I look forward to September and the change in weather move to autumny clothes.... I don't know why but I really, really fancy some super leather cowboy boots... plus pinafore dresses :)

Looking at my Stylebook app I really don’t need to buy anything else. I wanted a Autumn capsule wardrobe based loosely on Project 333 (33 items (or less) over 3 months, but unlike the Project, I’m not including coats or jewellery in the 33).

I’ve got:
6 jumpers
1 shirt
3 jeans
4 leggings
8 dresses
4 belts
3 boots
1 scarf
2 bags

happytobemrsg · 02/09/2019 21:25

Oooops posted too soon. So far I’ve created 34 different outfits using those individual items which seems like a lot!!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 02/09/2019 22:07

remus this is exactly my beef with midi dresses in winter - as soon as the opaques go on they just don’t look right on me. I recently bought one which is very autumn-y colours on a black background, and it works with rusty-red opaques, and black Stan Smiths or Vejas, so I think the trick is to have that visual block of a gap, even if it’s not bare legs. I have nude fishnets, but the colour isn’t particularly good on my skin, although okay from a distance. Does anyone have any recs for decent ones?

Today it was really cold here (Scotland) which is making me wonder how long I can realistically manage bare ankles!

CtrlAltDelight · 02/09/2019 22:28

@tentative3 - I'm a 10/12 on top and the S/M cape is perfect. Space for a jumper underneath but cut really flatteringly at the sides.

Leftielefterson · 02/09/2019 22:54

Misery - really like the dress but echo the sentiments of remus ref the tights and trainers.

CTR - I’ve only gone and bloody ordered the cape, I loved it so much. So thank you for sharing and also enabling 🙈

I’ve spent the best part of 2 hours this evening sorting out my wardrobes. I have amassed far too many clothes over the years. Have 4 double IKEA wardrobes and everyone was full to the brim so I’ve been ruthless. At least 50% of the clothes I’m giving away to charity including bags and shoes.

I’m liking the idea of a capsule wardrobe for winter. I’m on a mission to drop a few pounds and once I’ve met my goal weight I’ll feel more comfortable in my clothes.

I have deliveries galore tomorrow. Will update upon arrival!

EnidButton · 03/09/2019 00:21

Sad the cape has sold out. If anyone sees anymore anywhere on their searches, please post.

MeggyMeg · 03/09/2019 06:51

I love autumn. I need a load of new stuff year as my clothes are old and tired. I've started a pinterest board. I'm thinking of a pair of block heeled hiker boots, white trainers, 3/4 length Jean's, longtime cardigan, large scarf, loose tops , leggings and a above the knee tube skirt. I am an apple shape so need to focus on the legs. I'd also like a blazer, tweed coat and a pleth pencil skirt. I'm more Primarni than Armani so chances are I wont be buying all of this.

I want some loose fitting tops I can layer under the blazer or long line cardi. I don't want shirts as they always gape or are too baggy else where to accommodate norks. Nothing with a high neck and preferably cheap.

IhaveALooBrush · 03/09/2019 07:25

I love it miserybutterfly
Channel your inner Allison Reynolds

Miseryisabutterfly · 03/09/2019 10:14

Definitely feeling the Allison Reynolds vibes 😂

Thanks everyone and I agree about the tights and trainers. Might try dr martens and bare legs next time. Longer cardi too. I really wish I could lose a third of the fabric though. Looks so much nicer when I pull it at the back.

MeggyMeg · 03/09/2019 11:37

Which is the best website to read up about colours? I'd love to have a bit more of a colour palette going on.

happytobemrsg · 03/09/2019 11:56

Zara dress & belt have arrived. At first look the belt is heavy but a stunner! Need to try on red dress to see if the colour suits me. Will post a pic here if I don’t look horrendous.

Ah see I love the extra fabric Misery, it makes the dress very swishy

LuxuryWoman2018 · 03/09/2019 12:02

Meggymeg found this app but haven’t used it colorwise.me/

Looking forward to hearing about your deliveries happytobemrsg

Very scruffy today as house needs a good clean

happytobemrsg · 03/09/2019 12:04

@MeggyMeg I had my colours & shape done by Styled By Susie- Susie & her colleague Sarah are fantastic. I’m an Autumn hourglass & I wear black, dark grey, lots of browns/beige, khaki, mossy greens, mustard & gold. I avoid pastels & light grey. Means a capsule wardrobe is easier the create. I do have the odd thing outside of my palette (like the gorgeous blue Zara dress Misery is considering) but I’ll accessorise them with the colours from my palette.

happytobemrsg · 03/09/2019 12:06

God Luxury you should see my house. Stuff EVERYWHERE. DS2 is 2 weeks old today so not sure how long I can use him as an excuse.

LuxuryWoman2018 · 03/09/2019 12:27

Until he’s 12 at least happytobemrsg 😊

happytobemrsg · 03/09/2019 12:31

The dress is a keeper! It’s bright but not too in your face. Will look fab with my black Chelsea boots & biker jacket. Here’s a pic of my belt with one of my other maxi dresses - the belt is a lot more versatile than I thought it would be (I thought it would be a bit MrT).

Oh that’s good Luxury ignores mess & goes back to drinking tea & eating biscuits

Thank youSmile

Leftielefterson · 03/09/2019 14:18

@happytobemrsg - love the dress, belt really winches your waist in. Did I read that right, your DS is 2 weeks old and you look that good? You look fantastic! I was the same the purchases when my dd was first born, much 1am online shopping was had.

So today I’ve had 5 different deliveries. I haven’t yet opened as I’ve been run off my feet today with errands but will post back later.

I’ve found my people on the group!

happytobemrsg · 03/09/2019 14:22

Ordered the mock neck sweater from &OS in beige & pistachio. I do seem a bit lacking in my jumper selection & those colours are perfect for me. Let’s hope those are keepers & then I’m DONE! Just need to buy layering tops to go under my dresses/jumpers. Where’s best for thermal tops?

happytobemrsg · 03/09/2019 15:14

Haha yes 2 weeks old today @Leftielefterson! Ive got about 3lb to go (thankfully I was all baby). I can’t wait to see what you have being delivered!!

Atalune · 03/09/2019 16:40

happy I really love the dresses and the belt- swoon!

I think the lighter colour dress works really well with the belt and can see it with some little loafers and a cross body bag for the day time. Or some white trainers. X

happytobemrsg · 03/09/2019 17:02

@Atalune it looks especially fab with these dresses! Can’t wait to wear it ❤️

You can always ebay them to go towards new ones. (but personally I like them!)

cheesenpickles · 03/09/2019 17:59

I've fallen in love with this jumper but absolutely cannot justify it. Sob.
