Previous thread

What neon shade will HM wear? Will the DoE attend? Will Kate have a new coat dress? Will Meghan make an appearance? And which of us will be able to identify every random Windsor on the balcony?

All will be revealed tomorrow...

The rift could be sibling rivalry from both brothers, who Knows?

LuciaSpain · 10/06/2019 09:43

Rose did some work for Michael Gove at some point hence why she might have walked in with Sarah Vine, also Sarah never mentioned who she walked in with in the DM article.

Where I am there was a well known royal paparazzo on the radio about a month ago and he was asked about Meghan's family and her half sisters book. He said he couldn't say but there was loads going on behind the scenes re that whole situation. There has been zero from the Markles, something has been negotiated, no way Samantha would have kept her trap shut since the baby arrived, ££££ have exchanged hands is my bet.

itswinetime · 10/06/2019 09:43

I don't know who he is next to in the photo in that article but it isn't vine this is vine

Oops. I did think she scrubbed up well!. Blush

BertrandRussell · 10/06/2019 09:49

God-they look a pair of snug fits.

BertrandRussell · 10/06/2019 09:50

Or even smug gits. My day is going very well, since you ask.....

MoonstoneMagic · 10/06/2019 09:51

I’m convinced that the Markles have been gagged. The only statement that Thomas made about the baby was sycophantic in the extreme, gushing about the Queen in a very ‘I’m saying what you told me to’ sort of way. It had a forced tone.
I just don’t believe at all that William had an affair. I think something’s happened to cause a rift between the brothers but I don’t think anyone knows but the two of them and their wives.
Rose may be in the doghouse, but perhaps because she’s said or done something untoward.
Harry looks miserable and tense every time he’s near William these days , yet he seems relaxed and happy with Kate. It’s really sad.
I hope the baby brings them together, as Louis and Archie are only a year apart and will probably be best buddies.

escapade1234 · 10/06/2019 09:55

I think that is Sarah Vine. It’s nit a good photograph of her - for one thing she seems to have lost her neck - but if you compare the photos the earrings are the same and the neckline of the dress.

Crazy weekend so no Mumsnet so checking in. Personally, I thought Kate and Meghan both looked great at Trooping. I also think they turn up at these sort of events while on maternity leave because they're family events. Yes, it's very formal and public, but ultimately it's about supporting the queen. Very different to a state dinner, visit to a charity or similar. Similarly, some social occasions, while public, are more likely to see the royal women turn up while on leave. In the same way that when I was on maternity leave, I did still meet with friends, attend events etc. And I went into work - once or twice for formal KIT days but also for a big leaving do for a colleague which was really just a huge piss up.

queenofarles · 10/06/2019 10:19

something’s happened to cause a rift between the brothers but I don’t think anyone knows but the two of them and their wives.
So many reasons for a rift, could be money, both brothers are wealthy but maybe Harry demands a higher income now that he is married,
Could be that William does not approve of how the Sussexes are celeb and spotlight hungry,
Could be that William is not comfortable with how popular the Sussexes are.

Maybe Harry feels uncomfortable being less important royal,

Maybe he is constantly worried meghan would break protocol , he always seems so uneasy when they are together on Royal duties,

But saying the Harry is a virtuous gentleman , who cuts out anyone who Misbehaves , is complete nonsense.

Rose may be in the doghouse, but perhaps because she’s said or done something untoward.
I don’t think Rose is dumb enough to blab about the affair, it could be something completely different .

Princess Madeleine of Sweden is 37

Daisypie · 10/06/2019 10:56

She is such a beautiful woman.

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/06/2019 10:58

Yes, Madeleine is stunning and always looks so radiant, even more so when she was pregnant. And there's few princesses who can carry off a major gown and tiara as well as her!

Would you be able to kick off the discussion with some examples of how the Sussexes are celeb and spotlight hungry please? Ta Smile

They invited Oprah and the Beckhams etc to their wedding over members of their own family...

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/06/2019 11:13

William and Kate invited the Beckhams too didn't they? And Eugenie invited Demi Moore and Ricky Martin and had Robbie Williams' daughter as a bridesmaid. So I think all like to have a celeb there. There were several actors at H&M's wedding but the majority of them were Meghan's co-stars from Suits.

beanaseireann · 10/06/2019 11:17

I agree re Princess Madeleine - stunning.
She suffered heartache when her fiancé cheated but has found happiness, it seems with Christopher O' Neill (a good Irish surname - the O'Neills of Ulster fought long and hard against the English rulers settling English and Scots on their land, they were ultimately unsuccessful and the Ulster Plantation took place).

BertrandRussell · 10/06/2019 11:20

“They invited Oprah and the Beckhams etc to their wedding over members of their own family...“
I thought Mumsnet wisdom was that you invite who you want to your wedding- and definitely friends over distant family!

derxa · 10/06/2019 11:25

I thought Mumsnet wisdom was that you invite who you want to your wedding- and definitely friends over distant family! That doesn't make it the right thing to do. Also the definition of 'friend' seems to be a very loose one.

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/06/2019 11:30

I honestly can't get too het up over who complete strangers invite to their weddings. Their ceremony, their business!

OP posts:
BertrandRussell · 10/06/2019 11:30

I’d I had Megan’s family I would invite friends (and she will have friends who are in the celebrity world because it’s the one she moved in) over them any day!

AppleKatie · 10/06/2019 11:33

Yes and I might even be tempted to invite famous people that the press would focus on to take the heat off of my (lack of) family members.

Seems entirely logical tbh.

Also inviting more friends and adhering to less protocol is important for years there has been this press opinion that William and Harry are ‘equally important’ and high profile, when actually they in fact aren’t at all.

I don’t know what they’ve fallen out about but it being Williams alleged infidelity seems unlikely to me. I can’t imagine Harry finding it harder to get over than Kate!
