Help me find a v relaxed dress to get married in( City Hall NYC)I’m now desperate

By relaxed I mean verging on Converse and denim jacket relaxed. I’m 50 and been with dp for many many years. Don’t want any fuss or bother and will have teens in tow. I’m a size 14. No idea what to wear.😩

I wore this dress when we got married at City Hall a couple of years ago. Teamed it with a little white cape and some slingback heels.

I’m not sure about the witness thing as we went with some family and friends. I wore a simple wedding dress and stressed for months that it would be too much but I needn’t have worried as people were there in all sort.""the vibe was causal though .

So all these would be ok? Not necessarily Star, your ensemble was very close to what I had in mind.Smile But gutted I didn’t order that Jigsaw dress when it was in stock as a 16, I suspect it may not have fitted well anyway as I’m normally a 14.

Some of those Nancy Mac dresses are absolutely gorgeous.

This would be really cute with a denim jacket and Converse.

Love this floral silk one from Hobbs. Expensive but much cheaper than a wedding dress would be.

Crazy Paul Smith dress might be cute?

Depends on how tall you are really and how much you ultimately want to go towards a wedding vibe.

I'd pair them with a pair of simple sandals in a contrasting colour

This is quite different. At first glance very heavily patterned but the insert makes it something out of the ordinary and its reviews are great.

I was at a NYC City Hall wedding a few years ago. There were couples in jeans and puffa jackets, right up to full on wedding dress and veil with bridesmaids in matching dresses.

My friend wore a lovely Self Portrait dress (before they were so ubiquitous). There's a little garden across the street for photos, lots of people walk over to the Brooklyn bridge for photos.

I loved it, but it was QUICK! There are two rooms, one on each side of a lobby. You queue up and when it's your turn you are ushered in to one of the rooms. The officiant runs (almost literally) between the two marrying couples every 5 minutes.

It's really fun, and was a very special and memorable day. I hope you have a wonderful wedding OP!

They will probably find a witness for you if you need one (I’ve been one a few times as I used to work next door to a registery office).
