Everyone ready for a joint Wimbledon Duchessing?

Oh I agree it’s a beautiful colour and fine for summer in and of itself (it’s one of my favourite colours and one I love to wear) but I would wear on summer evenings or as trousers/skirt rather than full outfit. It suits her and looks great with her colouring (much better than the pale blue of today’s dress) but it’s more to do with the occasion - light, floaty, summery colours suit Wimbledon and look more ‘right’ to me.

I really wanted her to wear something with yellow in it, it’s beautiful on her.

iknowimcoming · 14/07/2019 14:28

Harry and Meghan are at the lion king premiere tonight arent they?

AliasGrape · 14/07/2019 14:31

Today’s outfit is a bit bland, I don’t mind the shoes but overall the look is very ‘meh’.

Honeysuckleandroses · 14/07/2019 14:38

I love Kats dress today! Vast improvement on yesterday.

SenecaFalls · 14/07/2019 14:51

For personal reasons I feel very strongly opposed to the idea that dark green is not “a summer colour”. For those of us who don’t suit pale colours very well summer dressing is super difficult. Everything is pastel, terribly frustrating.

I agree 100 percent with this. Besides, all shades of green appear in nature in the summer so how can darker green not be appropriate for summer? I think it's a particularly British thing; Americans wear dark colors in the summer; thank goodness, because I do not wear pastels.

ajandjjmum · 14/07/2019 14:51

Doesn't it just show that you can't please everyone! Grin

On a side note - and just remembered due to the earlier comment about her fabulous hair - is Kim Murray pregnant, or have I imagined it?!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 14/07/2019 14:58

Which reminds me, do any of you still wear your nude pumps?

I do. I find they give the illusion of longer slimmer legs which is a big plus for me! Only for best though. Given what I paid for them (several pairs Blush) I really should wear them every day!

beanaseireann · 14/07/2019 15:02

This thread certainly proves it ( that you can't please everyone in your clothing / fashion choices) Smile

What a dull dress, dull style, wispy washy pastel colour in what looks like scratchy material.

Ninkaninus · 14/07/2019 15:19

I think it’s to do with the light here. It’s so dark, gloomy and dreary s lot of the time.

In autumn/winter the darker, more rich colours really come into their own and just go well with the weather. Green, burgundy, berry, navy, etc, these colours are worn a lot when it dark and cold. In the summer we want to see bright, happy, sunshiny colours. Especially at Wimbledon and summer events like that.

It doesn’t mean you have to wear pastels. I don’t wear pastels, ever.

Chewbecca · 14/07/2019 15:34

If anyone 'believes', I am convinced DOC is the exact same HOC season as me - deep summer. We are supposed to wear deep, muted colours. The best colours are those from a Monet painting (muted) but we need the deeper shade of them. If that makes any sense to anyone!

frugalkitty · 14/07/2019 15:45

Chewbecca makes perfect sense to me, I'm an anemone summer Grin However, the green Kate wore yesterday isn't a summer green, which is why I'm not keen on it (and the high round neck!)

SenecaFalls · 14/07/2019 15:49

Climate does make a difference. I live in a climate where the light tends to be bright and sunshiny year round. So we just wear what we feel like at the moment. And everything inside is air conditioned so that makes a difference, too.

UrsulaPandress · 14/07/2019 15:51

Everything about yesterday’s dress said winter to me. The fit. The style.

ElspethFlashman · 14/07/2019 15:55

Actually the top of the dress makes the darting make sense. We just couldn't see it cos it was all covered by hair.

I quite like the top of it now. Definitely called for a halfup/half down hairdo though.

Oh yes that detailing is cute! I agree, with a pretty design like that with some interest to it, it makes sense to wear your hair up.

But...She couldn’t have worn her hair in a pony tail today because Meghan did that yesterday and I’m sure a huge deal would have somehow been made of that (🙄🙄).

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 14/07/2019 16:01

Not sure about James Middleton's girlfriend blouse. It might benefit from a button or two.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 14/07/2019 16:01

She could have done with a 'forties style hair roll to do justice to the neck and shoulder line. I do like those earrings now we can see them.

ElspethFlashman · 14/07/2019 16:04

I'm clutching my pearls just imagining wearing a blouse that revealing in front of my boyfriends Mum. It's niptacular!

QueenOfTheAndals · 14/07/2019 16:05

That photo though, she didn't skip arm day at the gym did she??

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 14/07/2019 16:07

I think I prefer today's style but yesterday's colour. Funny, she doesn't look anywhere near as thin as she did yesterday.

Fashionably small French bosoms refuse to be constricted by anything as bourgeois as a bra and a properly buttoned blouse! Grin

CalamBalam · 14/07/2019 16:08

(looks bloody awful though)

Ninkaninus · 14/07/2019 16:11

I like that outfit. Quite chic and sexy and a little bit daring - right up my street!. Not sure about the red buttons. I’d wear it if I was one size smaller, and it wouldn’t really bother me what my MIL (or anyone else) might think.

CalamBalam · 14/07/2019 16:11

I''m not sure what look Brooklyn Beckham is going for here. Victorian schoolteacher on a hiking holiday in the Pyrenees perhaps.
