By relaxed I mean verging on Converse and denim jacket relaxed. I’m 50 and been with dp for many many years. Don’t want any fuss or bother and will have teens in tow. I’m a size 14. No idea what to wear.😩

Every time there's a thread like this somebody suggests Lindy Bop. I don't get those dresses AT ALL.

First of all they expose a lot of arm and leg and they are very close fitting which really isn't flattering and secondly I find that retro 1950s look really unoriginal and not at all on trend. There are so many great tea dress style 30s/40s style in the shops atm plus lots of really on trend and flattering/comfortable long dresses which can be worn with white tennis shoes /trainers.

I wore a Monsoon dress and M and S sandals for our legal wedding (also size 14)

Lindy Bop just puts me in mind of Fat Birds in Glasses.

50's fashion is timeless, classic and extremely flattering on all body shapes....

which is more than can be said for the opinions of posters who have just been extremely rude about a brand that at least one PP said they wore to get married in.

The jigsaw tea dress has sold out in the 16😩,the green dress I posted was a Uniqlo one, quite liked the similar one somebody just posted from Jigsaw in green although it’s£££. What was the grey one somebody just said they like? I’m not good with formal things hence my refusal to get married until now. Thought it would be easy. Left it all until the last min we go in 2 1/2 weeks.< panicking>

Go to John Lewis while Clearance is still on and try stuff on. It is more efficient than ordering online when you have little time.

More of an emerald green but pretty and could be dressed up or down. Also has a slightly longer sleeve if you’re wanting arm coverage. Won’t you be roasting in a denim jacket?
