Previous thread

And I think we all can agree that it's much more fun if we stick to critiquing the clothes rather than the women!

Myimaginarycat yes, sorry, just read back through the thread and saw that someone else had said the same thing - still, great minds and all that Grin .
Baby is very cute, he's got a lovely big mouth like my DS2.

I love the green in the photo, it sets off the outfits beautifully. Wish H&M were a bit more centered in the couch the amount of space in the photo between Meghan and Kate (photographically not commenting on relationship) throws it off a bit for me

I think they want the names private because they've chosen several people who aren't COE for example Jessica Mulroney and they knew they'd be criticised for it.

I was interested when they said they wouldn't announce it but I think I'm past caring now. I wonder if they get the how ironic it is to say Archie is a private citizen but then using Royal privilege to make his records different from every other private citizen who is baptised.

Love Doria and love her look! She’s up there with Max to me, just seems a good egg :)

Bansheezus · 06/07/2019 21:36

Harry must have a very strong sense of personal style. I can't imagine Meghan wouldn't have made helpful suggestions as to what he should wear and what would look best. The only explanation is that he dug his heels in and said 'I WILL wear the Spandau Ballet suit with the black socks and brown suede shoes'.

Notmyrealname855 · 06/07/2019 21:37

But agree it’s not the happiest of pics! Nice to have D’s sisters there, though they don’t look happy either. Gets a bit boring having this tension :/ Are there any happy royal families?

I noticed that too! Maybe the poor photographer was only given a very limited window of time to get it all done and that's how it ended up that the best photo is one with H&M off centre and none of the back row managing anything approaching a normal smile.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 06/07/2019 21:40

@LenoVentura there's so much buried in these threads I find it hard to keep up but isn't it funny how several of us saw the same likeness! 😁

I remember Diana saying that either William or Harry cried throughout as no one had asked her what time would be convenient for naps/feeding. After all she was only the mother

But isn’t that true of most christenings? You are given a time, usually well ahead of time. My children had to fit into the churches’ schedules. And yes, one of them was very cross.

banivani · 06/07/2019 21:47

Long preamble: I popped by the library today to use the library account to download magazines to a reading app on my iPad, and noticed in the app that here in Sweeeeden we have actual magazines over the royal christenings and weddings. No lack of photos for us! But managed, of course.

BriocheBriocheBrioche · 06/07/2019 21:50

Loved Kate’s look today. Im going to a wedding in September and have a pink dress and red shoes, now I NEED a red hat band to wear too!!

Xiaoxiong · 06/07/2019 21:50

When DS1 was christened the vicar said at the end that it was more of an exorcism than a baptism because he screamed so hard throughout! The service was right when he usually napped and he was exhausted and hungry.

PeaOp · 06/07/2019 21:53

Delurking to check if anyone else remembers the official royal wedding picture (a while back) where they had badly photoshopped William’s smiling face in from another in the series as that was otherwise the best pic? Was it Charles & Camilla’s or one of the cousins? Perhaps he just doesn’t do photos well... Don’t they usual have around 6 shots max or is that just when HMQ & DoE are around?

Notmyrealname855 · 06/07/2019 21:59

Yup yup.

Kind of want to see some shiny happy faces, this was a lost opportunity. It’s all so BORING!

Notmyrealname855 · 06/07/2019 22:00

Actually think W just isn’t good at smiling in pics much, shame as he has a nice smile!

Bansheezus · 06/07/2019 22:01

I've been told I screeched my way throughout my christening furious that I wasn't having a good feed. My great aunt, who was a nun, was in attendance and apparently kept shaking her head disapprovingly and blessing herself at the racket I made Grin

Rhubarbisevil · 06/07/2019 22:02

William farted and said “That was Archie” and is trying not to laugh and give the game away.

Bansheezus · 06/07/2019 22:03

Her legs look fantabulous in that photo! But I'm here to say that you do not need one of those bonkers hat bands Grin

BriocheBriocheBrioche · 06/07/2019 22:09

Ha @bansheezus they are bonkers but the wedding is in Italy and I’m going for the ‘quirky Italian’ look so I think the mad hat band would fit right in!!!!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 06/07/2019 22:10

Some lovely pics on IG of W at the Royal Marsden, he's definitely better looking animated than posed.

I think it's the DoE who famously doesn't hang around for photos. And let's face it, at his age why would he?

Thedarklady · 06/07/2019 22:23

Close up photo of Kate's dress. William looks like he farted and is about to laugh about it.

Bansheezus · 06/07/2019 22:26

Go for it in that case, @BriocheBriocheBrioche! Just promise me you'll leave out the pussy bow collar and we have a deal Grin

AdaColeman · 06/07/2019 22:29

I wonder if Angela Kelly is looking after Doria. Doria's clothes have some similarities with HM's, the single colour for the whole outfit including the hat, and the under layer, the beading detail, the very good fit.

Rhubarbisevil · 06/07/2019 22:30

I said that darklady

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 06/07/2019 22:35

I wonder if keeping the godparents private is for a specific reason they aren't sharing, eg managing the Markle side of the family? I'm overthinking again.
