Obviously today's the second day of Ascot but given Kate's outfit yesterday, I felt a My Fair lady tribute was fitting!

I also like Kate's dress today, apart from the frill round the bottom (but that's just me being picky Grin)

AppleKatie · 25/06/2019 15:41

She looks knackered or fighting a cold there. I’m not loving the dress either.

Perhaps it just grumpy today!

itswinetime · 25/06/2019 15:49

It's a photography workshop for Action for children run by the Royal Photographic Society at warren park.

She takes over as patron for the society today.

She looks knackered or fighting a cold there.

I would be happy looking like that when fighting a cold and when notWink

Think Kate looks fab.

BertrandRussell · 25/06/2019 15:51

Pretty dress- but I wish it was more of a colour.

BlingLoving · 25/06/2019 15:51

I'm a bit behind but feel I need to stick up for Meghan here - I had my WEDDING ring reset after a year. After a year of wearing it, I just realised I didn't like it as much. It didn't look how I thought it would and I didn't feel good in it. DH was completely supportive of me changing it. I did keep the original diamonds but had it reset. I'm much happier now. I'm also planning to reset my engagement ring. The ring was just what I wanted at the time, but 10 years later, I want something different. It really doesn't seem like such a big deal to me.

And personally, I like the little diamonds around the band. I've never been a fan of the very narrow band with a whole chunk of huge diamonds on it.

ElspethFlashman · 25/06/2019 16:01

I like the shape of the dress but hate the wishy washy colour. Possibly it's more vibrant in person but just looks drained of colour on film.

The espadrille wedges bug me. I just think they look too summer-holiday. I don't mind wedges but would have preferred a smarter pair. The wierd thing is....she actually has smarter pairs!

The dress is a bit difficult to pair shoes with in terms of colour but I don't think a golden tan is necessarily the best choice.

We had a review of Beatrice's looks over the years at ascots here are Eugenie's on the whole hers seem better although I think both York girls could learn from the less is more motto when it comes to outfits.

Kate looks so happy and very casual for her. The earrings are gorgeous l love them. She seems so genuine.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 25/06/2019 16:25

I don't know anyone who has stones in their wedding ring. Is that a thing now?

ElspethFlashman · 25/06/2019 16:35

I do. It's nice. It's sparkly. I have a super cheap engagement ring so I guess I thought it needed more glam. Good move, I still think.

Disfordarkchocolate · 25/06/2019 16:36

I do @Myimaginarycathasfleas, it's a platinum band with 9 small diamonds and I've had it 17 lovely years. I didn't get an engagement ring though.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 25/06/2019 16:46

My hands are nothing like elegant enough to do justice to a bejewelled wedding ring but they do sound pretty.Smile

ElspethFlashman · 25/06/2019 16:48

My one. I chose 12 stones cos you get a lot of finger coverage.

The hair colour is too light and yellow-based for Kate, she needs a much darker hair colour with a cooler base. It looks dull and doesn't suit her skin colour - dark chocolate brown would look better and glossier too.

Thedarklady · 25/06/2019 16:52

The photos where Kate looks really good are when her hair is darker.

Rhubarbisevil · 25/06/2019 17:08

My hair goes that colour when the sun is shining on it. I hate it! Far too orange.

BlingLoving · 25/06/2019 17:20

I think she looks great today. Very ordinary but still gorgeous. And I always like her hair with the slightly lighter tones personally.

Thedarklady · 25/06/2019 17:25

All photos in sunshine, including one from today.

@frugalkitty I hate the bottom frills on those dresses, too. They remind me of really horrible 90s curtains. But this photo of Kate just makes me smile.

Like @ElspethFlashman and @Disfordarkchocolate I also have stones inset within my wedding ring. My engagement ring was a vintage-y find and I couldn't find anything in a plain band that would match it for height, depth and not overwhelm my not very long or slender fingers.

Oh that dress looks like a Laura Ashley from the late 70s.

Stravapalava · 25/06/2019 18:07

Kate looks great.

That set of pics of Eugenie are very interesting. She either looks completely amazing or a complete fright. I note that the pics in which she looks amazing, she is wearing those swing dresses that someone mentioned on this thread as suiting her body shape. You were right, whoever that was!

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 25/06/2019 18:14

A dress like this needs a drill, otherwise it’s too much into nightie territory. The frill gives it a bit of an anchoring and substance. It also weighs it down, that’s a lot of gathered fabric floating down otherwise, it needs the heavy frill to hang nicely.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 25/06/2019 18:15

The dress would feel unfinished without it.

Clankboing · 25/06/2019 18:38

I hope this doesn't sound like criticism of the wearer ... I don't mean it to be ... but recently when I see Kate's make up, I do think she would look better wearing less. I think her blusher is too heavy and stripy. Her foundation could do with being more dewy rather than matte. I think she would look younger if made up differently.
