Apparently Camilla sent a cake to the winning cricket team! Maybe she should be the cricket royal...

pinkladyapples · 15/07/2019 10:33

Been away at the weekend so just catching up.

Didn't like either of the Duchess's outfits on Saturday.

Loved Kate's blue dress though yesterday.

Meghan looked beautiful yesterday and I loved the dress in theory but it was too tight on the bust.

Do love this photo of her and Harry though :)

Beautiful photo of Harry & Meghan. They look extra “in love since the birth of Archie”

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 15/07/2019 11:09

I thought Queen Margarethe was looking quite modern and stylish in the first ( waist up) photo.
Then I saw her full length mad skirt... 🤦‍♀️

Ah the Swedish royals in Swedish brands again I see. It’s their job, what. Plz note the pale colours. Wink Didn’t know Stenströms made maxi dresses, they are a classic shirt brand.

Agree that Meghan’s black dress was a little tight but I also think that that style, with a mesh top, easily wrinkles and gets stretched if you’re not model-thin. So I say embrace the wrinkles in this case and decide they are part of the look.

Had to google a little for the low cut blouse of James M’s gf and it really is something for our Parisienne thread. Talk about a culture clash with royal dressing. I wonder if France had remained a monarchy if they would have remained style leading and that would have become the chose plus chic?

Gooseysgirl · 15/07/2019 11:26

We can always rely on Margarethe for an interesting print that's for sure 😄

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/07/2019 11:41

Margarethe is herself and totally comfortable in her own skin so she gets away with things other royals couldn't.

Sofia's shoes are hideous and should be thrown on the nearest bonfire!

I've been on these threads since the very beginning but I think I might be out. Debates about the appropriateness of hugging 😴😴😴😴

I liked these threads because we didn't get involved in that stuff. Now we feel not much different to everyone else in the world critiquing the every move of two women.

Honeysuckleandroses · 15/07/2019 11:50

I think William is very proud of Kate. All this talk of his face etc is silly. He knows the cameras are picking up every little flicker. He looked very engaged and in tune with her when they talked to each other.
Why on earth would he resent her? There’s no indication of that.

AdaColeman · 15/07/2019 11:51

I'm a huge fan of Queen Margrethe!

StCharlotte · 15/07/2019 12:29

You think that skirt's mad Curly? Ladies, I give you the raincoat...

Notmyrealname855 I know it was a few pages back but the navy dress with the pink border was absolutely gorgeous! It would look amazing on MM. (Was it Roksanda?)

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 15/07/2019 12:35

I watched all FIVE HOURS of the men's final (!) and saw most if not all of the shots of K&W that were shown between play. There was very little conversation between them that we could see, certainly not animated. I read nothing into this as far as their relationship, and everything into William"s hatred of the media and his stubborn refusal to give them anything out of which to weave a story. I suspect the happy snaps that were captured were when he relaxed for a bit and his real self came out.

I watched a YouTube video with Carole Malone (can't find the link now) talking to Greg Dyke who had had dealings with him over some football thing. He was full of praise for William, said he was brilliant with the public, chatting, posing for photos, the only thing he wouldn't do was sign autographs.

But he does hate the press, and I don't blame him.

justasking111 · 15/07/2019 12:42

The media employ lip readers on a regular basis. I would keep it zipped to be honest..

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 15/07/2019 12:45

I thought that too, @justasking111

SlipperOrchid · 15/07/2019 12:53

I think the discussion of the inappropriate hugging is weird but if I was so annoyed by it that IMO li no longer wanted to read this thread, I would simply unfollow the thread without the need to announce it to everyone.

It’s a public forum, people can write about whatever they want to write about. This thread stopped being only about style and became about all things Royal many many many threads ago.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 15/07/2019 12:54

@StCharlotte
That raincoat! 😂
She looks like a deep sea fisherman / tablecloth / kids tv presenter

Never mind Sofia's shoes, look at Madeleine's!! I'm sure Kim K has a similar pair.

And wow. That is some raincoat!!!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 15/07/2019 12:58

Sofia's shoes are hideous and should be thrown on the nearest bonfire!

There is definitely no love for Espadrilles on these threads!
I don’t think they were right with the particular outfit, but how can a shoe be so maligned!

Ninkaninus · 15/07/2019 13:03

I love espadrilles, for a casual daytime outfit or paired with a beautiful linen dress for a relaxed summer/holiday evening out. I’ve got a gorgeous pair in beautiful yellow! ☀️☀️☀️

I just think that quite often they’re paired with dresses in a way that doesn’t quite go.

Ninkaninus · 15/07/2019 13:13

On Meghan, okay so maybe the dress didn’t fit perfectly but that didn’t bother me one bit. I thought she looked gorgeous, glowing and very chic.

If she had ordered three different sizes of the dress to try to fit one perfectly (you can really only alter so much) that would have been a ridiculous waste of money. She will have had no idea of what weight she’d be at this stage, nor indeed what size her breasts would be (never mind the huge fluctuations depending on milk supply). She has more extra weight on her than Kate did after pregnancy so a clingy, flow dress wouldn’t have been nearly as forgiving on her body. I can see why she went for a structured fit.

I think she’s going back to what she knows and feels comfortable in. I’m perfectly happy to cut her s lot of slack. I give much more of a fuck about the woman in the dress than whether or not she dared to wear a dress that wasn’t absolutely on point.

BlingLoving · 15/07/2019 13:13

Thanks Curly. You're right, Rihanna not Beyonce. My lack of knowledge about celebs is notorious among friends and family! I only started getting to know other royal families from these threads! Grin

CalamBalam · 15/07/2019 13:19

Raincoat woman looks like she's taken style tips from Sue Pollard!
