I can't stop watching their uploads on to youtube. I'm not convinced that buying a bag is ever an investment! And I wouldn't buy a channel flap or a Louis Vuitton Alma as they're too 'formal' looking for me, but I like watching them review their bags.

And i"m losing perspective, I'm starting to think Chloe bags are gorgeous bargains. They are gorgeous alright.

If you had a big birthday coming up and you wanted to buy a bag, what would you dream of owning.

Yes I do like the Puzzle. Such a cleverly designed bag, and the aesthetic is excellent.

DramaRamaLlama · 06/06/2019 13:29

I'm struggling to find anything I like more than the puzzle. But balk at the price tag. I feel like I've only just got used to bags crossing the £1k threshold. £2k seems ridiculous.

Viviene · 06/06/2019 18:06

@TheHammock I am on holidays atm (sans the bag) but I find it big enough for day to day commute but I have a backpack for my laptop too. I think the large one would be too big for me.

There is (it was) a Marcie on naughty pidgeon nest not that long ago.

TheHammock · 06/06/2019 18:15

@dramaramallama, yes please, just a few pictures!

Some youtubers spin out an unboxing to 15 minutes which is taking other people's level of interest in somebody else's new bag to extremes! But I would LOVE to see a few pictures.

Sure will 😊

(This is actually a little bump as I love a bag thread!)

Ninkaninus · 08/06/2019 10:19

I’ll do an unboxing too!! Although I won’t have a lovely Mulberry paper shopper to open as I’ve ordered from John Lewis.

TheHammock · 08/06/2019 10:24

oooh I look forward to these

I will be 50 in 2020 and I will buy a Hammock and take lots of photos. I'll go to a shop. If they have the one I want. I'm still deciding!

@OrdinarySnowflake have you checked out Aspinal of London? You could definitely get a beautiful bag from there within your £500 budget, especially if you buy during their sale (which is on now)!

Loopytiles · 08/06/2019 10:34

Thanks for the tip on the vloggers, have never seen.

I love pinning items on Pinterest, can have anything you want (OK, pictures!), for free!

The trouble with having a super posh bag would be that the rest of my wardrobe couldn’t match up!

Ninkaninus · 08/06/2019 10:35

Actually I do really like the Hammock you’ve posted above. I love an interesting bag with a good sculptural design.

I love so many bags though, it’s really hard to settle on which one(s) to actually buy.

DramaRamaLlama · 08/06/2019 11:51

I have an aspinal marlybone tech. Love it but it is heavy.

DramaRamaLlama · 08/06/2019 11:51

@ninkaninus what have you ordered?

Ninkaninus · 08/06/2019 11:53

Mulberry Small Darley in Rosewater.

DramaRamaLlama · 10/06/2019 14:37

So I went to buy the disco and actually decided I liked the marmont much more: it was a nicer colour and I like the quilting.

I actually loved the disco but in red...and I really don't need a red bag at the moment.

I also had a good look at the puzzle and I think it's actually too small to be practicable for me. I need something I can comfortably fit diary, sunglasses, wallet, keys a bit of make up, hair brush etc.

Anyway here's my attempt at "unboxing photos" Grin

Ha! Just realised how rubbish I am...I didn't even get the "right" side there Grin

Here's another:

Ohhhh lovely! The colour is gorgeous and I think I agree actually, the Marmont is nicer. A bit more interest to it with the quilting.

I’m going to get a bag in that colour or very similar, next, I think... (but that will be Dec/Jan so a while to wait!)

Enjoy your new bag!

Ninkaninus · 10/06/2019 15:05

I received mine today too!

I’m keeping all packaging intact for now, because I always give it a few weeks to make sure I’m definitely happy with my decision.

DramaRamaLlama · 11/06/2019 15:44

@ninkaninus I can't open any of your pics

Ninkaninus · 11/06/2019 15:48

MN is having big problems with pics atm. I’ll repost in a day or two if they don’t come back up.

It’s a lovely little bag, I think it’s a keeper.

Sexnotgender · 11/06/2019 15:49

The trouble with having a super posh bag would be that the rest of my wardrobe couldn’t match up!

Doesn’t need to! I have about 10 mulberry bags and only really wear skinnies/chinos and a tee with battered converse or toms Grin

I just like nice bags, clothes I’m less interested in.

MsSquiz · 11/06/2019 16:11

My current loves are Mulberry bags, they're so soft and beautifully made.

I have a small quilted Darley in black with silver hardware and a small Selby in tan.

My Selby is near enough used every day and the Darley goes with the majority of my going out outfits.

I am tempted for my next purchase to be a small tan or rosewater Mulberry...

WhoKnewBeefStew · 11/06/2019 16:15

Oh I love these threads, I'll have a proper look later, but I'm lusting after this at the moment

I'm very lucky and have quite a collection of gorgeous designer bags.
DH brought me back a new Chanel this weekend, he had text me saying "am at Chanel - blue, black or red?"
GrinGrinGrin
I reminded him I already have a red and black sooooo I got the blue. Considered doing an unboxing because I had NO idea what it actually looked like so I was super excited but I find unboxing vids a bit show offy. I know I'm lucky with my collection so I tend to keep them off social media, I'd hate for my friends to think 'ugh here she goes again'
I can anonymously bore you about them tho! Haha

OrdinarySnowflake · 11/06/2019 21:16

Loopytiles - I have a theory about the posh bag/cheap clothes thing - as long as the bag looks appropriate for the outfit (so casual bag with casual outfit, structured bag with work clothes, smaller 'fancy' bag with going out outfit etc) then it still looks right. It's when someone is wearing jeans and a hoodie with a clutch bag or a work suit with a squishy casual bag that it can look 'wrong'.

A posh bag can just lift a cheap outfit if it's the right type of bag for that outfit. It can highlight the crap outfit if it's the wrong bag. (then it looks like you can only afford one bag.)

DramaRamaLlama · 12/06/2019 05:19

@lilpumpsmum in that case we need pics on this thread Smile
