Obviously today's the second day of Ascot but given Kate's outfit yesterday, I felt a My Fair lady tribute was fitting!

True. Lots of the tiaras have been tweaked through the years. As to rings, jewelry that you wear everyday should suit the wearer. A woman shouldn't be expected to wear one in exactly the same setting as a previous owner. And the same goes for a redesign of a ring that you already own.

I can't believe that Meghan has changed the ring she described as perfect just a little over a year ago.

In the pictures I've seen, the new design seems a bit more delicate, and the pave band echoes the thin pave design of the new eternity band. She has her wedding band between the two rings. I think perhaps it was tweaked to look more of a piece with the eternity band.

I can't either tbh Bean. I am a bit MEH about it . I don't even know why but it just doesn't seem right to me.

Maybe the 'rift' is to do with what Meghan has done to some of Diana's jewellery? i can imagine that causing a big ruckus to be honest.
I thought it was a beautiful ring and what she's done to change it doesn't suit the ring and looks a bit tacky. I understood Harry had designed the whole thing.

I find I'm clutching my pearls a bit over the Speedy redesign - like I'm a Victorian maiden aunt. I'm a bit catsbum mouthed over it.

My gosh but the ring was barely on her finger before she was planning its upgrade!

Now in the interest of balance, Crown Princess Mary added bits onto her ring. But it was about a decade later so nobody seemed to mind. And it did give it more balance, rather than just more bling for blings sake.

Agree she has made an expensive ring look cheap but if she didn't like it before then she may as well change it early on. I wouldn't have changed it because I'm sentimental but so far MM hasn't shown she is sentimental about anything.

Before: relatively modest diamond in between two rubies.

After: shoulder diamonds stuck on each end, extending it out a bit.

I dunno I think eternity rings and diamond set bands are inherently tacky so judging by the ring threads on here most of the married women on MN are disapproved of by me! So I don’t much like this new ring model but it’s just as bad as anyone else’s IFYSIM.

I mean I don’t go around telling people I think eternity rings are tacky, I just think oh an eternity ring and then shrug. At the end of the day it’s of no consequence to me, as with MM’s new ring!

Maybe Harry was all ‘darling I sourced you some more diamonds you must wear them’. I distinctly remember him saying he’d ‘sourced’ the diamond from Botswana cos I thought - what? Did you hoy yourself down a mine for it?

Eternity rings are inherently vulgar anyway....

Bless her l am glad she has one, l can't get over the wedding ring is a different colour gold to the engagement ring but her wedding ring will be Welsh gold l expect .

Eesh not loving the new ring, and it’s only been a year?! Find it a bit sad to change when it was a personal design, it’s different enough to look a bit generic and tacky but not so different to be worthwhile. Wonder how that conversation went down. Why say it was perfect etc The two of them are free to spend their money how they like I guess!

Megs: I love the eternity band that you gave me. Pave diamonds are so elegant. I'd like to change the band on my engagement ring to match it. Then I'll wear my wedding ring between them.

Harry: Sounds good to me. Go for it, love.

I think I read about the time of W+Ks marriage that the engagement ring was dipped because it was originally platinum and so it made it golder?

I may have made that up, lol. But I could have sworn it was dipped. Anyway if its true it could account for the two different golds.
