And I think we all can agree that it's much more fun if we stick to critiquing the clothes rather than the women!

@BriocheBriocheBrioche you absolutely must fly the flag and wear a headband. Your country needs you!

Smokeonthewater · 06/07/2019 22:43

I agree Doria always looks absolutely fabulous. That is an interesting point about Angela Kelly.

Wetdogloveshubert · 06/07/2019 22:48

You have made me smile today! Kate looked gorgeous in the photo; fantastic leg shot, neat and tidy, though possibly upstaging (a la green dress?) What's the likelihood Archie had just let off a stinker - more likely than the comedic suggestions it was William, hence the strained faces / smirks?

Meghan just glows in these shots. Are she and Harry off-centre to allow some subtle cushion-propping while holding Archie? He is clearly going to be a beaut. Camilla's hat is too rakish!

You're all right on Harry - he looks like he's on a casual outing, not his son's christening with photos beamed around the world! I'd have loved it if they released a photo like this, with H&M, W&K, and the children. It would have been a sticking plaster on all those rumours?

Oh my god that picture is gorgeous. I hadn’t seen it before!

escapade1234 · 06/07/2019 23:03

Kate looks lovely on the christening photo. Her makeup seems different, she looks much softer than usual. Maybe she’s had a facial. Or a decent night’s sleep.

DevonUkelele · 06/07/2019 23:29

I don't think Kate's dress is all that short - maybe a touch above knee length? It's just that sitting down makes it shorter.

Fab colour though, and I like it with the red too.

Agree re Harry's suit. He just looks underdressed and typically daggy with that awful dark shoes/p and socks/light clothing combo.

I wonder if Aunty Jane forgot her hat and had to borrow one from Meghan? Grin

Bansheezus · 06/07/2019 23:31

@Wetdogloveshubert, that is such a gorgeous picture! What a talented photographer.

Bansheezus · 06/07/2019 23:35

I wonder if Angela Kelly is looking after Doria. Doria's clothes have some similarities with HM's, the single colour for the whole outfit including the hat

Ahh, good observation and certainly makes sense. Isn't Doria a yoga instructor in Los Angeles? I can't imagine formal dressing is part of her day to day life.

mathanxiety · 06/07/2019 23:43

Maybe Archie threw up all over Harry's original suit and he had to change into whatever wasn't in the laundry basket?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 07/07/2019 00:30

I'm intrigued by the love for Doria. What do people know about her that I've missed?

pastaparadise · 07/07/2019 00:43

Love that the christening outfits match the colours in the room. Not as in - it's a green room so wear green - but match your dress ro the shades in the carpet/ curtains. Think they get given colour swatches??

At ds1s blessing Dp decided to go for a jog at the last minute while i and my bro/sil frantically finished tidying for all the guests coming over later and was so late he wore an unironed polo shirt. I wonder if similar happened to Harry??

mathanxiety · 07/07/2019 01:48

Oh give over. Who the hell are these "public". If you mean you, and people like you, just spit it out.

TSSDNCOP

Excuse me?

Daisypie · 07/07/2019 02:12

@PeaOp it was Edward and Sophie's wedding where they had to Photoshop William as he was looking very grumpy and sad.
I wonder how Diana's sisters get on with Camilla. Can't imagine the layers between them all. Harry foregrounded them in the wedding, too.
Kate and Meghan both look gorgeous.

Bansheezus · 07/07/2019 02:39

How sad that Prince Andrew's chum 'Jeffrey Epstein has been arrested for allegedly sex trafficking dozens of minors in New York and Florida between 2002 and 2005'

Prince Andrew must allegedly feel so sad.

Rhubarbisevil · 07/07/2019 02:48

I think the space next to Meghan is left empty as that is where Diana should have sat.

Wetdogloveshubert · 07/07/2019 05:40

I like this photo of Charles from his stay in Wales. It's one of those poses, and looks, that bears a clear resemblance to his father. The suit is not bad, either.

I like Doria because she oozes an air of calm dignity in what must be very unusual circumstances for her. Although maybe as she is from the USA she probably doesn't have the weird dynamic with the RF that a Brit would be burdened with.

Smokeonthewater · 07/07/2019 06:54

I wondered whether there was a chill in the air between Camilla and the Aunts. I think Jane looks awful and really inappropriate in the Fedora. Sarah looks dowdy , but it’s really nice they are centre stage at the back. It is odd that Charles Spencer doesn’t seem to have been at the christening.
I love Kate’s shoes and the length of the dress, but I’m not keen on the dress at all. Why is she fixated on these pussy bows and that drab style? She has fantastic legs
and should show them off more often!

beanaseireann · 07/07/2019 07:12

Smokeonthewater
"It is odd that Charles Spencer doesn't seem to have been at the christening."
After THAT speech at Diana's funeral perhaps Prince Charles has said "It's either him or me at the christening." It was a small gathering and it would be hard to avoid each other.
OR Charles S was invited but had a prior engagement. Harry's other aunt Anne and his uncles Andrew and Edward weren't in the photograph and appear not to have been at the christening either.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 07/07/2019 07:14

Here’s the 3 Cambridge Christening photos.
Everyone looks so happy and beaming.

Harry, Meghan and Archie look gorgeous as a little unit.

However there is so much tension and awkwardness amongst the rest of them. Only Camilla looks relaxed, and Kate is doing her best. Very telling that the Cambridges were at Windsor for only an hour, including the christening and photo shoot.
They basically just showed their faces for posterity.
It would have been lovely seeing the mini Cambridges interacting with their new cousin.
The whole situation looks controlled and tense.

Archie is a gorgeous little pudding. So glad we finally get to see him.

The cheeks!! A beauty :)

Must say George also gave great value for money on lb’s of gorgeousness, love a chunky baby!

Bansheezus this is amazing! I’m going for a wild guess here and say it’ll have absolutely no impact on anyone in the UK. A was front and centre so recently and no idea why but Liz likes him. Myimaginarycathasfleas · 07/07/2019 07:43

@mathanxiety I was a bit Shockat that comment.

BertrandRussell has quite an argumentative H&M thread going on elsewhere for people who feel the need to be nasty to each other.

Onprozacandmyhighhorse · 07/07/2019 07:43

@CurlyWurlyTwirly Wow, it's like day and night between those pictures and yesterday's. As an aside, in George's christening photo, Charles and Philip are sooo alike! But everyone looks so relaxed and happy compared to yesterday. Hopefully we're all reading too much into things and imagining tensions where there are none.
I also am bemused by the love for Doria. Seems a nice woman and as a yoga teacher I would expect her to exude an air of calm. For me her clothes are quite old fashioned and a bit fifties. The small fitted hats don't do it for me either. However it must be very difficult to choose something to wear for an occasion like a royal christening when you're a free spirit living in California!
