me to have a lie down 😩

My Richard Allen t-shirt from H&M arrived today (thanks @Ellapaella) & I really like it. I’ve ordered a black boyfriend cardigan to wear with it. It’s the first time I’ll be fully tucking in a t-shirt which is quite daunting 4 weeks post partum 😳

Then that’ll be me for September! Just need to post a few things back to H&M & Uniqlo

LuxuryWoman2018 · 16/09/2019 20:13

Hope you feel better soon happytobemrsg soon be time for a winter thread !

Miseryisabutterfly · 17/09/2019 16:15

I really want to see the oxfam find cape! Sounds fab!

@happytobemrsg love the denim shirt! I know we’ve moved on but I was really happy with those & other stories jumpers in the end! 😂

I’ve been spending again...

Miseryisabutterfly · 17/09/2019 16:17

The trousers don’t look particularly appropriate for this time of year, but I love them.

Autumn wardrobes.... what are we thinking of?
kindredspirits · 17/09/2019 16:21

Hello all! I've been following this thread for a while and want to thank @happytobemrsg for posting that Hush shirt-I've just ordered it as I thought it was so nice for autumn! Thanks to you all for the fashion inspo!

LuxuryWoman2018 · 17/09/2019 19:10

It's been an expensive thread kindredspirit !

I'm still looking for boots

happytobemrsg · 19/09/2019 20:39

That’s brilliant @kindredspirits! I wore mine today for the first time tucked into black jeans & felt fab!

pinkflamingo22 · 21/09/2019 07:18

I’m hankering after a pair of boots, can’t decide between ankle or over the knee. I do think the latter can be a bit pretty little woman.

Also saw this at Liberty today. They didn’t have very many sizes so I came back empty handed but then my lovely dp forwarded me an email confirming purchase of the dress. He’s so lovely sometimes. Pricey but I think it’s worth it and I’ll get so much use of it.
