Think part of the problem with the photo looking tense is the sheer lack of people - W&K just naturally had a lot more they could invite, the Queen seems to love babies, everyone was beaming.
This pic does look a bit murder mystery - who begrudges who (D’s sisters and Camilla; the brothers between themselves). It’s a very divided family, when you’ve already taxied in two women who don’t look happy there, and you already have tensions. Basically... not a success of a family.
Feels like H’s having a tantrum with the press. Totally get why. But in making announcements about non-announcements, completely agree that he’s making more drama and confusion... just a mess of it. A happy time now seems
for lots of people. And it’s not in Archie’s best interests - I’d be trusting MM, not H, to handle this. It’s like H is using A as a pawn, whether he realises it or not.
To be doubly unkind (sorry!) I don’t love those b&w photos, all “unstaged, spontaneous emotions”. They only appeal to a smaller audience, when H and MM need to be a bit more boring and appeal to as many as possible at this point.
Issue with all this is they’re undoubtedly losing support from fans. In our Co-Op a joyous and lovely cashier had dressed up for the wedding, celebrated the tour, celebrated the pregnancy... now she says she can’t be arsed. She had celebrated the wedding that eve with a bunch of women in our area, totally loving the love story and the fact we’re finally getting a mixed race person in that pretty awful family. She said none of those women give a toss now, she thinks H is being very rude. Dealing with the press seems to be more his focus than just communicating with the public.
